  2. BRIGHTON ? Seriously ? For me... UP : Saints, Reading and Hull (mostly inoffensive, sure to go back down and I still haven't been there yet) DOWN : Wolves (been there, horrible fans and always trouble outside the away end), Blackburn (been there, northern, plastic, meh) and Bolton (been, northern, plastic, more meh) - which leaves Wigan which I've never been to and QPR which is a London away. Wouldn't care if Villa went down either, as I've been to more games there than the home grounds of some teams I've played for.
  3. I'm not being funny, but we can't even get a kit for our OWN fans' team out of that fund... love the video though !
  4. As it appears you have worked out but not shared, the number of points we need depends on the West Ham v Reading match (as well as obviously every other Saints, West Ham and Reading match, the more points they drop the better for us). The exact scenario is 1) West Ham beat Reading : Reading can get 91, West Ham 93. 2) Reading beat West Ham : Reading can get 94, West Ham 90. 3) Draw : Reading 92, West Ham 91. We have 78 already, so we need 13 in scenario 1, 12 in scenario 2 and 13 in scenario 3. There's quite a difference at this point between needing 4 wins from 7 matches and 4 wins and a draw. Oh, and we need 5 points to guarantee finishing in the top 3 (and above Brighton - are they keeping up?).
  5. I thought Jake Thomson was going to be the next big thing.
  6. I don't remember where Saints finished in 95% of the league seasons they've played in my lifetime either, doesn't mean I didn't want us to win every match I saw us play.
  7. Draw leaves the third place team one point closer to us than them losing does.
  8. Hardly, it's a mathematical impossibility, and he probably didn't know the season was ending in April this year at the time - thus making it much more likely someone could win the League in March - either.
  9. Quite pleased with my opinions again. No club sale, no massive injury crisis (though the one we did have cost us a few games in January) and "a push for promotion in the right circumstances". We also signed a quality partner for Fonte and a striker with Championship or better experience (sort of, in Lee and/or Sharp). Didn't see Lambert's ascendancy to general Championship awesomeness though.
  10. Erm, no, really, it's quite a big deal.

    A dilema ?

We cannot confirm promotion against the Skates. If we beat Blackpool, and West Ham and Reading lose all their games before the Skate game (except for Reading beating West Ham), we are still only 12 ahead of third with 5 to play. West Ham would be on 72 in third with us on 84, everyone having played 41. If Reading beat West Ham Reading would be on 73 in third. If their match is a draw it's West Ham third on 73. We don't have enough matches before the Skates to get enough points to be far enough clear.

    A dilema ?

I like my "Hobson's Choices" to have an element of reality to them. Neither of these is very likely.
  13. Reading win is by far the preferable result for us, especially if West Ham lose at Peterborough. Opens the gap to 3rd. Promotion is the first goal, we can take care of Reading by beating them. We cannot confirm promotion against the Skates though. If we beat Blackpool, and West Ham and Reading lose all their games before that (except for Reading beating West Ham), we are still only 12 ahead of third with 5 to play. West Ham would be on 72 in third with us on 84, everyone having played 41. If Reading beat West Ham Reading would be on 73 in third. If their match is a draw it's West Ham third on 73. We don't have enough matches before the Skates to get enough points to be far enough clear.
  14. I'm sure there's a "won't even win the JPT" song to be aimed at the Skates in there somewhere. "First Round of the FA Cup" works quite well too.
  15. Like Walsall away and Rochdale last season you mean ? Or Bristol City (twice) or Doncaster this time around ?
  16. So let me get this straight. You know what I mean better than I do ?
  17. There are also midweek matches next week for some teams, if West Ham happened to lose at Burnley and Peterborough they could be 10 points behind us without a game in hand. Of course, they could also be a point behind us.
  18. We're not interested in customer service any more though. Probably regarded as a sign of weakness by Swiss-Italians or something.
  19. In the sense that by "fact" you mean "questionable opinion", yeah, sure.
  20. Was me too, wasn't it ?
  21. Don't start that old chestnut again, I'd usually be the one claiming we should have an instalment plan for it.
  22. More to the point, how the hell did poster #3 know what #1 was on about ?
  23. I could Google, but I honestly don't care. That's how interesting the OP comment is to me. Christ knows why I'm still posting on this thread.
  24. Why are you clicking on it ?
