  1. Dunno why they're whining about lack of width when Guly's already crossed the thing about 3 times so far. Half the problem is that Lambert's going to get cancelled out by Dawson in the air.
  2. Yeah, but I was THERE last time...
  3. If anyone's looking for a silver lining, that goal just put Rochdale into the play-off places ahead of Bournemouth, which is at least funny...
  4. Yes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Hassli Via 2003–2004 Neuchâtel Xamax 13 (2) 2004–2005 Servette FC 11 (3) 2005–2006 FC St. Gallen 47 (18 ) 2006–2007 Valenciennes FC 21 (2) 2007–2011 FC Zürich No less, before he pitched up in Vancouver.
  5. They all live in the flats.
  6. I'm no expert, and I have no idea whether it will happen, but I'd like us to do that - a compromise this season to make the shirt look decent and so the sponsor doesn't antagonise fans, and then next year they can have some input into the kit itself to make it work better. Oh yeah, and for whoever asked earlier, the Umbro deal is 5 years running from summer 2008, with new shirts every season (somehow administration stopped us changing it in 2009). The next kits will take us to the end of the 4th year, so two more Umbro home kits to come.
  7. What, so all our matches from that period need to be replayed for having too many players on the pitch ? Bugger. Hang on, does that put us back in the Prem ?
  8. Is it a trifle ?
  9. Silently appreciated by many, I should think. Just because no-one's bothered explaining it or commenting on it doesn't mean they're not amused by it.
  10. Hmmnnmnn, he's been WELL below last season's standards in the main, but big improvements in the last few weeks.
  11. What was it anyway ? The shirt removal with shirt under thing, the shirt removal when the match is going on thing, or the running naked into the penalty area isn't against the laws (much) thing - have you got plans for Worldnet suddenly ?
  12. I don't understand your logic, if he's man marking a central midfield playmaker he's going to be (mostly) playing in the defensive midfield position just because of where he'll have to be to be next to his opponent. Also, I've never seen Martin man-mark, who knows if he could do that ?
  13. Also I note that Hackett says it was incitement-based on that You Are The Ref link, so the truth is that no-one knows why FIFA did it, and FIFA decided not to say. Might have to find the IFAB (International Board) ruling of 2004 to see if there's anything specific in there...
  14. You could've just asked.
  15. Yeah I know it was, that's why I asked Useful info about who was making the kits though, eeeeuw, Strikeforce branding. It's such an intangible thing, a design label ! I noticed Fulham had some of "our" training kit a season afterwards as well, I think when they were with Airness. What about the actual manufacturing/distribution of the kit in terms of the design process, I'd always assumed that was the bit that took up the lead time but you're implying it can be done in 2 months ? Then again, when I worked in a sports retail warehouse in the mid-90s we didn't get the kits in for distribution until a week before launch - which isn't to say they weren't sat in some Umbro warehouse for months before of course ? Having said that they got thousands of the plain white Man U kits out there within about 3 weeks of them losing to Saints in grey...
  16. Is this (number 3) close enough for you ? Keith Hackett says "goal, and book the defender". http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/dec/03/you-are-ref-wayne-rooney# - though I'd note that in leaving the playing area to go and slap SRS around the face you'd be booked, and by slapping him with a body part you'd get sent off for violent conduct. But get nekkid all you like.
  17. Here it is : With the responses here : http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/nov/05/you-are-ref-tim-cahill# You Are The Ref 143 also notes that removal of shirt when NOT celebrating a goal is fine : http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/dec/31/you-are-ref-trevillion-messi#
  18. That's not a question, it's a FIFA directive, all football adheres to it. Also I happen to know it was on You Are The Ref on the Guardian website a few weeks back and Keith Hackett said exactly the same thing.
  19. How far in advance of the release ? And any ideas how Umbro do it ? Oh yeah, and who was to blame for the nose-breaking collar ?
  20. I bet you don't now.
  21. I think I'd be buying a replacement for Jaidi unless we're planning on starting with Martin (or Seaborne, who seems to get a lot of hate for no apparent reason : e.g. "he was crap against Peterborough" - who've scored 60 goals in 20 home matches so you might consider being quite an attacking force ?!?!?!?!). Jaidi's doing well but he can't go on forever. Chaplow was struggling at Preston before we signed him, and since we signed him he's struggled again - we need another central midfielder (and I don't think it's Gobern), maybe two if Stephens doesn't stay. Can't see Harding coping with pacier wingers very well either, and Dickson is more attacking and I'm not convinced about him defensively. Seaborne's looked decent in his left back cameos though, and Man U and Argentina have been known to play seasons with centre backs at full back, so maybe we already have that position sorted. Definitely need a striker to replace Connolly (no idea if Doble can step up) and at the least Lambert cover, he's played nearly all of the past 2 seasons and without him we have to completely change style, which doesn't work. We need a Lambert replacement who can slot into that style.
  22. That doesn't actually mean it had any impact at all on the players, and he very noticeably doesn't say it did in that quote. He just says the atmosphere improved.
  23. No Puncheon ?* *thread hijack in progress...
  24. You should have left it at the Patrick-style stuff, that's vile and very much neither fish nor fowl..! nice aap3 in a red box though, that'll keep some people happy. Actually, where you could shed some light on this is in the design process - what happened when you were involved in terms of design remit and the club's input ? It won't be the same now due to Umbro's involvement (guessing you might not know how that works though I know you did some work for them) and the club's people are different, but I'm interested in the process and how you came to final designs. All assuming you're not on a lifetime NDA of course !
  25. Must conceal traps better.
