I'd expect the manager to be critical of unnecessary mistakes, and he made a big one with that pass to Fonte. He also saved us the win, but nothing wrong with a bit of criticism from time to time. Incidentally on the FM2011 computer games thread it's stated that there are 4 keepers in League One better than Davis. Anyone know who they are ?
-
Oh god yes, I wouldn't know who to support!
-
Does it actually work in game though?
-
I'm kinda wondering what the point of this thread is ? Doesn't seem to be for peoples' saves or stories...? More of a one-person Saints info we al already know w@nkathon.

I found creating playlists on the 360 a little weird too, best thing to do is create one playlist with ALL the chants on, then Save it, and keep going back into it and delete the ones you don't want and Save to create a new playlist (rather than editing the one you've got). Quickest way to get different lists for the in-game songs, the pre-match and post match win/loss sounds, and the goal sound. Having said that, mine doesn't work anyway (but then I've not been on it for 2 weeks).

I think he's a little lost without being able to sign Paul Telfer.
-
You can call them what you like - as long as you point the game at whatever you create. Bear in mind also you can use separate files for goals, entrance music and post-match win and loss sounds. I've found individual chants work too. And yes, that is the idea of a playlist.

There do seem to be a lot of issues with this - even people who have got it working have flagged up problems with Arsenal chants popping up in their playlists !

If you're on 360, that's the same problem I'm having, not that I've tried to fix it since last weekend. I've got ripped mp3s on playlists I created on the Xbox, and I've got streamed playlists from Media Player, and neither work. Though it is worth noting that there's a different screen for chants, etc. for matches featuring your Virtual Pro and I'm wondering if that might be the issue.

FM2011 - New Videos and Social Network features

Oh, and nothing will beat the graphics and goal sims on Speccy Football Manager. Stick men and weird rebound sound effects ahoy. Still brilliant though, and much more fun than the vastly superior C64 graphics. And if I want to play SWOS I'll play it on Xbox Live Arcade - it's even got game saves. -

I don't think you can describe a completely new version (SWOS 95/6) as a "patch"... and anything else after the Amiga version basically doesn't count. Have to say I liked Sensi a lot, but mostly for the squads and kit colour changes and management mode on SWOS, the game itself was never all that great, and even worse on consoles with the rubbish controllers. -
Wasnt this dude supposed to be interested in us at some point ?

I'm shocked at how many people bothered to click the link, tbh. -
No he isn't. He looks just as immobile to me as he did from the second game of the season. But he does now have Barnard running around making things happen as well.

The difference between top teams and bottom teams of similar abilities in any league is usually effort. Saints in 2001 were a bunch of one-paced half decent players, by 2003 they were a hard-working hard-running machine. The tangible difference was the effort they put in (aided by fitness which can't be a factor in this timeframe). It's the difference between players moving before the ball is played and getting the advantage over the opposition as a result, or waiting to see what happens which makes them predictable. The fractions and decisions on which matches turn. We all know we've got a good squad for this level, but if they all stand around waiting for someone else to do something then the opposition is usually organised and able to deal with that. What's changed is the desire to put in that work, make the runs, track the runners. The effort, pure and simple. Now we can argue about WHY that's changed, if you like...
-
I kind of agree with motivation, but other than getting them running more and working harder, and getting Lallana back (which all makes a huge difference), the only difference I've noticed is that Puncheon passes the ball more quickly. As far as psychology goes, I can't imagine losing the manager they won something under was a motivator, especially right after winning 4-0, and knowing the next guy was a caretaker wouldn't have given his say-so much weight.
-
Yeah, theory is the same but doesn't seem to work very well on the Xbox 360...
-
I've barely bothered, but I'd be inclined to think volleying in rebounds off the keeper are your best bet.
-
-
Yes. But we'll never know, so it's pointless discussing it.
-
Hardly particularly resolute, and not massively loyal... he is their best player of the last 9 months by a mile though. Though he still looks like a monkey sat on a fridge.

LOLz, I remember playing a full real time GP on Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix on the Spectrum around 1988/9ish, try playing 90 minutes+ with your finger on squidgy Q and A keys to accerate and brake, and O and P to steer... still, at least you had Turbo boost, but one collision, just one pixel out of line, and the race was over.

No room for intelligent discussion on this thread any more Smirking_Saint - So, in line with certain responses - "Graaaaaahhhhh FURY RAGE toychuck how dare you say "polished" and "closed the gap" ? What have you got against Poland and GAP clothes, FFS" ? Etc. Oh, and as someone quoted "it", I did just read "it". Someone's touchy aren't they ? Nice to know I addressed all the criticisms with "I haven't played PES2011" though. Only two outstanding points I saw worth addressing in The Rant though, and that's firstly that the reason no-one slates PES for not having accurate names, kits, etc. is because we all know it won't have and can't have, so it gets judged on what is legally possible for Konami to do - and they have an excellent editor which allows people to recreate everything they'd want to anyway. The plethora of available Option Files corrects that in a matter of minutes anyway. The other thing is that there is no way FIFA's player models look better than PES', and you don't have to have played the game to know that, it's obvious from the screenshots and demo. And I've already said the PES animations aren't as good.
-
Also, do you just create playlists or do something else ?
-
According to FIFA Soccer the rogue chants problem is one of many being addressed by a patch.
