To be fair, the Echo is now pursuing its agenda mostly as a result of Cortese banning them for no particularly good reason regarding the training ground plans. So he's only got himself to blame for that one - and if he was putting out an olive branch regarding how they can get "news" instead of "gossip" it's a funny way to do it...

Apart from the tiny pop at MLT, everything else is just perfect.

I like it, but think it would look better just with "125" emblazoned across the ball, rather than a Red Nose. Also, trimming things with gold is SOOOOOO Pompey 2007.

There are a few bugs, I wasn't impressed with Wales fielding Ramsey and Koumas both wearing number 32 for a start...

I've got it on 360, bought it on release date which was some time in October or November I think (was out on PC first), was expecting a 3D Madden-style live action realtime game with Steamrollers, pits and spiked pads as well as the computer-aided version of the classic 1980s board game, but it's JUST the boring turn-based board game. Absolutely loved all that nonsense in 1988 but kinda grew out of it when I discovered girls to be honest, and sticking it on a computer screen doesn't make it any more interesting now. Even so a realtime battle game with the original characters would have been a laugh. Disappointed, so much potential totally ignored.

"A few little things" like the main ticket income for the club next season as well as a long-term source of revenue, not to mention keeping the fanbase in the dark and treating them dismissively by not making a usual product available and then not explaining why... ...what exactly do you regards as a "big" issue if the club's funding, the ability of people to watch matches, and the owner and chairman's relationship with the fans aren't ?
-
It's pretty tricky actually, there's always something else I can spend disposable income on, and usually do. I'd rather it got deducted from my account straight away, preferably spread thinly throughout the year, or in manageable sums for a shorter period. It was great last season when the ST sales were so ar5ed up that the payments were 0% over only 6 months, I'd take that, but I'd rather know how much it's going to be as soon as possible.

etc. No-one yet has said that Mido's from a very rich family and is basically playing for fun rather than out of necessity anyway... On his Wiki page about the West Ham wages : Mido joined West Ham United on a four-month loan on 1 February 2010 after his season-long loan spell with Zamalek was terminated by mutual agreement. He stated "I had to sacrifice some things but I'm here to play football again and I'm here to prove a point. I'm very happy to be here, it's a great club – and I'm sure I'll do well here."[124] West Ham chairman David Sullivan announced that in order for Mido to secure his long-term footballing future, his contract with West Ham put him amongst the lowest earners in the Premier League. Sullivan said "He doesn't want to be known as a 'has been' of English football, so he was willing to come here to play for a nominal fee, just £1,000 a week

Oh come on, someone (lets call them "Steve Grant") is reading the programme actively looking for something contentious and they don't notice a new signing is announced? Hardly likely.
-
Sounds feasible, I look forward to the programme going on sale as normal when the breached deadline has passed then...
-
People on here have read the programme. It says nothing unusual.
-
That's a thread hijack of the highest order... and we're off into "that always makes me laugh" territory...

Please note, on points won, he is League One's 5th best manager. He didn't have a -10. Just a completely random point here, but why did he leave West Ham in the first place ? Wouldn't that prevent him going back ? And Zola has proved nothing, and wouldn't necessarily be a good idea for Saints. Though Poyet is similarly foreign, London Prem-team based and age/career moves in England, and is doing well for Brighton...

I gave up "not wearing blue when we play Portsmouth" after this season's match - which I am mainly blaming on the blue dots on the flybe logo... (and ignoring the blue waves on the club badge). Other than that, I like to see the kickoff if at all possible (and look what happened at Wycombe when I got there 15 mins late).
-
If it's a commercial mistake then where's the harm in saying "we put x advert in and it said y which we accept was incorrect, the programme was withdrawn to prevent legal issues". Rather than "ner-ner, not telling, go away". At some point in the future we might be referring to this and the training ground Echo ban as obvious warning signs that we should have seen, if Cortese turns out to be a megalomaniac and we're up sh111t creek again.

I happily browse it at work, so not quite. It does feed my obsessive need for football kit minutae nicely though.

For the Redknapp apologists, this is ONLY THE SECOND TIME that the award hasn't gone to the Premier League winning manager. Now ask yourself if anyone thinks Spurs have done anything THAT impressive to warrant this award - hell, they were in the top 4 practically all season under Martin Jol until dropping to 5th on the last day. It was only terrible management of the players for the following 3 years that got them even close to the bottom, and they have top 6 resources at worst. Aside from Ancelotti (champions in his first season, more goals scored than any other Prem-winning side), who would be the obvious choice, and even looking past the BorInG 4, Mick McCarthy getting Wolves safe with games to spare is a far more impressive achievement. It seems to be the equivalent of Giggs' Player of the Season award last season - a token lifetime achievement award when the obvious candidates weren't really as good as they usually are, despite being poor and still beating everyone else. In Redknapp's case its the hacks thanking him for his rentaquote behaviour.

Jeremy Clarkson ? This thread got crap in the last 15 posts btw. Arizona does appear to have missed the point entirely.

So was Lallana, and Matt Le Tiss - what's your point ?

Widely and incorrectly reported as a fake, I should imagine. Footballshirtculture have had a 100% record on this in the 3 years I've been reading their site - they have never, EVER got it wrong, and they've posted the info from ArsenalInsider - which is in line with that design. The only even dubious one was when they listed the Man U kit for this season and had the white shirt with a red V as the away kit, when it turned out to be the keeper's shirt (and van der Sar prefers the yellow and the blue ones and never wears it anyway). I keep expecting to see our new kits on there before the OS, but they're usually just behind on lower League sides...

This is what awaits Alan Pardew on Wednesday.

I got as far as "von Klinkerhoffen". -
Shinner all the way, and I don't even remember Lambert v MK Dons (for a start there were 4 games it could have happened in...) My actual favourite was the MK Dons OG in the JPT, by far the best goal I've seen this season, it was the one that said "we've got some luck on our side, too".
-
Does anybody know the words to the Lambert song?

Unfortunately its also the sort of thing that just means you end up with loads of people singing different bits at the same time, which just leads to people stopping singing altogether. That and a mental bloke getting carried away near you... ..why is there always one of them in the row in front of me slightly to the right ? It's like, 4 years in a row now, and two different blokes !
