Terrible analogy Alex.

My wife has an interesting angle on this. She knows a bit about football especially Saints, living in a family of Southampton supporters. Putting the FA enquiry to one side she simply doesn’t understand why we would sack Tonda. He has been our best manager since Ralph. Everyone in football is cheating to one degree or another. There are lots of bullies in football - see Sir Alex. Therefore why sack him?

The files on this case should be thrown at a top litigation team at a magic circle firm by the club and ask them to do their best and see what they can come up with. There are red flags everywhere.

The club would have seen the full reasoning earlier today and knew anyway what Tonda’s role was in this a few days ago. Why the hell is he still in our club?

Can I just pick up on one thing. There is talk of our first KC (the lady barrister) having no experience of sports law etc. I haven’t checked this out so don’t know if this is true but don’t forget she would have been recommended and instructed by the club’s lawyers, not by the club itself unless Parsons or someone else in authority recommended her from previous experience. Whatever the case, when we knew early on that we were up against Di Marco we should have gone big time in the shape of Pannick KC at that point. Someone in the club decided not to. I suspect down to complacency and arrogance. This has been handled badly from start to finish and continues to be. What a bunch of amateurs. Boro shat all over us. Credit to them. They must have been pissing themselves laughing and still are.

Cannot argue with any of that. I still cannot believe that everyone involved still has a job. But that should come as no surprise. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.

Unless we’re going to sue the EFL in the High Court it’s time to put this behind us. We need to deal with the FA by handing over those to blame and let the FA do what they need to do, we make good noises about lots of internal training and promise it will never happen again. And sack those responsible tomorrow whilst the boss is here. At the same time the club needs to look for the new manager immediately and sit down with each player and find out who wants to stay and who wants to go. Those who want to go need to be sold asap. In the meantime we can sit down with people like Lallana and Romeu and look where the gaps are in the squad that need filling and start drawing up a list of targets. Just do some shit. Don’t do any more navel gazing. We’ve done that for 24 hours. That’s more than enough. Action time.

Not keeping Leo in a million years. We need the money from him to help us rebuild. Jander would be an amazing keep but he will go as well I fear.

As we sit here now I’m struggling to see how he won’t get a ban. He will be back in Germany within a week or two. That’s him done in English football. The sad thing is that I think he will make a great success of his career. Who knows, one day he’ll be the German national coach. This is what makes it all the sadder. He’s a talented chap.

Blackmore was on Radio 5 Live this morning talking, in my view, utter rubbish. He was saying we should have put our hands up and been more contrite from the start and we would probably have received a lesser penalty. That’s exactly what we did do in the Boro board room. If we had used the Man City playbook we wouldn’t be in the position we are now. Keep quiet, get the lawyers on board immediately and delay, delay, delay. We played it totally wrong.

Bend over and accept what is coming. When we win our first 5 games of next season this will get forgotten very quickly.

Not sure what you are talking about. We’re about to get in over £100 million from the sale of 6 or 7 players over the next few weeks. We will rebuild with some of that money - not all but some of it.

Our new manager needs to unite the fan base. Some random unknown is not the answer. I’m not a fan of Scott Parker in terms of personality but his record at getting teams out of the championship at the first time of asking is extraordinary.

Surely the FA are going to ban him anyway so he will have to go and this is a non-argument. The last thing we need is a summer of dispute with the FA and the uncertainty that goes with that. Anyone who is going to face an FA ban should be got rid of right now. We then move on quickly.
