  1. There better not be any thought or suggestion that Selles stays in charge after this gutless end to this miserable campaign. No fight, no effort, no spirit, no desire. Truly pathetic. JWP is also the captain of this shower. Take a good look at yourself Mr Ward-Prowse. You’re not blameless.
  2. First questions to be asked of Selles. He’s fucked this up tonight so far
  3. It will go down in Saints folklore. 40 years from now if someone fucks up and is totally clueless but really think they are the dog bollocks, it will be referred to as “Doing a Nathan”. We’ll have to explain to our grandchildren.
  4. If we go down it will be the fault of one person only and we know who that is. Those games in January against our relegation rivals was a disaster. We replicate the results from the last 4 games over the next 12 and we stay up. Jones is squarely to blame - not our lack of goals. The worse manager this club has appointed in the last 50 years.
  5. The whole of this season’s shit show can be traced back to last summer. The board made three huge gaffs. Firstly, they should have got rid of Ralph. Secondly, they should have bought a striker who scores goals. Thirdly, Romeu should have either been persuaded to stay one more season or he should have been properly replaced. In my view it’s as simple as that. Those three actions would have resulted in this season being very different. It was obvious to the majority of fans that Ralph had run his race by the end of last season but the board couldn’t see it. They should pay for that now with their heads.
  6. Orsic was a disgrace tonight. If that’s all he’s got then get rid asap. I’m a fan of Perraud but he had an absolute stinker tonight. God it was bad all over.
  7. Is this the lowest we’ve felt since that home defeat to Rochdale back in League One all those years ago? We hit bottom that day and this feels similar. We’re going down with this group of players and we need to go down to regroup, have a clear out, sack the board and appoint a proper manager. No disrespect to Ruben but we need an experienced campaigner to get us out of the Championship.
  8. Based on your post Charlie, we might as well just scrap Saintsweb and all fans forums should be scrapped as well based on your logic. For all intents and purposes, those that attend matches pay the players wages. The players know when they enter football that they are up for criticism - part of the game. Always has been and always will be. You will remember the Dell and how players got dogs abuse constantly if they were crap. The only difference in those days was they got it straight at them being so close to the pitch - not from reading a computer screen. Ely and the game now is no different.
  9. Never thought I’d say this but we are missing Che. Whilst he misses the easy ones at least he creates opportunities and holds the ball up well. He is still our best forward at the club. Big tall Paul will not make it at this level. Someone made a comparison recently with him and Pelle. I wish.
  10. And you could easily be talking about Bednarek as well. How can the fans see this but not the coaches. Quite bizarre.
  11. I think he deserves his own thread. I’ve watched a lot of football over the years and I know there are players we all don’t like or appreciate but we can see what they might contribute. I just don’t get it with ME. I can’t think of anything that he has ever done which could be called a decent contribution or indeed a contribution at all. Perhaps I’m just missing it and I’m happy to be corrected but in my very simple mind, when he’s on the pitch we might as well be playing with 10 men. There is much more wrong at Saints than ME but why start every game with one arm tied behind our backs? I wouldn’t even have the guy on the bench let alone starting. Can anyone shed any light why any manager would play him? He’s up there with one of the poorest players I’ve seen at Saints in the last ten years and I cannot see how he is a premiership player.
  12. Swap Bednarek for Salisu
  13. It’s very simple. Look at the stats. Play Stuey and we probably won’t lose.
  14. W5, D5 and L5 from here should be enough to stay up. Wins v Leeds, Leicester, Palace, Bournemouth, Fulham Draws v Brentford, West Ham, Forest, Spurs, Liverpool Losses v Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Brighton Not going to be easy but far from impossible
  15. Not allowed to use the word “Welsh” even if it’s with “Wonder” rather than “Twat”. Warrior lives in a wokey vanilla world where we’re all the same. You’ll upset him/her/she/he/it
  16. I called him a Welsh twat the other day and I am Welsh. You’re a little sensitive. Just relax. It’s Friday night. Have another strawberry daiquiri.
  17. He does have to mitigate his loss but it doesn’t mean in an employment context that he has to take any shit job that’s going. Saints’ lawyers will use this as a negotiating tool and Jones won’t hang out for every penny that’s due. If he takes us to court and wins he will still have unrecoverable legal costs. My bet is that he will cut a deal with us but he won’t give us much of a discount!
  18. His lawyers will currently be discussing with Saints’ lawyers what his pay out should be. Their starting point will be the remainder of his contract. If he doesn’t get a job between now and the settlement being agreed then he will probably get most of his contract paid up. If he gets another job in the meantime then depending upon what he gets paid in his new job, Saints will have to pay him less. Saints might try and drag this out for a while to see if he goes elsewhere unless they just want shot of him. What none of us know is whether there is some other clause in his contract which limits our liability to him.
  19. I suspect that compensation for his termination by Leeds hasn’t been agreed yet. Contractually they have to pay him out but there is the issue of mitigating his loss. This might very well have had a part to play in this. I wouldn’t be surprised that JM instead of backing himself at Saints he got greedy.
  20. Perhaps he was just seen as the best of a bad bunch - hence why the short contract offer
  21. Not sure why people are getting so upset. Imagine we had given him a longer contract, he had no impact, we were relegated and started the new season badly, people would be coming on here screaming that we were stupid to give him such a long contract. I think we’ve been very prudent here. The board, who don’t get me wrong as I’m no fan of them, obviously were not convinced Marsch was totally the man they wanted. They’ve acted properly in this instance.
  22. I'm more than happy to give him a fair crack but the first time that he picks Lyanco, Bednarek, Diallo and Elyounoussi all in the same starting XI, that will be it for me. Call for him to go at that point 😉
  23. Could do a lot lot worse
  24. Yep - the chap from Copenhagen to work alongside him
  25. Jess Thorup (thanks Turkish) is well worth having a read about. He would be as good as anyone currently available and achievable.
