  1. Been snowing hard here and laying since around 5pm. Hopefully no work tomorrow!!
  2. MLG - You may well be right but time will tell if there is any fact behind the rumours. Thought it was an entertaining read anyway!
  3. Apologies if this has already been posted but can't see it! Found on football-rumours.co.uk Portsmouth FC are in serious trouble... I work at the FA and on the agenda for next Monday morning is a joint meeting with FA and Premier League Officials at Wembley Stadium in order to discuss their immediate future. The finances at Portsmouth are shrouded in mystery, to say the least, and various personnel from the club including CEO Peter Storrie, Sueliman al–Fahim (not currently at the club, but his role in the financial affairs is to be looked at) and Ali al–Faraj. Auditors from Deloitte Touche are being called in by the FA to go through Portsmouth's finances 'with a fine tooth–comb' and charges (including jail terms) could be given if they cannot account for where the money has gone (if it was ever invested in the first place!) Should the club go into administration, which is very likely, the club will be deducted 20 points – 10 for actually going into administration and a further 10 for their financial problems to date (such as twice not paying players on time). KPMG would then be employed as administrators in the hope of finding a buyer. One has to be found and all debts cleared before they can start the 2010–11 season (most likely, in the Championship). If a buyer is found, and pays off the debts or agrees to a refinancing deal (which would involve selling all/part of the land at Fratton Park) then the club will be given permission to play in the Championship. If not, Fratton Park will be sold to the Council for a small fee (as it would be categorised as a 'going concern') and Portsmouth would have to restart from the Conference, ground–sharing with Havant & Waterlooville. However, they could only do so if Chester went completely bust and applied to join the FAW (Football Association of Wales) and were given permission to play in the Principality Welsh Premiership, groundsharing with Airbus (as they would not be allowed to use The Deva Stadium).

    Snow

We had that a few hours ago - still white outside. (Happy Christmas!!)
  6. Shocking!!! Bet they've still been to more games than you!
  7. As a 50 something who hates rollercoasters I woud suggest Epcot. A few rides there to be avoided but a good day for an adult. If you want food - the 'lands' of Norway, Italy and Canada were good from what I remember. Also, stay for the fireworks! Enjoy
  8. Completed the survey! The cost depends on when you travel - time of year, time of day etc. Sometimes they do special offers and it can be cheaper to book in advance BUT it's still way too expensive.
  9. A true gentleman. A sad loss for football. RIP.
  10. The curse was lifted the day Lowe walked out the door. Hopefully.......................
  11. Club without a doubt
  12. Always here. Hardly looked at the OS at all until the last couple of weeks - its much better than it was!
  13. I see now you went to Freshwater. That's different! It's like me saying people in Hampshire (including down the M27) are all the same.....
  14. My bin is full of junk mail - if you 'mainlanders' get more then I feel sorry for you!! Very few firms I have dealt with seem to have a problem with us being 'overseas'! Jillyanne - thanks for nice comments - it is a lovely place to live
  15. Yesss!! Excellent!
  16. I expect they all have a new lease of life now, after all they didn't know they would still have a job until 2 days ago. Pleased for them .
  17. Totally - I watched jealously as my Man City supporting OH got so excited last summer when they got their billionaire but now its my turn!! I can't really believe it!
  18. I've been a Saints fan for nearly 40 years and the worst times were under Branfoot when there was nothing to get excited about, and the whole of the last 5 years. Things have gradually got worse and worse until last week when we nearly went out of existance. During the last 48 hours I've rediscovered my enthusiasm for SFC - even in Lge 1 on -10 - and its a great feeling. I hope its continues and I say to all Saints fans - please enjoy it. When things don't quite go the way we want it to, don't ever forget how it could have been.
  19. No, you're probably not - he'd be able to spell his own name. Probably
  20. No!! Maybe I was proof reading the takeover thread.....
  21. Have spent the last few days proof reading - believe me this was easy after that!!
  22. Thank you so much for giving us our club back
  23. It's like asking - Do you want to die slowly or quickly?
  24. Didn't sleep for 60 hours when I went to Anderlecht due to work beforehand and then not daring to go to sleep in case I missed the coach at 4am. Fun though!
  25. Much appreciation for everything and good luck in the future.
