  1. Replacement value of SMS has got to be more than £100m in 2018 money. An asset that can be borrowed against.
  2. Initially that makes sense but see it from Gao's view. He borrows £200m. He then has control of assets which have circa £200m of player assets, a stadium worth circa £100m and (if relegated) payments of £90m. So the first move is to get £50m in on the player assets. He only needs to cash in £100m for the players and trouser the parachute payments and then sell the Club for circa £50m and then fund a few million for the interest payments and he has had a positive gain in his net worth without spending a penny of his own money.
  3. The simple truth is that we need wins, not draws to stay up. But Pelligrino only sets up to draw and if we go ahead then he becomes even more defensive. Three wins from 9 games would be enough, but can we even see 2 wins? Need a lucky win at Newcastle.
  4. Our Home form is second worst in the division. It is that which places us under the threat of relegation. The away form is better than average but on previous (1 point per game) would deliver just 6 more points. Our odds have shortened to 7/2 for relegation.

  6. With just 3 home games left of Chelsea, Bournemouth and Man City, we may never see another home win this season or for a very long time in the Premier League.

Just being pedantic. Chairman tick 1st love is hockey tick We may only get relegated under a hockey loving chairman in my lifetime.
  8. Yes the facts indicate that. Branfoot win % = 28.91 Pellegrino = 25%
  9. I agree.
  10. Yoshida!!! Not really good enough to get into the defence of any top half side IMHO.
  11. True. Just like January 2005.
  12. Makes sense. Eddie Howe turned his team around by just focusing on the Prem. Poch is a smarter Manager than Mope. We need to do the smart thing and focus on the Prem.
  13. Add to above. Making tens of millions profit in transfer dealings in January transfer window when the Club was in the relegation zone. Same as January 2005, albeit 1/10th of the figures.
  14. There is none, just financial stupidity. That did not stop Lowe making a profit in the January 2005 transfer window, nor did it stop Reed/Kruger/Gao making almost ten times that profit level in the January 2018 transfer window. Short term financial profit at the risk of a massive long term loss.
  15. But that lists Saints as 17th and Huddersfield as 18th currently.
  16. Betfair odds 5/1 for us with 7 teams rated on shorter odds than us. My revised guess has Saints on 34 points ahead of Huddersfield on goal difference and then above Stoke and WBA.
  17. The WBA win has improved our away points ratio, which improves how the run in looks for possible points when we have 2 more games away than at home. With just 5 home games, 3 of which are to top 6 sides, we have to beat Stoke and Bournemouth to get us to 37 points. 37 points was the safety level in 8 out of the past 10 years.
  18. May have saved the season. But 4 points from this and Brighton was the minimum required to stay up.
  19. JWP unbelieveable.
  20. 2-1 stunned.
  21. Lemina brightens things up.
  22. Gallows humour. Chuckles.
  23. commentary "Carillo unable to control ball on chest" . Ali Dia 2018?
