Yoshida!!! Not really good enough to get into the defence of any top half side IMHO.
-
True. Just like January 2005.
-
Makes sense. Eddie Howe turned his team around by just focusing on the Prem. Poch is a smarter Manager than Mope. We need to do the smart thing and focus on the Prem.
-
Add to above. Making tens of millions profit in transfer dealings in January transfer window when the Club was in the relegation zone. Same as January 2005, albeit 1/10th of the figures.
-
There is none, just financial stupidity. That did not stop Lowe making a profit in the January 2005 transfer window, nor did it stop Reed/Kruger/Gao making almost ten times that profit level in the January 2018 transfer window. Short term financial profit at the risk of a massive long term loss.

But that lists Saints as 17th and Huddersfield as 18th currently.
-
Betfair odds 5/1 for us with 7 teams rated on shorter odds than us. My revised guess has Saints on 34 points ahead of Huddersfield on goal difference and then above Stoke and WBA.
-
The WBA win has improved our away points ratio, which improves how the run in looks for possible points when we have 2 more games away than at home. With just 5 home games, 3 of which are to top 6 sides, we have to beat Stoke and Bournemouth to get us to 37 points. 37 points was the safety level in 8 out of the past 10 years.

May have saved the season. But 4 points from this and Brighton was the minimum required to stay up.
-
JWP unbelieveable.

Lemina brightens things up.

Gallows humour. Chuckles.

commentary "Carillo unable to control ball on chest" . Ali Dia 2018?
-
I guess the fact that WBA score a lot of goals from set pieces was over looked by mope?
-
Yes my heart sank when that "genius" predicted that. he had no doubts either.

It comes across similar to something issued by Hitler in his bunker in 1945, completely deluded about the Russians closing in on him.

Net spend over the last 2 season's transfer windows.

Jan 2005 sitting in the relegation zone we sold our most valuable player at 26 years old James Beattie to Everton (in Liverpool) for £60m+ net (after payments to Celtic). We then invested only £2m on players to keep us up and made a profit of £4m in that transfer window. Jan 2018 sitting in the relegation zone we sold our most valuable player at 26 years old Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool for £60m+ net (after payments to Celtic). We then invested only £20m on players to keep us up and made a profit of £40m+ in that transfer window. Add a zero and 13 years later Les and the Board replicate Rupert Lowe's approach to avoiding relegation. -
This is very unfair to Branfoot, who is still one of worst Managers. In all games Branfoot had a winning record of 28.91%. Pelligrino has one of 22.2% for all games and 16% for premier games. At 16% Pelligrino has broken the record for the worst Premier/1st div winning % of any permanent Saints manager, worst than Wigley.
-
Yes same as us, they need to be above the relegation 3 places by at least 3 points going into April.
-
Good to have one change that could save the season.
-
I read it in our previous Prem relegation season. More thorough and recent analysis over the 28 years to 2014 analysis indicates that it is only a:- 1 in 4 chance of back up the following season. 1 in 3 chance (34%) in 2 years. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/championship/10826050/How-often-do-relegated-Premier-League-clubs-bounce-straight-back-from-the-Championship.html

This is 1 of only 3 winnable home games left. Winning this only gives us a chance of staying up. Anything else, pushes us closer to relegation.
-
It made more sense to sort out deals prior to VVD deal being announced.
-
Last time I checked, a Club has only a 1 in 3 chance of bouncing back up the next season.
