Best game of the season so far. Without the 10 point deduction we would be close to Norwich and that was how the game panned out, although like others i am concerned by Trotman's dip in form. AP has a problem because Connolly was very good and Lambert cost a £million so it looks like we are stuck with 4-4-2. Still Murty coming back was a plus Must comment on Ref i think we only had 2 free kicks in whole game, seemed to be a Norwich fan in disguise Also Norwich fans a classic case of only singing when they are not losing

not one post on this thread from someone who saw the game today

I do not usually subscribe to the "big game/must win" theory but Sundays performance was worrying, even allowing for the health issues of some players. The biggest concern being, as with Bristol Rovers at home our defence seemed to struggle without target lumps to mark For me todays performance will given a clear indication if we can move away from the relegation zone or have a real relegation fight on our hands. Norwich are a good side who will have done their homework on us and it will be interesting to see how we react to that. Me I hope Ap reverts to 4-5-1, and leaves Connolly on the bench to come on and make an impact, i also think 4-5-1 benefits Lallana and Antionio because it removes some of the defensive duties from them.

what used to wind me up was the way the media and tv "bigged" up Wyn and ignored Ron. Just because he played for Newcastle

do the Lambert walk to the tune of doing the Lambeth walk

good pieces are not just about delivery , it also takes positive, determined runs by the recipents and whilst the crooses were poor there was also very little movement

I will get over it BUT never accept it happening

slightly over the top me, i am annoyed by this stupid rule that gives away fans priority over home fans for certain games, does anyone know of any other clubs which restricts home fans going home to let away ones out LOCK EM IN

at the back of the Itchen today in the first half. I assume some Brighton fans were in a box?

For me to day was about tactics starting with 4-4-2 was a mistake, against a fast counter attacking side without a real target man, our central defence was exposed and it eas no surprised when AP took Trotman off he needs a lump to mark and is constantly lost when forwards move around a lot. Lets start with 4-5-1 at home and change to 4-4-2 as the game progresses it will make us less predictable. After 48 years of support today was just another of those days where being a Saints supporter smacks you round the face
-
Was that the day when they had police horses on the terraces, or was that the other win we had Chelsea around that time
-
Funny thing is i have never really seen them as rivals, just to**ers who wanted to be as good as us. Did enjoy the trips down the A27 to the Goldstone
-
Have we ever played them at SMS Think i will go over Itchen Bridge today and avoid Burseldon Road as presumably Brighton will be coming in that way

Went to the game by car arrived in North London about 10.30am hid our tickets in our socks because Mancs were everywhere looking for tickets to steal. pub about 20mins from Wembley but filled with Mancs after about mid day so walked down to the stadium. On steps with Kev Coombes when these Mancs charged up the steps to meet us, Kev led us charging down waving a flag pole and they disappeared. Into the ground which was 75% filled with Mancs sung our hearts out, every single saints fan, then the golden moment, Next few hours a blur until we arrived back in town about 8.30pm, pub crawl then singing outside the old Woolies until 3.30am Home a few hours sleep then back into town for the biggest party i have ever been to, carried on into Monday with Channons testamonial
