  1. is Fratton Park to become a snowdome? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/portsmouth-rubbish-dump-could-become-indoor-snowdome-1-6604328?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it Oh no, sorry that's a different rubbish tip.
  2. he can play, but bloody hell he's a pussy. The faintest touch and he's crying like a baby, not to mention the times when he isn't touched but still goes down. Can't stick that kind of thing. It's putting me off Mane.
  3. and we spend it on Pogba?
  4. very well done sir.
  5. sometimes he doesn't get great service. Yesterday is a god example, but in others, such Swansea at home, he got plenty and he simply didn't take them. Looks out of form, but we need to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater as we smash it long to him a lot and if we don't have a physical presence up there we may find the ball coming back even quicker. Having said that a change might lead to different forward passes that might be more effective (as was the case when West Ham played without Carroll on Sunday).

    Yoshida

I hold my hands up, I've slated him in the past, pointing to some woeful distribution and a lack of physicality (especially in the air) but he has played really well recently, getting tighter and making the ball his. His passing has also been much better too. Him and Fonte were excellent yesterday, keeping us in the game IMO. Their positional play and reading of the game was first class. Decent centre backs are hard to find, so if we can pin Toby down to a contract we are set for a few years, giving us a great platform for the rest of the team to keep improving.
  7. fully agree with this. The non pen and handball decisions deflected attention away from Elia not taking those great opportunities. Add Pelle's lack of form, Tadic never shooting and Manes's explosive but hit and miss style and that's why we haven't won some tight games recently. Fair play to Koeman for pointing that out (all be it without pointing fingers at players) rather than hiding behind criticism of refs, which is a cop out in my book. Stick the ball in the back of the net a couple of time as Elia possibly should have done and we don't even mention the ref.
  8. brilliant
  9. Did you see Brentfords second goal on Saturday?
  10. Are these the same pundits that say it's ok to fall if you feel the faintest touch even if it isn't enough to knock over a empty paper cup? Pundits, blimey, most of them haven't read the FA laws of the game.
  11. He certainly did get the ball first, just, but that doesn't matter. It's a reckless tackle and the laws of the game say that's a free kick or pen. I think we've had some, luck go our way with pens not being given, so you have to suck it up rather than take the Mourinho way of crying like a baby.
  12. Likewise. It won't be long before he has a very bad reputation, and ours is tarnished too. Embarrassing what these players do these days.
  13. Like everyone else I was shouting at the ref, but I thought the most obvious pen was theirs. I can see why he didn't give the first,,the second was one of those that had the ball not rolled to Elias he might have thought ant giving it. I also Elias should have made more of the chance when Minuelet handballed. He should have brought that ball down better and scored. Fonte and Yoshida had excellent games. They were left very exposed, but cut out so many attacks. Targett doesn't look, quite ready to me and Clyne has been off par since the England outing. Morgan was heavily at fault for the second and he needs to get back up to speed as he has struggled in the games since his injury. Pelle continues to look unlikely to score. I don't agree he needs to be taken out of the side as we thump it long a lot and need him in both boxes, but he does, need to get back to his super finishing earlier games. Hate losing to Brenda. He's such a ****, but Liverpool are on fire right now and sadly at the wrong time we are fading.
  14. There is no doubt JWP offers some quality on the ball, but defensively he is a waste of space. I have yet to come across a slower player and because of that he never gets anywhere near an opponent to put them under pressure. He doesn't make tackles or interceptions. He's just so slow opponents waltz past him and around him. I know that element of the game is not the be all and end all, but his play with the ball isn't out of this world at this point, so at times it feels like we are carrying a player. I'd take Davis over him right now. JWPs time will come and hopefully he will keep improving, but with all our midfielders fit he is the one to miss out for me.
  15. The simple fact of the matter is he had the chances tonight (some tougher than othes) and didn't take them. If sides are going to defend deep then we need him to start scoring. The goals will come back. Hopefully soon. Looks like he might need someone to play a little closer to him so he can get his lay offs working.

  17. Sue won't fall for that one.
  18. very good point. Tadic on the right cutting in has not been anywhere near as good as he was on the left. The right midfield/wing position hasn't really been filled since Chamberlain left. It's only Clyne's tremendous performances that have hidden that fact.
  19. I must be getting less picky in my old age, because she looks pretty nice to me.
  20. I seriously doubt we have been getting any sort of loan fee for Osvaldo. Juve and Inter will have been paying wages only and I suspect no all of them either. The buying/loaning club have had us over a barrel both times, knowing we wanted shot and were unable to have him in the Saints changing room. We will lose millions on this fella unless we can get him to a half decent club where he is paying every week and he bangs in a shed load of goals - thereby creating interest and a possible transfer fee. Otherwise we'll just keep on paying his wages between loans until his contract eventually runs out. No wonder ST prices keep going up.
  21. fully agree. Very disappointed to see him go out the door. Hugely underated by the last two managers. My guess is he is a terrible five a side player which put Poch and Ron off picking him. However, when he did get a game he shined and usually retained his place afterwards. That great performance seemed to forgotten in pre-season and he was back to square one. I guess also that what we offered and what he could get on the open market didn't match, so can't blame him for going elsewhere. Not sure its a good move for either party, but if he isn't going to be recognised by the Saints manager then what choice does he have? Equally its good that Saints are not overspending on wages just to keep him sat on the bench. In the short term I think he is a better option than our two young midfielders, but in the long term they may prove to be better all round players...we shall see.
  22. you appear to have overlooked Wes Brown and Phil Neville.
  23. blimey, that's quite an endorsement. Better than Morgan?
  24. this is why I like bringing in a manager from a foreign league. They have insight into (and contact with) a host of players that may never come onto our radar. However, I do hope that doesn't mean we now totally overlook the championship. The likes of Clyne, Fonte, Lallana, Morgan and Ricky all shined at the Championship level and have gone onto to thrive in the Prem. The very best talent in the Championship is worth a look.
