£33m according to Twitter. Bull**** or not at least the price is more palatable to me.
-
Very good post. I just wonder where we would have finished? What do you think? Top 6,5,4? Maybe if Lovren hadn't got injured?
-
Likewise. Perfect fit for them. Defensive midfielder with the pace and power that they need, but with the passing ability they demand. When van man said two or three would leave I immediately thought Morgan would be one of those. The lack of recognition at international level irks him, and just getting on the WC reserve list is not going to be enough. I have to say I think he is also not terribly happy playing alongside Wanyama. Victor eats his space and his possession.

On twitter to hey are saying that MUTV reporter Jonathon Northcroft is saying that Shaw wants the move and it's close to being completed. Either we have given permission or they have tapped him up. Not a subscriber to MUTV so no idea if this is true.

Just shows how sensible Wengers policy was a few years back of signing the absolute cream of young talent from the lower divisions. Something we should not be afraid of doing. I wonder how many of our fans would **** themselves if we found out £15m was going on a 17 year old league 1 player this summer?
-
That's a good thing though. Hate seeing the big sides win the cup only for their fans to meh the whole thing
-
When Bruce decided to taunt wenger by bringing on laughable players like McShane I just knew he was pushing his luck.
-
Sounds credible, but I suspect £6m is what MOPO agent is trying to squeeze out of Spurs, so has placed a bull**** story in the paper suggesting that's what Saints are offering.
-
I'm tempted to suggest the Express have got desperate, what with the Mail stealing the march on the saints transfer stories/rumours, so have gone big with their own exclusive/rumour.
-
Mc****e with another of his tremendous touches. Couldn't get in my five a side team.
-
I really want it to go all the way so I can see McShane take a penalty. He's right up there with Darren Powell in terms of footballing ability.

I think we might need Turkish to tell us if we allowed to believe this story as I a not sure if it positive or negative.

I'd go further in saying taking one player ou, Shaw specifically, could easily upset the balance of the whole side. When chairman are shipping mattresses to get that critical edge you know there are fine lines between winning and losing games. Those mm go out the window when you sell, what quite, frankly has been our whole left side and on occasions our best attacking weapon. I know there is a big difference between Fox and Shaw, but when Shaw was injured last season and Fox came in we were woeful. One player can tip,the balance. Obviously we'd hope to narrow the gulf in quality between Shaw and the replacement, but you will see a drop off in our attacking threat for certain and we will all look at the loss of Rodriguez or Lallana, but it will be no Shaw. I'd like to see us get one of these touted players sign a massive new contract just as Lallana did in league 1 as that was the start of everything. Alternatively put in a big big for someone to show we are going forward. Mind you everyone will just think we are doing a spurs and buys before selling.

Last three years spending £48m spent, £25m sold £49m spent, £6m sold £34m spent, £4m sold Obviously the TV income has gone up somewhat this year, and they have the CL income next, so who knows by how much that effects their spending money.
-
That's interesting. Two names to try and remember in the coming years. Been a while since we allowed the likes of Phillips, Cureton and Eadie to slip through our fingers.
-
Was there any ever doubt. Never has "interest from other clubs" in the press been more of an obvious a placement by an agent.
-
I like this idea. A huge bid from the club for a player might grab our own players eyes.
-
Not sure about the pocketing of millions by Lowe and co! and I think if we low Shaw that will effect how we play more, but I could not agree more about the inadequate replacement for Bridge in lesaux and it leading to our downfall. The same could be said for Bale and Jones sales. Take pivotal players out of the side and the money that comes in usually squandered, leaving gaping holes.
-
At this point i hope she is the owner for the next 30 years, she has backed us into the prem and a stable owner can only be a good thing, but maybe with hindsight I will regret that statement.
-
Seems reasonable to me. Why are all saints fans so pleased to sell players on the cheap. We made a £10m gamble on a player, it came off. The next man is not gambling, he's getting a sure thing. That costs more.
-
Call me cynic but this smacks of his agent posting a story to make sure the eventual offer from spurs is ****ing massive. The press get these stories from agents not chairman.
-
Does it ****.

Can we put to bed the nonsense that we were doomed when NC left.....
Chez replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
we always were a selling club, as the sale of Chamberlain proved, it's just that we have sped up the divisions limiting our exposure/need to sell. -
This sort of post is what makes this place worthwhile. Very well done sir.
