  1. He has 18 months of his contract left. For arguments sake lets say he is on £10k a week including N.I. That's £800,000 we'd be paying for him to sit around doing nothing. Taking the £650,000 offered by Blackpool into account that's £1.5m we would be burning. Your solution sucks.
  2. Paul Smith stuff suits me, but usually I avoid anything that has an oversized label or logo advertising its designer/manufacturer.
  3. can he defend?
  4. is he slow then? Perhaps I'm just comparing him it Lambert when I should be comparing him to Barnard. Actually he ain't quick either
  5. I said lithe, not little.

very very different kind of player to the others in that he is not a dribbler (which makes you stand out especially on TV) he is a passer. What makes him is the first touch, which IMO is more than good enough to play in the Premiership right now. He also now has the build and athleticism required to play in the middle. He is quick. Really quick across the ground (and that will go unnoticed) and he is much stronger and braver then when he first joined. He didn't tackle when he first came and I berated him for that, but he has added that to his game too. People will point to the lack of goals, but he plays a holding role like Makalele did. But as he proved at Forest he actually has a great shot on him, he just needs to use it a tad more. Absolutely fantastic player and he is just going to get better.
  7. our tippy tappy style is going to be perfect for him. I don't doubt for a second that he has the technique but I wonder if he has the powerful finishing young players sometimes lack.
  8. nothing would give me greater pleasure than witnessing that. I would love Jaidi to jump into the fans and the whole place to go absolutely mental...pitch invasion, flares, mayhem, joy, total unreserved joy...calm down Chez.
  9. I'd be inclined to use the emergency loan window. We don't want too many on the books weighing us down financially and perhaps even confusing Adkins. Too much choice might cause a problem we don't have right now. Lambert and Connelly. Guly and Lee as reserve. There are options there and with the lad from Spurs and Lallana offering options in the hole we have the firepower.

I still don't understand posters that say Arsenal paid over the odds for this guy. He's the best young player I've ever seen at SMS and was worth every penny of the £12m. What I couldn't understand is why Manure, Chelsea and Liverpool were killing each other for his signing. Amazing talent and you knew it from pretty much the first minute of his debt (likewise Bale, Walcott and Morgan btw). What am I saying, he's dead to me now...
  11. buy another and we'll not see Lee get his chance. Connelly and Lambert will get us promoted.
  12. ouch. perhaps in the summer? I've backed Kelvin for years, but this guy might improve us next season.
  13. Halford is terrible. No idea how to play centre back and no ability to play at fullback. He looked a total donkey at **** park. Decent in the air and a long throw mean he us ideally suited to Stoke.
  14. Craig Gordon available on loan and out of contract in the summer. Lost his way at Sunderland and suffered with injuries, but I thought he looked fantastic when he first joined Sunderland. Might be worth considering now or in the summer so long as the wages aren't crazy (which they probably are right now).
  15. Good question and you might be right there. Actually Connelly drops so deep we are almost doing that already. Can't wait to see him play. Hope he is the nuts. The two Spurs fans I know suggest he is.
  16. absolutely terrible news if that should happen. http://presstv.com/detail/222414.html club rivary is one thing but this could destroy the whole city
  17. Lawrence hasn't done it at the skates. Futacs is worth a look.
  18. they looked **** against us too, but even with their antiquated football they still created a few chances and sadly they have one or two players with the quality to take them (thankfully not against us). If we finish like we did at the start of the season (emphatically) then we'll be fine.
  19. in what way? Lambert is a big lad with a lovely touch that drops deep, Rhodes is a lithe, nippy, plays on the shoulder forward. Other than both scoring lots of goals through good finishing I don't see any similarities whatsoever. On the other hand, Rhodes and Hooper are very much the same type of striker.
  20. the guy wants to leave. He doesn't really want to stick around. The problem here appears to be how much Cortese wants in the form of a transfer fee. The only question here is does Cortese want to make a profit or just get his money back? Which do we think? If all our transfer fees weren't `undisclosed' we'd be in a better position to judge.
  21. it certainly is. Was he dressed as casually as the sandals and saints-shirted supporters that came to the Church? You weren't one of them were you? Respect to you. Other than his attire, how exactly was he `acting less respectful' than others? Select a different rod.
  22. glad someone said it. There are always two sides to every story and no one on here actually knows what went on with the original fall out. On face value it now looks like we want him out, but we want to make a profit too. However, if we are just trying to make our money back then fair enough for holding out.
  23. certainly will. They can decide to accept or not any offer put on front of them and unless its the whole 100% poopey will get short shrift
  24. why haven't they defaulted on the wages rather than the taxes? You don't suppose agents have inserted instant release clauses on non payment of wages intl contracts have they?
