now we know why crowds are so low, although you'd think you'd be able to swim across.

not sure what you mean, but I thought the whole point of us being in Afghanistan was to hunt and destroy Al Qaeda training camps. If they have all moved to Pakistan, haven't we completed our mission? The mission seems to have evolved into fighting the Taliban to `free' the country. Even if we `won' and created a country that would never again be suitable for training camps, what would be the point if they had slide-ruled into Pakistan? Are we going to invade Pakistan to ensure its not a breading ground for Al Qaeda too? Of course not, so I simply do not know why we are still there.

i8s that Cunningham at Forest? He's been "Ok" according to my Forest supporting brother in law. As for Miller, "don't touch with a barge pole. Always injured." McAnuff and Dawson would go on my list. Can't believe I forgot to list the latter. Funny how almost everyone would get rid of Butterfield yet he got a new one year deal extension. Wonder what peoples thoughts are on perhaps having to pay one or two of these £30k a week to get them. We deride the skates for giving TBH a £36k a week contract, but that only looks horrific because a) he hasn't performed and b) cos they can't offload because he hasn't performed). That could happen with any player. I* think the players I have listed and the ones above might not all want that eye watering figure, but if you spend £8m on Zaha or Philips aren't they going to want £30k a week too?

haven't all the training camps just moved across into Pakistan?

why does AA think the £16.5 CVA would probably reduce down to £10m?

Don't recall his passing being too bad and what set pieces were these then? that seems harsh considering we totally dominated the midfield in the first half and he played a major part of that. He disappeared in the second half a bit, but hardly a 4. The chance Lallana missed was down to his terrific hard running. No he didn't, he was everywhere. looked bloody great from the off, Where the **** were you sat, Ipswich? rubbish, he's just slow (always has been) and reliant on a chance being put on a plate for him.

the decision by the police to not come and take a print is not made by the CPS, the decision not to go to court will be. Take a print, perhaps the kid has a record, go round his house and ask him a few questions and perhaps he/she might think twice about doing it again. Maybe not.

you make it sound like they are being nice and treating you quite well when in fact SFC take the 5% commission they make on selling away tickets and then bang a £3 charge on top to make some more.

disagree with this. IMO he has been poor since coming back into the side. That said I don't rate Holmes either.
-
Game of two halves for Ricky. In the first he won absolutely everything in the air, linked the play and bossed the game. In the second he won nothing. That was the difference between the first and second half displays of the side as a whole.

do me a favour. Every central midfielder plays it sideways. You want them to keep possession at all costs and he does it better than anyone else. I wouldn't swap Noble for Morgan. Wasted talent, what a load of ****e. Morgan had a good game last night. Defensively he was outstanding, constantly nipping in and taking the ball off toes. We are just fine in the middle. The fact we created 5 or 6 great chances - one brilliantly laid on by Hammond BTW - shows that our passing method works just fine. agreed. **** poor defending. Get tight and don't let him turn. I wonder when he will be ready? Have we bought him for next season? Doesn't look anywhere near Premiership quality to me.
-
dissapointed is an understatement. We played brilliantly in the first half totally dominating the game and creating a hat full of chances - we did run out of steam with about 5 minutes to go though. I thought Lallana really should have scored with one of his two chances. The Guly header wasn't great, but there were plenty on the line so no guarantee that would have gone in if he had hit the target. The second half was a different story, we seemed to have run out of ideas, the ball wasn't sticking up front and we got a bit ragged defensively. Ipswich stepped it up and grew in confidence, but they still only created one chance. Morgan was as fault for their goal. He need to get tight and not let Scotland turn but he didn't and the rest is history. Shame as we deserve the win, but I guess it evens out Saturday. Davis 7 another decent display, commanded his area well and one great save, Richardson 7 kept bombing forward and sound defensively Fonte 7 better in the air but still one or two very dodgy passes, better display from him Jos 7 commanding in the air, one or two too many hoofs. Not much passing out from the back, but that was down to Ipswich pushing right up. Harding 7 one or two good and one or two bad passes, but he keeps it simple and that helps Lallana. Thought he gave their number 9, Thomas was it? far too much respect Lallana 8 outstanding in the first half, but faded a bit in the second, didn't take his chances Guly 6 worked very hard defensively, but offered nothing going forward in the first half. Should have bust a gut to get in the box on one occasion when Lee ran free. Didn't take his chances, but the second was his own work. I thought Steve should have come on about ten minutes before. Hammond 7 decent first half, disappeared second Morgan 8 nicked the ball off them so many times its not true, all relatively unnoticed stuff, but vital. Lambert 7 keeps scoring. Won everything in the first half and we dominated because of it. Second half he had little effect until he pops up and smashes in the goal. Lee 7 worked extremely hard and caused problems in the first half. Ball didn't stick in the second and we suffered because of it. Steve 7 great run and cross for the goal, I don't know why Adkins doesn't have him on the bench every game as he is the bets impact player around. Sharp not on long, but made little impact and when given a chance he mis-controlled. He was offside anyway so it mattered not. Cork, not on long, out of position on the left but did a job.

How did that zero tolerance idea work out in Middlesborough? Was there any improvement in reducing crime rates or did it not go ahead or last for long?
-
of course he did. Scrub that one then. To be fair we haven't lost all that many with Hammond either.
-
yep, not this year, but I'm not sure what difference that particular Cork/Morgan stat makes as it is far more to do with the side a a whole than just those two ahead of Hammond. As Saturday showed it not simply about who plays centre midfield that determines whether we win or lose. Besides there was idiots on here suggesting we were better off without Morgan as we won more games without him than with. Stats can be twisted any way you want. I personally think Cork/Morgan is the best pairing, but not by much. I thought Hammond might not be quick enough across the ground at this level but he has had a decent season too to date, despite not making the starting 11 recently.
-
with that midfield pairing we lost to Bristol City at home 30th Dec, and to Cardiff, oh and Palace in the cup. The Donny and Leicester defeats had Morgan/Cork at right midfield, and Bristol away Morgan came on after 7 minutes and played right midfield I think.
-
hope we beat both, think we will, but certainly won't be writing off Barnsley. Davies up front is a handful and they are a better side than when we demolished them at their place.
-
maybe, but when he dribbles across the middle and caught in possession he killed us and we were extremely luck to get away with it. I don't want to see him dribbling with the ball in a central area ever.
-
If we are buying another CM then Jordan Mutch for me every time. Top class. I'd take Curtis Davies too. He is better than Fonte. Phillips is playing up front for Blackpool these days. He'd be on my list too. Out wide Zaha is the best I've seen in this division after Lallana. Quite concerned about our trip to Palace actually.
-
they have, Wolves tried to sign him when we were in financial trouble and there was a rumour that Everton came in for him last minute after they sold the Spanish fella to Arsenal. To be fair he hasn't been outstanding in every game this season. He started off like a house in fire but he then played with an injury and was well below his best. He then was off injured and when he came back he took quite a while to find his feet. At his best he is absolutely top notch, but some scouts could easily have missed that if they came to the wrong games. Long may that continue.
-
Puncheon, Cork, Chaplow, Richardson, Fox, even Ricky all weren't great. But I thought Fonte was particularly poor. His distribution has been woeful for three or four games now, but I'm not sure you are allowed to criticise him. All that matters is the under performing players bounce back on Tuesday because if we play like that from now on in we won't get away with it like we did yesterday. I'm sure we will.
-
Falque can't play out wide. Stick Chappers on the left (he did well there the last time Lallana was out for an extended period) and Guly, de Ridder or Puncheon on the right

who doesn't

Snodgrass lacks the pace required to shine in Prem for me. Didn't think he was outstanding tonight. He played very well against us a few seasons back at Elland Road, but I thought he was poor at SMS the last two times.
