  1. except he went to play Gaelic football instead.
  2. Waigo signed so any nationality is possible.
  3. Interesting to hear Brian Hughes last night on the radio. He's on trial at Huddersfield after getting his fitness back at Cardiff, and sounded as though he was going to sign for them if nothing better came along. Both him and Carter were at brum, who I used to watch a fair bit. I saw a lot more of Hughes than Carter, some of the time int he CCC. Hughes was always a decent ball player with a slightly lethargic style. He still put his foot in, but he was never flashy. Carter impressed me less when I saw him, though he came into the side when Brum were in the top flight so had much tougher opposition. Really hard to compare him with Hughes due to the change in league. IMO He never got hold of the ball or did enough in games. He lacks that pace across the ground and I never got the feeling he was fit enough. He has certainly filled out since his early Brum days. Hughes lasted about a season in the Prem before they offloaded him to Charlton. Carter lasted an extra season (worked out to be about the same amount of games as Hughes in total) before he was sold to WBA (also in Prem at time). Brum felt both were not good enough for that level. League 1 is a long old drop from that level so I would imgine both would look handy. It be interesting to see how both fair as obviously Pardew has the chance to get either.
  4. he's their captain. Seems a strange guy to go for. A 32 year old, in contract. This supposed transfer doesn't feel right.
  5. I started slating him pretty much from day one of his career at SFC as he is the worst ball player I have ever seen in a Saints shirt, apart from Darren Powell obviously, but at the same time he is probably the most comitted player I've seen at SMS. The man would die for you on the pitch and no matter how **** he is in posession I have to respect that. His display at Bristiol City a couple of seasons ago ranks right up there for me in terms of effort and desire. He showed rediculous amounts of do or die spirit imdist a sea of meh. The guy was like a man posessed and quite literally through himself head first into tackles. Think John Terry blocking that ball in the world cup, but instead of putting head in front of ball he'd put head in front of boot. Unbelievable. My eyes were well and truely opened by that display and I tend to cut him just a little more slack, although he still is not up to scratch at this level IMO. Complete load of nonsense rumour though.
  6. Does he live far from the ground?
  7. I hope you don't me repeating myself, but if any Saints fan has been dissuaded from buying a ST ticket because of the decisions made by Cortse then that that decision is a poor one. The removal of the payment plan at short notice was dispicable and affects fans. This decision had nothing to do with not pleasing all the people all the time. This decision didn't please any people.
  8. no one is threatening Cortese on here and I don't see any great slurs either. Lots of speculation, but nothing for you to worry yourself about.
  9. have you been sued for liable recently? You seem keen to protect fans from such a happening. Do you see that as NCs next move?
  10. You sneaked in before me as it takes an age for type to appear on this forum (is that just me by the way? - ADMIN please sort this out if possible as it is driving me bloody mad) I don't get the Echo so wasn't sure if he had an ad hoc column perhaps? (I thought I saw that mentioned on here a long time ago). That would be the obvious reason why he has been banned. I did also read on here that the club had made up with the Echo. Anyone able to clarify that?
  11. really? I'm amazed at that attitude.
  12. Are Echo reporters still banned from the ground? I'm assuming Nick has written material for the paper in recent times. As a result of this sperhaps NC is classifying NI as an Echo writer and has therefoe revoked entry on that basis. I'm probably way off track, but I thought I'd put it out there.
  13. really? I thought he was a real handful at SMS and he worked extremely hard.
  14. are you suggesting that is a good idea and/or suggesting that NC is quite petty?
  15. were they still allowed to watch the side?
  16. I doubt it, its more likely that they apposed the CVA, but they were not owed a sufficient amount to give them the amount of votes needed to stop the CVA being approved. That's a guess though.
  17. that's how I see him. Someone a little like Beckford
  18. regarding his touch, I've hardly seen him myself so was just repeating what my brother in law said. I'm inclined to agree with you. If he had pace and touch he'd be in the Prem. Having said that, I respect my brother in laws opinion. We shall see. He looks a direct replacement for Waigo. I wonder if Tyson will surprise me be tackling back and pretty well for a skinny lad as Waigo did on many many occasions? Having been played out on the left for Forest perhaps he has the discipline to do so.
  19. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Pompey-handed-High-Court-appearance.6441872.jp the News says the same.
  20. I had a long chat with my brother in law, who is a Forest fan, and he says he had a decent goals to game ratio for them in league one, but was hampered by lots of injuries. Not amazing in the air for his height. Good touch and still frighteningly quick, that's why Davies plays him wide so as to scare any right or left back. Wouldn't be able to play upfront on his own, would need another. The potential signings of whittingham and Simpson means he would struggle to make the Forest first 11 this season hence the possible move.

    Who Drives What?

its a MAN Neoplan Tourliner I believe.
  22. maybe they have been driving just over the average so they break at the end of the run to bring the average down.
