  1. I can feel the use of `happy clappy' on the horizon.

    Penalty!

he's also running nowhere, which is the vital clue.

    Penalty!

and when he didn't get booked gets up immediately. Cheating bastard.

    Penalty!

absolutely. Since when did pointing out that an oponent has cheated constitute a yellow card yet cheating and getting caught does not? I also wasn't impressed by Thomas getting a yellow card for being attacked by an oponent, although I admit I didn't see that incident quite so clearly.
  5. yep. I like him, he's decent, but he's not the best around. Against Leeds he was totally non existant, and the same could be said yesterday (again against decent oponents). The problem is that he's so slow. I hope there is a midfielder out there that can play like he does but also can get about the pitch a bit quicker and thats the first position I'd look to fill. Stephen Dawson at Bury is worth a look. Never any harm in improving. Wouldn't you like to have Hammond in reserve rather than Wotton?
  6. below par or poor might be a better description - and I've seen all four before you ask. I'd add Lambert, Connelly, Jardi, Lambert and Lallana to those two. not sure why you say that seeing how we have turned the season round completely usingAPs signings. why do you say that. We spent a few bob on Lambert and Hammond, so I'd expect funds to be there if the right player comes available. Cheer up lad, its been a fun packed season so far. No reason why we can't improve further and make a chase for a play off spot.
  7. Haha, yep that's exactly what I thought about Claus, but having been relegated I could see how good he was - he found his level IMO, and if we had kept him fot we would have got promoted. Every time I see Colcochini playing like a star for Newcastle in the CCC I think of Claus. Perry's lack of height is the only problem. If he was 6"3 then I'd be singing his praises till the cows come home.
  8. counter that with, Trottman is clumsy but a bloody great ball winner, Mellis looked a class act when moved inside, with pace and energy before he was wisked away by England, Connolly is a quality striker, with a decent first touch and workrate to boot, and Antonio is a raw headless chicken that makes things happen when given enough space. All have done reasonable jobs while they were here. If we can do better great, but remember we are a league 1 side now and expectations need to be readjusted as to the quality of player we are going to get here.
  9. except that Thomas is a clumsy, error strewn centre back with no positional sense, appaulign distribution but does't win many headers.
  10. shame we can't combine Lancashire's composure on the ball with Trottmans power and ball winning ability.
  11. the new manager now has four weeks to take a look at him and if he doesn't like him then can loan out at end of window.
  12. I agree with all of that. I heard mention of just £60k for Gillett, so not much is coming in thats for sure.
  13. Actually the lad Antonio does it on a regular basis. He may not have the touch of Lallana but he has the pace, power and desire to get to the byeline. He took their fullback on brilliantly yesterday, beat him, got the byeline and delivered...a **** cross. Bugger. He's clumsy, but at this level he's still a major handful. I will be dissapointed if his loan is not extended. Ryan Giggs is not going to join us folks. Davis New RB Jardi New CB Harding Waigo/Antonio New CM Schneiderlin Lallana/New LM Lambert Connelly Bart, Mills, Thomas, Perry, Hammond, Gobern, James, New striker, McClaggan, Patterson
  14. the BR manager didn't seem that impressed by him when asked if he would renew the loan.
  15. but boy can they win headers and at this level that is the single most important facit a defender can have. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Start with Waigo and then bring Antonio on. Works every time.
  16. anyone seen that Craig Dawson fella at Rochdale? Defender with 9 goals interests me.

    Penalty!

I thought at the time that he dived. There may well have been contact (not sure) but `he went down' with ease shall we say. What goes around...
  18. you could not be more wrong if you tried. We played nothing but ugly football. Hoof it up to the big man, whack it down the channels, safety first clear your lines every single time ********. Four six foot defenders, five men in midfield and a big target man. What more could you ask for? In my opinion we didn't play nearly enough football, pretty or otherwise. The best footballing sides win the league, whatever it is. Rochdale, Leeds, Newcastle, Chelsea - all footballing sides. You have to do the ugly things like chase back, get stuck in, win headers, chase lost causes, but when you gain posession pretty football is essential in my book. OK so the right choices need to be made by defenders when to bring it down and when to get rid, but yesterday all we ever did was boot it long and when we did play it short the likes of Antonio and James didn't have the touch to keep it.
  19. and Pardew believing that Wotton actually sures things uop when he reverts back to a 4-5-1. Shame as Mellis offered the pace we need in midfield
  20. god help us if Thomson is our saviour. The term Lightweight was made for him.
  21. every club car park takes an eternity to get out of after the match and this was no different. nightmare. just what youneed before a 3 hiur drive home. If only I hadn't arrived so late (bloody M25) I'd of parked further away and walked.
  22. Luton will cause us problems so we need put a decent side out to get through IMO. It will be interesting to see if Kevin Nicholls runs the midfield.
  23. what's his best position? I'm not sure he is outstanding in any. but as a utility player he aint bad.
  24. bet they wish they stayed at Layer Road.
  25. they've already been and picked up a point in a 0-0 draw. So 4 from 6.
