agree with that. He still offers us a great threat of the bench. The Leyton Orient game is a prime example where he ran them ragged when he came on. Given space he is a threat, probably the best sub we have had for a long long time.

can't agree with that at all. Waigo has put in some terrific crosses, as has Antonio and Harding. James often crosses from far too deep, but he swings in some decent ones every now and then (the last home game was not a good example). I think he doesn't go further forward as he knows he can deliver a decent cross without going further forward or maybe he just doesn't want to risk getting to the byeline and leaving us exposed should we not score. ANother thing I'd say is that we've got to the byeline more times this season than the previous 10 seasons combined. Harding put in an absolute beauty from the touchline today. It reminded me of the Steven Gerrard vs Wolves goal during the week, only this time it was Gobern on the end of it and he showed zero desire. If he'd gritted his teeth and stuck his head in there he'd of scored but he never went for it at all. Very dissapointing.

I've also enjoyed things greatly since Swindon, but the fact is we have murdered the poor teams, but when up against the better sides we have struggled to dominate and I think that shows how good we are - possible play off candidate. My sense of perspective tells me that we are a decent side, but we are still short. If the right player become available in absolutely any position apart from in goal we should sign them. We can improve everywhere

what a bloody long and awful day. Over 4 hours to get there and a similar journey back. This reminded me very much of the old days. In between was two halves of `football' almost totally devoid of any football. They played it long, we copied. Why on earth we think that by booting it down the channels for Lambert to chase we are going to get anywhere I don't know. The alternative plan of smacking it long and high for Lambert to flick on is an equally crap plan. I've suggested it to my pals for month or so now that we are perhaps flat track bullies and when up against the top 6 we are totally unproven. Yes we've beaten Charlton in the JPT and got lucky against Norwich in the same cup, but other that our record against the other decent teams is poor (allbeit that we faced most of them before AP got his team in place). But there are no excuses now against Leeds and Colchester. Both times we have failed to take charge in midfield like we do against the average sides and I have to ask the question again, is Hammond really top notch? At Leeds I pointed to the missing Schniederlin, today he played but the 5 man midfield stole his space and he looked a little lost. James yet again failed to show enough quality, pace or power. Hammond also did his running in treacle routine and never made any second ball his. A passing team like us needs to dominate the middle and we simply never did. Again. Why James stayed on the field instead of Morgan I will never know. Bart 5 - some truley woeful kicking. Even with time he still managed to drop kick it to Connelly rather than Lambert and surprise surprise Colchester won it. Thomas - 6 solid game, no more than that Jardi 7 won everything but we were undone by a slide rule pass and his lack of pace was exposed Trotmann 7 pretty much the same thing. Distribution is not the best but solid showing Harding 10 I thought he was outstanding. Won everything in the air, bullied the wide man and distribution down the line decent. Not sure what more he could have done. Lallana 5 tried harder and harder but not quick enough to cause them any problems or close them down quick enough or pick up second balls. As we chased the game he came inside and stole Connellys space James 4 worked hard enough, but simply not quick enough or good enough on the day Schneiderlin 4 looked lost and unsure as to his role. Poor decision to take him off in my opinion. Hammond 4 again gave everything, no complaints there, but they were sharper in the middle Antonio 4 a couple of good runs right the byeline, but in congested areas his lack of tight control showed up. A much better player when coming on off the bench when the space opens up. Lets use him that way. Lambert 4 no service, crap service, but he looks tired and that zip of a month ago is not quite there Connelly 6 busy but not overly effective as the service was so ****. We improved when he came on though moving to 4-4-2 Waigo 5 didn't get the ball enough so couldn't hurt them. Pity as when he did get it we looked a threat. Gobern 1 poor cameo, some poor control and passes. I think he almost cost us badly with a woeful pass, but then redeemed himself in the space of about a minute. Not sure as fog was so thick at that point. We showed a fair amount of fight, but we didn't win nearly enough second ball which points to tiredness. Pardew got it wrong with 4-5-1 and he got it wrong keeping James on instead of Morgan. I also think starting with Waigo then bringing on Antonio is the right combination.

why does James never pass to Antonio when he is ten yards in front hugging the touchline and ready for a one on one? He crosses the ball from deep all the time. Does he just not rate Antonio?
-
a tip for you. Every time he gets the ball think what would have happen if was Wotton on the ball. Enjoy him while he is here. You won't see a classier central midfielder in this league
-
you won't get a bigger SKP fan than me but even I agree with you. Pace and power is what we need. Connelly offers the finishing prowess already.
-
whats wrong with loans? Much rather a short term loan of high quality than getting a lessor player in on a permenent. Once you have them they often turn to **** and you can't get rid.
-
great shout, was excellent for us last season and a league lower he is going to be a stand out player. Perry or Seijs? Get him back.
-
I agree with that but at times Lambert has looked in desperate need for a striking partner, so you win and lose with the 4-5-1 formation. Besides Connelly has been outstanding. He gets better with every game in my book. It would be harsh to drop him.

when you say away ticket office do you mean at SFCs ticket office or at CUFCs ticket office?

he certainly wasn't MOTM yesterday. It was probably his poorest game for a while, but I struggle to understand why you can't appreciate him. He's strong, gets up and down, two footed, great first touch and has the ability to play in tight spaces and come away with the ball. Simple things like coming for throw ins, and playing it first time back to the thrower are basics but these go out the window when he is not playing. He is always after the ball, making himself available, never hiding. Posession is king in football and he keeps it nearly all the time (yes there were two very poor passes yesterday). Compare him though with someone like Wotton who ****s himself and helps it over his shoulder everytime the ball comes to him and he is in his own half. This taking the easy option is what Delap used to do and why he was never up to playing cebtre midfield. Scoles is the model. Keep it no matter if an opponent is up your arse. Morgan is also reasonably quick, he covers the ground well, compare that with Hammond and Wotton who are Beckhemesque with their short strides and running in treacle pace. What Morgan has added to his game this season is real comittment. He tracks back and tackles. I berated him last season for failing to make more than 8 or 9 tackles in the whole season. He now puts himself about without falling on his arse in desperation all the time like someone with no pace (Hammond, Perry, Wotton...). The Leeds game showed how good a player he is. Without him we never ever kept posesion in the middle and were forced to hoofing it down the channels. When Oakley wasn't playing the same thing happened. I think you take for granted a top notch first touch and control under pressurein a congested part of the pitch. Take another look. We've got a gem.

he's a ball winner even if that means fouling now and then. For me he had a great game yesterday and if he is availabe till the end of the season its a no brainer. Prefer him to Thomas and Perry. There are better players out there but are they available?
-
agree with pretty much all of that except for the Holmes stuff as I can't stand him. I thought Antonio had a decent game, he was a handful and has bounced back well from the nightmare game he had against Tranmere. I'm a massive fan of Morgan but it wasn't his best game. Hammond hussled very well today and I can see what he brings to the table even though I hope we can sign another CM in the window.
-
Leeds will take every last ticket offered and more besides for that one. I'd of thought demand for home tickets will be high as well. Good times.
-
outsung by Exeter. We've become complacent we're so decent at home against the lower to middling League 1 sides.
-
nice one. Is it just me or is it almost impossible to find away ticket information on the Saints website other than the original news item when they were first released - I can't find that for Colchester game actually?
-
never rated him, slow, not all that great in the air and ball watches. That said, he is a very decent sub, if far too expensive for this league. Overall a very poor signing. David McKracken to come in please.

winning at Anfield that took us to 4th in the league is pretty hard to beat. But, and this might sound strange, the Derby play off second leg was an unbelievable game and one that will stick in my mind forever and actually with some fondness. The buzz when Viafara scored a minute after they had gone two ahead in the tie and then the same when he brought us level was the best feeling I've ever experienced at a match and the Rasiak last grasp equaliser had me jumping about 4feet off the ground. An amazing feeling. A tremendous buzz. Gutted we lost of course, and the rain soaked walk back to the car summed up how all Saints fan felt in the end, but what a game, what an experience. The play offs are something else. Worst, the 4-1 thumping and the "amarilo song nightmare" at **** park. Anyone that was there will hold that pain deep in their bones till the day they die, or the day we do the same to them. Lets hope that day comes.

he's had a few quiet games recently (but still scored goals). I wonder if the service to him has got a little too long?
-
you forgot to include the word `bottling'.
-
you're telling me that Prutton and Idiakez are worse than Wotton? Poppy****. As for Fuller being worse than Pericard - total and utter madness.
-
I'm with Pardew on this - in that he continues to overlook him. Holmes is lightweight, slow and has no trick. Exactly the facits you look for in a winger.
