  1. I didn't realise that the only two available managers on earth were Frank Lampard and Ruben Selles.
  2. Do that one about how everyone else on here was saying that Jones was brilliant and you were the only person saying he wasn't, the only person saying it. The lone voice, the only guy who could truly see, the only only one. It's so good that one, do tell us all again please 🙏 🙏 🙏
  3. Still, I hope we give our manager's job to Jose Fonte because he was a great player for us, the fans love him and he is definitely a winner or something.
  4. Fonte not hugely rated by Claude Puel though, and it is my understanding that he was very much a World Class Manager.
  5. We're only being relegated to the Football League Championship, we're not being relegated to 1983.
  6. The only thing we have in our favour is this a pressure tie for Forest, whereas it isn't really for us anymore. If you are fighting to stay up this is a three point banker, every Forest fan knows it. 3 points on a silver platter. Right there lads. Just take them. If the roles were reversed there would be plenty on here convinced we would choke a home game against the worst team in the league. "Typical us" etc etc etc. That's all I got.
  7. I know I need to stop replying to these things but jesus christ. 32 points is obviously not going to be enough to stay up. Why are you wasting time putting up charts? If we were in the position of Leicester Leeds and Forest right now there is no way you'd be predicting we'd only get 2 points or less from the 4 remaining games. And we need all 3 of them to do that to keep us up on 32. It's just a ridiculous over reliance on other clubs to lose themselves to our safety. No club deserves to stay up on 32 and rest assured we won't. Don't call yourself an optimistic supporter when the only "optimism" you show is that clubs you don't support will all collectively fail just for our benefit.
  8. So what? Three teams go down, not one.
  9. A scenario that involves us winning all four of our final games is not a "glimmer of hope".
  10. The club cannot do it, and no manager we would want would take it, until we were mathmatically down. Let's say we are bringing in Patrick Viera. If he came in tomorrow and then did a load of press ahead of the Forest game he has no choice but to talk about trying to stay up and how it was still possible and keep focused etc etc. Equally the club leadership have to say similar stuff. Neither the new manager or the club can say what you or I (or the club and Patrick) know what he is here for. He can't say "I know we're down, I am here to build for the Championship". No one can say it. So because everyone involved has to perpetuate that lie, in that scenario the relegation will be on him - he will still be the guy in the chair at the point of relegation, and he'd be on record saying he would try to keep us up. So it's on his CV. So after relegation is confirmed, maybe, but definitely not before. But really I don't think will happen. Honestly I think we just wait until the Summer.
  11. We could just get guest managers for each remaining match, a bit like on Have I Got News For You. I suggest Victoria Coren Mitchell for the Forest game.
  12. Well, that's not me saying the season is finished, and it's not me saying "off you go lads and treat every game as a friendly now, I don’t care" and it's not me saying that I absolve myself of commenting on all future games this season. I said we were nailed on relegated, which I do stand by and here we are in May and fuck my old boots we're bottom of the league. Nailed on relegated. As I said back then I don't think Jesse Marsch would have changed much, we might be a point or two better off. Not sure what gotcha point you're try to score against me, but you've blown it sweetheart. Thanks for trawling my posts though. All the best x x x
  13. That isn't what I said at all but thanks for trying, always nice to get fan feedback ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
  14. I don't really see the point of just making shit up.
  15. .....oh and aren't I the one with egg all over my face. Sorry for getting it so wrong, everyone.
  16. I still don't understand why Selles has to treat every single game like a pointless international friendly. You don't have to use all the bloody subs and change everything just because you can.
  17. Dellhurst Park all over again.
  18. For god's SAKE when is someone going to get a piece of paper with some instructions on out there?
  19. Thanks for delivering a perfect example of the mindset I was referring to. He "just" got the dates wrong.....then proceed to do the old Nathan Redmond routine which is two seasons after the time I was talking about. It's amazing how much of an inconvenience it is to some people that our best ever two seasons in the Premier League happened at all, that it's "pedantic" to even mention them.
  20. Have you just come out of a coma?
  21. What close season are you even talking about?

    Ruben Selles

OK, I thought you were offering reasons why a manager would take on the Saints job right now, or why we would offer it right now. It feels like you don't have any reasons. Also you did literally say And let’s not forget the phenomenal money they would earn, a small fortune by most of our standards in very short time. ...which kind of made me think that you were saying we should "pay exceptional money for a short term gig". All that generic stuff about how well paid they are is true in January and true in July so is not a reason. So you're now saying that you don't think we should do it and you don't think we will do it. Other than that, great point 👍

Why would we pay a "phenomenal" amount of money to someone to relegate us? We're not going to offer that and no one is going to take it. Maybe, maybe, maybe we recruit someone in the last week of the season who uses the last Sunday as some extension of pre-season but it feels unlikely. The squad on August 1st will be unrecognisable so what would be the point?
  24. Yes, I know exactly what he meant, and it is moronic. There is a section on this forum that had a narrative in their head after the summer of 2014 and when that narrative did not actually happen (because we had our two best ever Premier League seasons) they just decide that it did happen anyway, things did all go to shit and finishing 7th and 6th was some accident or just "luck" that covered up what was really happening. The same people would never describe our promotion to the PL as "we got lucky" and they'd never describe Puel's season where we lost a £75m centre back for a half a season as "we got unlucky". Oh no no no luck had nothing to do with any of those other seasons,no sir, just the ones where we finished 7th and 6th which was all some massive fluke because it suits the agenda some people want to make.
  25. Jesus wept. We finish 7th and 6th and then 8th after your supposed "start of the process". That includes our highest finish and highest ever points in any Premier League season. I doubt we'll ever beat that. Honestly you have to be some kind of prick just to write that off as "we got lucky for a couple of seasons."
