  1. The moment has passed. Everton have got a straightforward home tie, an absolute gift. They will win that at which point the other ties are irrelevant. At least one of Leeds or Leicester will win but it won't matter.
  2. When Les Reed walked into the managers office at Charlton, some short sighted people said he would fail because he wasn't a former top player with big league experience.
  3. Gardening leave or something. He can refuse to work for Swansea but wouldn't be able to start for us. Equally Swansea couldn't then replace him either. Anyway, none of that is going to happen. He;s got a defined release clause, it's not even the end of the season. Martin is not going to be the manager on Sunday so it doesn't matter that much right now.
  4. This is just drivel and I have absolutely no idea what you are on about. Quite aware of Swansea's poor defensive record but this is not the topic here. The topic is you making out that there are 92 players in the Championship, about 3 or 4 players per club, better at scoring goals than the fourth top scorer in the whole division. Again this has nothing to do with you going on about the fourth top scorer in the the division being the 93rd most clinical players. According to you there are 92 players more clinical than a man who scored 19 goals this season, even though only 3 more players actually scored more actual goals than he did. Why didn't these 92 killer clinical strikers score more goals then? Nice try at changing the subject though. Nope, haven't said that or anything like it. Again, nice try at changing the subject. Lay off the stats and try applying a bit of real world logic and perspective next time. Keep trying.
  5. Interesting you added this at the end, I think maybe you shouldn't have bothered. Burnley won the league powered by lots of things including loads of parachute money. But they didn't have one striker scoring more goals than Piroe. How clinical. Swansea scored far more goals (68) in the season than clinical Luton (57). Luton's mega clinical striker scored one entire goal more (20) than useless old non-clinical Piroe (19). Not one of Sunderland or Millwall's "clinical" strikers scored more goals than non-clinical Piroe. Swansea as a team (68) scored far more than clinical Millwall (57), more than clinical Luton (57) and exactly the same amount as clinical Sunderland. Sunderlands 68 goals obviously much more clinical goals so worth much much more than Swansea's 68 goals which were all just flukes or something. Keep going with the stats, you're absolutely smashing it. Funny that 😂😂😂
  6. 13 goals from open play. Yeah, sounds shit.
  7. A player who has scored 41 goals in 88 Championship games and 19 in 43 this season is "93rd" on some goalscoring stat list? What are you on about? Who are these other 92 players that have done better at scoring goals this season? That's like 3 or 4 players per club who are all better at scoring goals than Piroe....you really sure about that? The list I can see has him, err, fourth on the list of the only fucking stat that matters.

Nah he wasn't. Selles only here since last summer, SR buyout was January '22. SR recruited him as they binned off Kelvin and the other divs on the coaching staff.
  9. On footie insider on twitter which is the single most "throw shit at the wall" guesswork site you can get. Leicester will not be recruiting Graham Potter.
  10. Jesus wept. @trousers please give this guy a Muttley medal 🏅
  11. Honestly I think I preferred the Nathan Jones "first week in training" clips
  12. Whatever is announced, Russell Martin will absolutely not be managing the team on Sunday.
  13. Fulham bounced straight back, as did Norwich (I think twice), as did Newcastle but lots take longer. We can very easily be like Stoke or WBA, or indeed like Forest who spent 20+ years down. Next season there will be Leicester and Leeds and us wanting to go straight back. Can almost guarantee that not all of the three will do it.
  14. The objection to Jones was the whole being shit and losing all the games and also him being mental thing. I'm sure this felt like a jolly clever little dig at the fans when you wrote it. What we are looking for is success, for winning a few matches. It's the club, not the fans, prioritising metrics and systems and spreadsheets, as they did with the recruitment of Jones and then Selles.
  15. In the context of you just making up any old shit?
  16. Who are we supposed to play in goal then?
  17. As a youngster I was always coached that you've got to hold and give but do it at the right time.
  18. 20th out of 24 teams for "expected goals against" doesn't sound that great to me?
  19. Has Clinton Morrison broken his silence yet?
  20. When it does happen will you just write off all these reports as just lucky guesses or a massive coincidence?
  21. Cheer yourself up by looking at Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke and West Brom and QPR and Derby and so on.
  22. Didn't Leicester win the league on something like 40% possession
  23. The entirety of next season will be like that time The Simpsons took the piss out of football. Good luck Russell 👍
  24. Or a prime example of being 19/20 years old compared to being 22/23. Being that we are definitely going to be in the Championship next year, he's clearly able to deliver at this level. The Championship is a higher level than Eredivise anyway: Steve McClaren won that league FFS.

100%. If we aregoung to go "clever" / "up and coming" then this guy is clearly better - dragging a dormant Ipswich up from L1 is comparable to what we need (obviously at a higher level). No Championship experience but at least he is a winner already. Or....uneventful mid table bimbling around for multiple seasons at two clubs? Yeah great thanks
