  1. It's all completely made up by scheming clueless evil journalists I reckon. For money. They make it all up for money.
  2. He managed to be quite nice in his statement yesterday. Morrissey and Marr were the genius combination but Rourke's (and Joyce's) contribution was huge, just a brilliant band. .....Rourke was 23 when the Smiths split up. That's what blew my mind yesterday.
  3. I got as far as ".... yes the football was slow and pedestrian at times".
  4. We weren't where Brentford were then, and we're not where Brentford were then, now either.
  5. Now I am absolutely certain that Russell Martin is our new manager.

Course they would, we’ve got loads more money than they will have. A very obvious step up for anyone currently managing Ipswich or Swansea.
  7. Personally I think it would be great if it was us in the Europa Conference final. Would be brilliant, with an additional benefit of watching people on this forum moan like fuck about fixture congestion for every step of the way.
  8. Yep, fair enough. But - he didn't make the play offs in a season where Coventry, Luton and newly promoted Sunderland did, and Middlesbrough who were in the drop zone early in the season. At least two of those won't have bigger budgets than Swansea. If we get him then we'll all give him a chance but feels a bit risky / underwhelming to me.
  9. Reading that fans report (thanks @The Cat )who we really want is that Joel Piroe boy.....but I imagine even as a rich club in the Championship he may be aiming higher than us now.
  10. At least it's the other way round this time, which is creative. Jones took a League 1/Championship bottom six size club into the play offs. This guy is taking a play off contenders size club down to mid table or lower. Genius.
  11. Swansea did finish top 6 for the two seasons before Martin arrived (4th once). So surely they'd be targeting play offs, which this guy has not delivered.
  12. Middlesbrough fans don't want a different manager right now, I reckon.
  13. Fair enough but he's been a central part of the Schalke first team as well. Obviously not going to become our temporary manager this spring.
  14. The sponsor could just be a big Black Box™️
  15. Maya Yoshida the Bundesliga player? Why would he jack that in just to be our temporary manager when we're bottom of the league? We'd have to buy his contract out and he wouldn't be able to play either. Also, why would the club want that, and the fanbase would be bewildered more than excited. Bizarre.
  16. He's obviously not going to be that. Part of a squad at a top 6 club most likely.
  17. Well, we got to 40 points under no risk of relegation so obviously he did get more than a "single performance" out of them. At the end of last season, Burnley shat the bed and went down, Everton and Leeds hardly had stellar ends to the season, Villa were ropey after Gerrards very early new-manager-bounce and stuttered to the end which they carried over into this season. So no idea what point you are trying to make.
  18. We've got more money than them. Sheffield Wednesday are a big club, Derby and Blackburn won the league, Sunderland have a huge stadium etc etc etc but so what, we will have more resources and prestige than them next season. But we need to get back up before the parachute money goes because that will soon wear off.
  19. He wasn’t sacked by Fulham, he walked out for more money at Bournemouth.
  20. Donna Summer was probably the best mainstream female pop artist premadonna. After "Into The Groove" was released all that changed.
  21. You've already said he was "appalling" and now "big flop" but the rest of us can see what he's done and he is clearly neither of those things. All in all a reasonable record. Fine if you don't want Viera but I think you are going to be hugely disappointed if those are your standards. We will be getting either someone who has failed somewhere else before or someone that hasn't achieved anything yet. So brace yourself.
  22. Everton and Leicester are the most likely to suffer significant financial chaos if they go down, so them.
  23. Viera did mastermind a team rebuild at Palace, in the Premier League. Huge amount of player churn that first season after Hodgson left. Took a new team to twelfth with plenty of plaudits. We recruited Koeman as a Premier League club, we're not that anymore, so a silly expectation. Anyway as a second tier club I think Viera is comparable to Koeman in standing/gravitas, especially when you think that Koeman's record before us was actually quite patchy (as it was after he left).
  24. I don't particularly want Scott Parker but he wasn’t sacked by Fulham- he walked out on them to take the Bournemouth job/money.
  25. Whoever we get is highly likely to be average.
