    Coronavirus

As said up the thread I had mine today. Personally as someone who qualifies as a home-working low risk 40-something I would have happily let every teacher nurse etc have it before me, but havivg been to a large scale vaccination centre today I understand why they didn't do the kind of classification and additional admin you're suggesting. All of that fannying around with work IDs and documentation and paperwork would just interfere with the primary objective of vaccinate as many people as possible as quickly as possible. Just get on with it. I saw today that is what is happening. I was in and out. I didn't need to justify my existence or upload documents to be cross checked and inspected. And, not to mention the inevitable tiering that would come in - are Dinner ladies working for Sodexo not as worthy as professional teachers, someone working all day in a Co-Op deprioritised vs a mainly home based school administrator who can flash an NUT card about etc etc. The sharp elbowed middle classes would happily push aside the bus drivers, shop staff and cleaners. It's not perfect, but I get why they've done it like this.

    Coronavirus

Had my jab this morning. Derby Arena incredibly efficient. Absolutely gobsmacked yesterday to get the invite, was expecting late April or so. If they are already getting to the likes of me in March then they really are smashing it. I would think this will do Boris's local election prospects no harm at all. Basically a huge majority of the active electorate (turnout) will have a jab in their arm already.
  3. Because we're going to be Wigan we're going to be Wigan we're going to be Wigan we're going to be Wigan we're
  4. I would imagine the nature of it being a test event in the middle of a pandemic means they will be tracing every single person that goes. Its not going to be some free for all of whoever can get hold of a ticket can get in.
  5. It's like the worst bits of the Pony shirt without any of the good bits. To be fair the only good bit of the Pony shirt was Le Tissier's goals in it.
  6. I didn't hear the interview but I think the FA Cup semi and finals are being talked about as initial test events. Maybe one of the semis not both. Not sure they'd let many people from actual Leicester and Southampton to go though. The Euros i think they hope are closer to more full events, rather than tests - 40k at Wembley, something like that.
  7. Obviously you didn't say "something something something".
  8. I remember you confidently saying that the Cortese plain red shirt was now our traditional shirt because something something Leeds United something something. How did that work out for you?
  9. The post you replied to originally references us being 0-3 down, which was half an hour into the match, so I was being generous. But 85th minute then: So that's when teams should just completely give up? OK, fair enough. Strange that more teams don't lose nine nil if you think they should all just give up if they're behind at at 85 minutes? It should really be much more common if everyone followed your sheep/lamb concept.
  10. Utterly absurd statement. If all teams went into matches thinking "might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb" then there would be countless nine-nils up and down the country where teams that are three down with twenty minutes to go just stop trying and let the opposition do what they want. Yeah fuck it. Three nil, four nil, just let it go to nine we've lost anyway, "might as well get hung for a sheep as a lamb" as the manager said at half time. Stop trying lads, screw it.
  11. I'm glad you're enjoying what must be the very first time you've ever experienced an England major tournament qualifying campaign. Welcome aboard.
  12. Er, no.
  13. You'll have to remind of the role Portsmouth Football Club have played in their development as world class footballers.
  14. James Ward-Prowse is coming on and that means goals goals goals.
  15. Well, with that and their incredibly stable football club with better long term prospects than us you have to say it is a perfect time to be from Portsmouth.
  16. He'll bring on the English Ronaldo in a minute to sort it out.
  17. You're watching a different Andrew Marr show to the rest of us then.
  18. MLG is not not not not actually not not a twat. Which I'm not saying he is good at not not being a twat but neither am I not not saying he is bad at not being not a twat.
  19. BT have put it there to avoid whatever Super Sunday games Sky have got that day. So it maximises their potential viewers of hardcore football fans that will watch every match. Ignore MLG's drivel it is not some wonderful time slot for football. If it was Sky would be showing football at that time every single week and what a surprise they don't. And funnily enough, the BBC didn't chose to put their semi on at that time either. If it was a normal, fan attended match it would no way be on at that time, but as it is closed doors then BT have done what us best for BT. None of us are going to Wembley so it's not a massive deal for me, but still annoying.
  20. Sounds mental to me and would change the entire point of the sport. Offside is the rule that makes football, football. Its fundamental. I don't get why some people think it is an add-on or a technicality. It is the game. If you take it away you change the entire dynamic of the game because you no longer have to pass through or beat the other team, just can try and completely bypass them by positioning your striker in their box from the kick off, and bomb the ball in. Have your wingers not needing to beat the offside trap to gain space down the channels but to be down near the corner flags from the off. Obviously the defense would respond to this and all of a sudden the teams would have to devise "plays" more like American Football to get the ball to those advanced players. The valued assets would be long cross field passing and then pure pace not to beat offside traps as such but just to run into space at the right time. And goal hanging, like during World Cup Singles at school. Would probably suit James Ward-Prowse nicely. And Jonathan Forte. Would be a completely different sport within five years. Who knows might be interesting. Actually let's do it.
  21. PROWSEY SCORES FOR ENGLAND
  22. Just put it on and only half watching, then think Jesus Christ San Marino are going to score early again....!!!!! Then realise that England, at home, are in blue. Jesus wept.
  23. If that really was your point then you've gone about it in the most ham fisted way possible. No one, apart from you, wants us to win the cup and in return become a club with Portsmouth's prospects. We agree on the lets win the cup thing so let's leave it there.
  24. If you'd just said you think Eisner is a more impressive individual than Gao then I'd agree immediately. For a while I've had an interest in the history of Disney and there is no doubt what he achieved there is incredibly impressive and no doubt is better than anything our guy has done in China. I'm bewildered he's at Pompey and in four years he has achieved absolutely nothing. So I think you are getting massively carried away. Gao is a Chinese Lowe and maybe that will see us relegated. But as it stands we'd go down in reasonable shape to come back up again. After all, it wasn't relegation in itself that screwed us into administration, it was the Burley gamble which didn't pay off. He blew the money and that was that. What is incredibly tiresome is people who cannot accept we might just go down to the Championship and just decide that one relegation immediately equals League One, administration and oblivion, despite that happening hardly ever. Why can't we just have a normal relegation like pretty much every other club ever? Just calm down, son.
  25. Except that isn't what you said, is it. What you said was Haha. But even using them as the extremest and rarest example, they still have a club and long term are probably in a better situation than we are. Which is absolute horseshit on every metric. It's okay to admit it.
