  1. Quite. It wasn't to be and everyone moved on, and as you say we signed some decent defenders immediately after. Even if he goes on to get 75 England caps and three Ballon D'Or trophies I fail to see how that could be seen as proving Saints fans "wrong" or some retribution against imaginary fans "writing him off" while he was here. We didn't want him to go, but he did. Good luck to him.
  2. What is he going to do then?
  3. Jesus wept.
  4. Who was "writing off" Calum Chambers when he was playing all of those 22 appearances for SFC? He was only ever thought of as a great prospect and great competition for Clyne and his sale was the last straw for many at the time. God knows what sh it point you think you are making. At least him being 24 means you have probably an entire decade of making that sh it point over and over again, so knock yourself out.
  5. Don't we have to play all the same teams again in the second half of the season?
  6. He won't be here in two years.
  7. Get behind the lads FFS.
  8. Just baffling, especially with Bertrand on the bench (and Cedric, er, on the pitch). No one is expecting this kid to be a world beater from the off but it feels hes being set up to fail right now.
  9. Lost it in the first half. Boufal looked good again, and Cedric. Che Adams is never ever going to score.
  10. My point is he seems to be a full back not a centre back. I'm not commenting on his ability, I am commenting on a transfer window that required us to sign a centre back and we haven't.
  11. Too many missed chances. 1-3 still feels as likely as 2-2 to me.
  12. So, that centre back we were all high-fiving ourselves about signing on deadline day.....he doesn't seem to be a centre back after all. That last transfer window just dropped down a couple of notches.
  13. Feels that way - if the ref had given it I am not sure VAR would have overturned.
  14. Nice to see him come out to bat for Nicola Sturgeon and the break up of the union just to, er, make a point on the internet. Keeping the union jack must be only a concern for pinko leftie wets and dopey chicks.
  15. Feels to me the story was originally planned out to be a front page tearful exclusive interview with Stokes about how the tragedy drives him on etc etc. It wouldn't surprise me if that the half-sister was told that Ben was on board when they got quotes from her. When he refuses to play ball on that, the Sun just run it anyway because they are scum. Dreadful editorial decision and utterly cretinous story.
  16. Bam. Looking forward to this season's version of Mathematics For Idiots.
  17. Not sure I agree with that. Yes we were unlucky with Adams not taking his early chances but we got opened up multiple times and SU really should have scored which would have been a different game. It's fascinating quite how much the VAR decision changed the momentum of the game. Ignited the away end anyway. Lastly, best performance by Boufal for a long time - best player on the pitch. Very satisfying victory, and an improvement but not sure that we are a much better team than SU - they are our level and on another day they would beat us.
  18. If Soggy dished out a few right handers to his missus, who are we to judge? It's an interesting development in the backstory of this forum's most excruciatingly sanctimonious prig.
  19. Arise Sir Ched.
  20. Surely a fine example of not discriminating people based on their appearance - a living example of equality of opportunity. Well done Lord D.
  21. I think England only need to score two more to surpass the total home goals scored at SMS during the reign of Pellegrino.
  22. Indeed. Best news of the evening was confirmation that the Lib Dems will campaign on a pure revoke ticket. I hope they use "Make It Stop" as their campaign slogan and go all out to tell people that this is the only way to put an actual end to this. Its not a message for everyone but there are 16m people that might be quite receptive and at least it's clear and unambiguous.
  23. Bellemoor boy all the way I believe. My own Alma Mater.
  24. No deal was described by the Prime Minister as a "million to one chance" so I really think it makes much difference. Boris just needs to go and land that fabulous deal that he and Gove were promoting back in 2016. Off you go son.
