Even Cortese when he was here spoke about doing things "our way" and not just chucking money about, so the idea that Markus and Cortese would have been on some Man City style free spending bonanza is completely baseless. I think people need to get a fuc king grip. We finished 8th, 7th, 6th, 8th - the idea that that was going to go on and on forever and ever with us finishing ever higher and higher and never ever dropping back to our perfectly normal level is laughable. Southampton Football Club might finish mid table. What a disgrace. Jesus fu cking wept. Its Les that has taken the expectations up so high with two outstanding seasons when we finished seventh and then sixth. As far as this forum goes, those seasons are the biggest mistake he ever made.

Which football club has a non-risky transfer strategy?
-
Except we went from strength to strength after this, finishing higher and higher in the table and getting to a major cup final and qualifying for Europe, something that maybe Nicola will achieve at his next football club. The root of our issues now stem from Summer 2016 and we haven't recovered from the likes of Redmond and Boufal not becoming the hidden gems we needed them to be. If either of them had become a Mane-style breakthrough then we'd have been in business again. Neither look anywhere near that now. We can see now how Puel actually over delivered, and we can certainly see that MP is way, way, way below the standard and doing worse than Claude with no of the obstacles and a better squad on paper. Summer 2017, despite being the only one where we didn't sell anyone, has turned out to be a catastrophe of how not to sack a manager and how not to appoint a replacement. It's looking like this summer will be the worst of all. Funny old world.

Also this. Fu ck them and their world domination and the dopey fu cks on here drooling over them in the summer.
-
Also, far more difficult set of fixtures.
-
We're just not bad enough in the table or in form to allow the club to truly justify sacking him. Even though we are terrible, it is clear he is out of his depth, and we all know that the next bunch of fixtures is going to see us plunge even further, I just don't think the club are brave enough to sack him now. The club will worry too much about the Talksport/SSN handwringing about "what do that club really expect to achieve, he's got them mid table etc etc etc". Hot on the heels of the equally (adjudged to be) harsh sacking of Puel, I can't see Les doing it so soon after. Genuinely think he'd need to lose, say, five in a row to get sacked in the middle of the season. Les will be desperate to get to May with league status intact and then start again. But, that said, It may all depend on the new owners, that's the only new variable. They might yet weild the knife. Gianfranco Zola here we come.

Seriously? The last manager got us to eighth and to a cup final with this "current crop". Since then we've added Lemina and Hoedt and last season's top scorer and a £50m CB back to fitness. I reckon Mourinho, as one of the greatest managers alive, could get this current crop playing perfectly well. As could lots of other managers who aren't multiple League and Champions League winners.

Nicely unbuttoned to the waist.

If they fell out about anything it was that Koeman did not want to sign a new deal and wanted to get to the following summer as a free man. We were never going to let that happen and quite rightly. He sacked his agent to force his move to Everton so I don't think it's fair to say he went there heartbroken and under protest after being torn away from his beloved Saints.

No one has mentioned, advocated or suggested us appointing Redknapp. And we are obviously not going to in a million years. Calm the fu ck down. Allardyce is not really comparable, and at least would be a competent manager to keep us in the division. Pretty much zero chance of us appointing him either, too. Not our Les's style.
-
Oh yeah. I always think of him as the Summer 2016 pie-in-the-sky candidate.
-
Brendan Rodgers but it's too soon. Think it highly likely we could get him out of Celtic in the summer but not right now. Unfortunately I don't think we can wait that long because Pellegrino is fu cking sh it.

Get the manager out. Something has got to change. Again.

We're going into the Guinness book of records.

Check your password on Kodi - needs to be the password attached to the package you've bought, not the password you've set up with your account. Fixed it for me anyway.
-
It's okay, I've worked it out. Took me about ten minutes to work out I needed the password for my package not my account password to get in but I'm in now and eff me it looks good. I give it six months.

I've set up an account on Flawless, the 48 hour trial one. All fine so far. I assume it's me being thick but where is everything? Like, football?

Club are clearly struggling with what is clearly the "Cortese generation" of youth product. A real shame. I'm looking forward to the fruits of the current regime bursting through in a few years time.

And not even accurate - Blunkett is the absolute boy.

I can't say I remember a "consistent methodology" across Adkins, Koeman and Pochettino but maybe that's just me.

31 appearances in 2016-17 looks like a decent crack of the whip for any player.

Agree with this. The videos are fine, perfectly pleasant and I like Brian Gittens (the short Youtube film of him and his robot Charles is very good) but how the fu ck this stuff has anything to do with our core purpose I won't ever work out. There is far too much pointless marketing wa nk in the world and to be honest this is just adding to the slagheap.
