Leicester climbed to the top of the moon.

And Godman Sachs will have no business and make no money and have no influence at all in a post Brexit Britain. In fact, the minute a Leave vote is announced, Goldman Sachs and every person that works for them will run away into the sunset like Skeletor in a He-Man cartoon, never to be seen again.

Do you think Matt Targett is going to raise a grievance against his manager or Southampton Football Club?
-
This is all working out exactly as we planned it. Okay then Les. Okay then.
-
Okay, what exactly happened then? Let's imagine you're at the formal hearing.

Changed agents because he saw an opportunity to make a mint at a new club and therefore leave Saints. Not because of this odd convolution that he didn't really want to leave. This is all eerily similar to the ITK solid gold from two summers ago when we were supposed to believe that Adam Lallana was sent running heartbroken into the arms of Liverpool because Les Reed didn't return his phone call. The stuff about Ron being so awfully terrible to the players is probably true but you'll get a story like that at every club in the land and it is utterly irrelevant. He tore some players off a strip and we went on a spectacular run in and finished sixth. As far as I'm concerned Ron or any future manager can do that again and again. Matt Targett is a 20 year old adult and supposed to be an elite footballer. He needs to be able to take a bo llocking as part of the job. Anyway, read as the whole, this entire ITK dispatch reads as "he never wanted to leave me, and anyway I don't want him any more, I've moved on" is the kind of face-saving cover story used on the fire escapes of night clubs by blubbing girls in heels every Saturday night up and down the country. Great gossip though.

I've heard he won't sign unless we appoint a manager who is nice to all the players all the time.
-
"The truth" as in "this is what various people/one person inside the club is feeding out as the club's version of events". Or, half the truth.
-
It's clearly only half the story, with plenty of face saving and reputation management thrown in. Koeman will not be going on a year's gardening leave, that's for sure. Back from holiday and waving an Everton scarf about sometime before the end of the week. And let's hope all the Everton players absolutely love him. Because all these players hating him here seemed to be the fuel that drove us to sixth.
-
We will if it's the only option. We will not let him run his contract down.
-
I'd suggest on previous form on other topics, that particular contributor is something of a self-aggrandising conspiro-loon so some salt required. As you say it's all a bit too neat and tidy.
-
Except "is closing in" is equivocal - it doesn't mean he's definitely signing for them. Not gospel.
-
Interesting. Certainly a possible explanation for Ron's extended holiday and seeming to not be that desperate to charge up the M6 to join that gigantic club of the north with their global historic reputation of being the first club in the world to have hot and cold running water. However, I do think a there can be a bit too much made of players hating the manager. It's not necessarily a bad thing, as is the opposite. Everyone seems to love Stuart Gray and Steve McClaren.

Laughable. 1970s good old British food the finest finest finest in the world not like that foreign muck like Heinz Ravioli.

We're not going to "dominate world trade" - we're an importer nor an exporter, which is why we get the "they need us more than we need them" stuff from the Brexiteers as if our entire nation is a simply demanding rich old woman in a hat shop: "well, I'll just jolly well take my money elsewhere". Read a bit about the impact on the food industry which gives a better insight into what is more likely to happen - our supermarkets packed with cheap crap chicken and beef from Thailand and the USA as our post Brexit government chuck out howwible old red tape and regulations and food standards. Can't wait to see our evolution into Car Boot Britain.

Read the thread.

So that's a whole month each for Pards and Steve Bruce. So we might put Koeman on leave until the first week of July. Go us.
-
Sorry it's such a shock.
-
No. He signed for Manchester United. Surprised you missed it. It was in the newspapers before it happened.
-
Except it very rarely happens with football managers. It does happen in the case of some kind of investigation (Dave Jones) and there's a similar thing when managers get sacked they will continue to be paid compensation but that stops if they get another job which is why you often see managers taking a break after a sacking. But gardening leave as you get with chief execs is not a thing in football. The other factor to consider is if we appoint another manager while RK is on gardening leave that could be interpreted as constructive dismissal/breach of contract as there is no good, objective reason for RK to be on gardening leave (ie he isn't ill/depressed/under investigation for historic abuse). Really can't see it.

How can an article containing lots of equivocal phrases like "we understand that" and "it is believed that" be presented "as gospel"? How does that actually work?
-
We weren't awesome in our first match against the Swiss - we were pretty poor actually. And saying we were "utter ****e" tonight is ridiculous.
-
Wilshire - 24 and has played for one club - is a journeyman? Okay then. He was fine when he came on. We should have finished far better and Kane was poor.
-
A fan of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea wouldn't need to come on a Southampton Football Club forum to list out all the reasons why his club is so big. That's a fact.

Proper kicking off in the stadium with Russian fans charging the English, according to Radio Five. Shame there's adverts on ITV.
