The system that took us to eighth and into Europe? That system? Sorry, your scenario is just driven by "Lowe is the bogeyman" prejudice. Nothing in his behaviours or results suggest the doom scenario you've painted there. If he had stayed at worst he would have run us, as ever, within our means. It may have meant a trip to L1 like Norwich, Forest, Leicester, Leeds but equally could have meant a return to the Premier League like the likes of Watford, Blackpool, Burnley managed with smaller budgets than Whiskey George had. With a decent hit rate of perfectly competent managerial appointments - Strachan, Hoddle, Jones and (at the time a proven Championship pedigree) Burley, I would suggest that the balance of probability, we would have stabilised into mid table financially stable Championship mediocrity like, say, Derby County with a bit of play off/relegation flirting thrown in. Not quite the dreamland of today but more likely than your silly scenario.

"Give everyone five year contracts" is this years "why don't we do our transfer business early". Simple solutions for a simple world.

So a Hispanic Jim Magilton then.

Thanks for providing the dictionary definition of "barely literate ham-fisted troll drivel" in one handy post.

It's about 3,000 away fans. Cup games are more but then ST don't count then.
-
I am also hearing it will be announced at quarter past eight tonight. Well excited.

Winner. Shlong it is.

Love it. 0.75 $hanes is a great price.

Yours is a rubbish argument, yes. Mine, on the other hand, isn't. Happy to help.

He was a bit sluggish towards the end of the season.
-
We are definitely definitely going to sign him today.

I must have missed the bit where Georges Prost wandered into Staplewood off the street and decided to work for Southampton Football Club of his own volition.

Rational debate; Rational debate: Rational debate: Rational debate: Rational debate: Rational debate: Rational debate: Rational debate: I think you may have missed the multiple times where I have said I have no interest in having a rational debate with you. You keep saying you want to have one with everyone but your behaviour suggests otherwise. And despite replying to me every single day, you still haven't noticed I am not arguing with you about anything. So you do indeed say things "people can't argue with" but that's because you mainly write barely literate ham-fisted troll drivel. So if it's okay with you I will continue to not argue with you, and continue simply enjoying your breathtaking ability to debate rationally. Make no mistake, you is the winner at that.

You've never watched Back To The Future 2, then?

Well, it's not really about patience. The season we've just had is pretty much the template for the next five years. Try and squeak into the top four or six, waiting for one or two of the established clubs having a poor season giving us an in. We will continue to lose players to bigger and richer clubs. There's nothing to be patient about because that's the plan for the next five years. If we achieve it we've done great. In five years time if Man U come in for a player of ours, they'll go. And that's fine. If anyone is in any doubt, listen to the Les interview.

How refreshing to welcome Pluto to the forum. Always nice to have completely brand new contributors on board, especially the ones that clearly aren't just a banned previous member reappearing with a new name. Welcome, welcome brand new person. If you need any of us old timers to show you around this place that you clearly aren't familiar with, let us know.

Stop ruining it. It was about CORTESE and AMBITION.
-
Morgan Schneiderlin is the football equivalent of that watch Rodney found in Del Boy's garage.
-
Obviously he isn't but he has more than likely spoken to the player. When Brendan Rodgers does it it's called tapping up.
-
When it comes to "rational debate", you are without question the winner and everything.
-
What percentage of the fee do Arsenal get?
-
I think you mean "lack of AMBITION".
-
Sounds about right. Amazing even Nigel didn't complete two seasons start to finish.

There's no way Jordie Claisie would join a tin pot club with no ambition like Southampton. I mean, we're run like a seaside B&B.
