We had our best season in a generation and one of our very best of all time. Meanwhile, Liverpool had a bog standard/below average season, which finished in disappointment and serious question marks about the manager. But they still competed in the Champions League, and two cup semi finals. Oh, and still finished above us.

Liverpool "having their day" seems to involve finishing in second place like last year, or sixth place and two domestic semis and being in the Champions League in the season just gone. If we achieved any one of those things it would virtually open top bus time.
