They did indeed. I fact pretty much no one has denied what happened, especially Clarkson himself. Whitey is spectacularly wrong about most things, though, so let him live on his "it's all hearsay" fantasy island.

Aaaand he's pulled out of HIGNFY.

If that Atletico president was a bit more forward thinking back then he would have purchased plain red shirts instead. Maybe stopped off at Bristol or Swindon. Atletico would be huge with them Orientals now if he had done.
-
Agree with that. But if the Tory coalition/majority is as slim as I think it will be I think we'd end up with another poll within a year or so. With likely a new Conservative leader.
-
Well the fundamental point of that post was that Wanyama would be unlikely to leave in the summer, and reasons why I think that is the case. What's your problem?
-
With a slim or no majority and backbenches crammed with malcontents I doubt he'd survive five years, especially with Boris in the house.
-
I look forward to chatting to Miso Wagamama when he signs up.

Slightly disturbing tweet from the Grauniad's bright young columnist. https://twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/586092985743466496 "Michael Fallon’s “stabbed in the back” metaphor is deeply sinister. It is a classic anti-Semitic trope." Blimey.

Oh, our aching sides.

Wanyama is still in that funny no man's land where his potential valuation is not significantly higher than what we paid for him - ie no top four club is going to wade in with a £18-20 mil bid for him, and we won't sell him for, say £13 mil as it isn't enough of a profit for us. So he would have to demand a transfer which he probably won't do. Or run his contract down another year.

This. Both of them have been fundamental to our success this season (and MS for longer of course) but in that slightly boring, unspectacular way. They go unnoticed, especially TA who is efficient in an strangely anonymous way. Highly likely our supreme defensive record will leave when those two go. But the blame for that will fall on those left behind rather than those who have gone.

Surprise is our greatest weapon. I'm thinking the front four wear Mexican wrestling masks to add to the mystery.

Indeed. The UKIP bloke came across like someone who had just wandered in from the pub and just rambled. Pretty representative of the ranting shambles that is "the peoples army". Lord spare us.

This Yuki character is quite nicely drawn in fairness. Think I might create a foreign fan alter ego for myself. Listen everyone. Lets just say I recently met a Bolivian student who enrolled at Southampton Solent to do business studies back in September and who has fallen in love with the Saints. And let's say I recommended he join the forum. And let's say his name is Sherberto Dippia. He may be on the forum in the next twenty minutes. Please make him feel welcome. His English is not how you say perfect thank you please.

I watched a little of the BBC Scotland debate yesterday (two in two days of a debate involving a collection of politicians absolutely no one at all can vote for on polling day) and she did come across pretty well. A lesbian Scot might just be the perfect next leader of the UK Conservatives.
-
This. Fair to say I am not adding anything to the wider debate anymore other than possibly the longest and most pointless long game of my forum life (in itself pretty pointless). Read in sequence It's coming together like a tone poem, like something by Samuel Beckett or a gun-based football forum Beowulf, albeit with more swearing. The time difference gives the whole thing a turn-based feel to it, with the responses coming overnight, ten hours apart. It's like a long distance postal chess game. Except you're playing chess with a pi ss ed up bonobo. Who, after eating most of the white pieces and the chessboard is now smearing the walls with his own sh it. But through the streaks you can just make out the letters L, O and L.

Have the BBC got this wrong about Europa League qualification?
CB Fry replied to niceandfriendly's topic in The Saints
I think that question has been answered pretty bloody definitively several times on this thread. -
For someone claiming to that they are being "told about the clubs ambition twenty times a week" you have a spectacular lack of understanding of what our ambition actually is. Clue: it is NOT about having "the money or attractiveness to break the hegemony of the top four". You're only seeing "false promise" because you are ignoring to what the club have actually said.

Also, she's given her mobile number out on video via her twitter feed. Nice.

Not being a local anymore I hadn't paid attention to the Labour candidate for Southampton Itchen. She seems nice and is one of those slightly quirky Labour/Co-op candidates, whatever the hell they are. I remember Stroud used to have a Lab/Co-Op MP for many years. I imagine they get a discount on funerals or something.

For fu cks Sake, Yuki.

I respect anyone with as much knowledge on Peruvian second division away kits as you have. Especially if they also come from Newport. -

That's because you continue to approach this issue from the starting point of "what happens if you are a runner up in the FA Cup" which has never, ever been the issue at hand. The issue at hand is "what happens when the FA Cup winner qualifies for the Champions League". Look at it that way round and there is no ambiguity and nothing is missed out in any statements. -
Always good for a chuckle.
