  1. This isn't made up lazy journalism from the gutter then? Funny that.
  2. The club wouldn't send details of their negotiations with Aap3 over this summer to the marketing dept of check a trade. Either way, that £1m sounds like a ratecard/list price, so would have been negotiated down regardless.
  3. If you are basing this on some club marketing gumf sent to another business three years ago then you're on shaky ground mate. I think it highly likely that Aap frankly do not have a million quid to spend on shirt sponsorship, so they have probably negotiated it down, esp in light of the clubs apparent failure to find anyone else in the summer. Sounds like it was Aap's fee or no fee in the end.
  4. So you think Manchester United have no interest whatsoever in signing Luke Shaw? You can call it lazy journalism/gutter press if you like but you have no evidence whatsoever to back up your claim that the newspaper completely fabricated this story. Not a shred. In other words: the usual lazy, gutter forum response to any news story that you don't want to read.
  5. Nah. Not this window. Not at that price.
  6. Having seen how indistinct the gold Aaap logo is on the red shirts I am not surprised Lotus and whoever else we approached ran a mile. Please pay £2m a year to be completely invisible on Match of the Day. Irresistible.
  7. Hats off to the Arsenal. If NC can pull off that kind of growth next year he's done well.
  8. You wrote an internal monologue in that post. End of argument. What you BASED it on is neither here nor there, I don't care.
  9. In your post you wrote an internal monologue. Classic M-board denial. Happy to help.
  10. Classic M-boarding. Forum gold. Getting furious about an imagined internal monologue of the England manager based on a five second shot of his face on TV. Brilliant.
  11. This is pretty much spot on.
  12. I think the other way. Fifth in November, finishing 9/10/11. West Brom style season from last year. Or Strachan post FA Cup.
  13. We're still addicted and a long way from being self sufficient but luckily bankrolled by free money from a dead guy. We're jolly lucky is all.
  14. How long are we going to mentally re-spend the Chamberlain fee on this forum? Pretty sure that bankrolled the back to back promotions.
  15. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Well done to everyone involved for making this happen.
  16. Don't get the feeling that Hughes is anything other than safe at Stoke and will guide them into 12/13/14/15th with no bother. Maybe higher. Di Canio will win one game and be gone by November.

    Billy Sharp

Because everyone in Southampton hates Billy Sharp except you.
  18. Looking good. Interesting break from existing transfer policy - less young/hungry and more established-and-ready-to-go. He's going to expect to start.
  19. Not sure why you laughed at getting back into the Prem from L1 in five years, that was always very realistic with the cash we spent. Ditto Europe. Done before on a fraction of the budget. The "half the team from the academy" was always the toughest ask of those three and still not sure we can quite do it consistently - we'd need ten in the squad at least. But a sensational start this season with the boy Chambers alongside JWP who seems to be rapidly improving. Four in the side is superb and a real credit to the club. Infinitely more satisfying than just buying success.
  20. You could have "tried" not to spunk fifty quid on a new shirt at the first opportunity. But you didn't try. You capitulated immediately.
  21. Please say we'll win Lawro. Please, please. Please. Just say we'll win Lawro. Please. Please. Please. Please.
  22. I wasn't nervous about relegation at the start of the second Dave Jones season, the Hoddle season, the second Strachan season, and the season after we finished 7th under Nicholl. And again this season. It's a good feeling this year but not unique. Fascinating that posters older than me are suggesting they went into the season after we finished second in the League worrying about relegation. Bizarre, thought that team was more highly rated than that.
  23. Pretty sure joining the academy at eight years old doesn't count as "service". JWP has got a few years to go before he deserves a testimonial, as he would admit himself.
  24. Slightly perplexed that the other two players aren't wearing plain red kits too. That's all those chinese people what live in Japan and stuff care about isn't it? I mean, look at Cardiff. EA dropped a right boll ock here I think and no mistake.
