Because we were a bargain in league one, worth a punt with a very high chance of turning that small outlay into a sizable return. Now we'd cost a fortune, and we would need hundreds of millions to take us to a Champions league spot, with a very high chance of not achieving that aim. The "headroom" potential of us now is miniscule, 5 years ago it was huge. There is not a queue of multi billionaires prepared to take on a pretty nondescript provincial club to those kind of heights. We are unlikely to find better owners than those we have now.

Listening to the interview I expected the management speak to be received quite badly on here, and it is a unique and specific language (bulls hit is an ingredient, lets be clear). But I work in a UK enclave of a big old US Multinational, and that kind of phrasing and vernacular is pretty rife, not least in English colleagues. Our European Marketing VP is Canadian and he is just like RK. Cutting through the corporate speak I liked what I heard. We will try (but not succeed) to keep the players and I have no doubt we will appoint a suitable manager to at least hold our place in the "standings". And we will invest in the team, even if it is just what we bring in from sales. Let's see it happen, though, RK. An appointment before the WC starts is a absolute must. I'd take this. If a Saints manager is great, will probably last eighteen months to two years. If terrible, a year at best. So, come what may, at least every two years we need a new manager. If Yakin quits in two years time, he will have done a fine job.

I am happy to admit I only know about him through the context of Saints, and his name has been knocked about a bit here. I'm no great Euro - football follower so happy to claim limited knowledge. But look at his long hair, his nice suits and olive skin. Chuck in a bit of European experience and a trophy or two and he's the total effing package. Get him in RK by the weekend or its hunger strike time for this fan.

Can't blame him for leaving. Think he's made a fairly poor choice as not sure he is walking into the best conditions for success at Tottenham. He did an excellent job, lets see if we can quickly replace and move on.
