Nice bit of homophobia from Wes there. Kinda like what a troll would do. And you are threatening to go from about three posts a day down to, well, about three posts a day as a form of protest. Pompous, achieving nothing, and utterly pointless. A quintessential Wes Tender protest. Seriously, well done.

PLEASE SAY NO ONE WILL EVER LEAVE EVER. PLEASE LES. PLEASE.

Well, just enjoy it. This is the season we finished eighth. It is not the beginning of a decade of Top 6/European football glass ceiling shattering wonderment. Forget all that. If players or managers do exceptionally well at Southampton Football Club, they soon end up elsewhere. As it goes, we have the resources to keep more for longer than ever before. But not all, and not forever. The club will do what they can. But we won't keep them all and all the statements in the world are not going to change that. Just enjoy the season. We done great.

He could say "I am definitely not leaving Southampton". And in three weeks time, when Spurs make an approach, he could decide he wants to go to Spurs after all. In actual real life, nothing happens until something happens. At best Poch is Spurs second choice, so obviously there is no offer there for MP right now. "Saying something" really makes no difference. The speculation was dealt with as well as it could be and you are still paranoid. So who has got the problem? Quite frankly if you think Mauricio Pochettino is going to stay at Southampton for years on end you are going to be sorely, sorely disappointed. If he doesn't go this year, he's gone next.
-
Basically you have absolutely no idea what is happening. Reed's rebuttal the other day was one of the most comprehensive I have ever heard from a SFC executive, ever. If you want to dismiss all of it for the sake of your own paranoia then fine. But your suggestion is we should sack our manager the second he happens to be linked with another club in a newspaper. Because that won't make us look tin-pot, now will it?
-
Your suggestion is ridiculous. He is under contract, Spurs will need to request permission. At that point we then see if Poch wants to go and if he does we get on with screwing the North London yobbos for as much as we can. Saints "announcing" that we think our manager wants to leave would make us look pathetic.
-
What should they have done, then?

I can't see the image on Tapatalk, Icke-y. Sorry.

Golly. A jibe from Britain's most gullible man.

Always hot on evidence, is Pap. A stickler for facts and no mistake.

Good for a laugh, that. My favourite bit is the description of all those journalists with "privately educated" used as a perjoritive term and in the first sentence. I mean fancy being privately educated. How jolly terrible. Thank god common as muck Nige is such man of the people. I mean, he drinks beer and everything. And, of course, The Times is owned by Rupert Murdoch who is basically Roy Jenkins reincarnated, such is his passion for all things Brussels.

It's weird isn't it? I don't think I have ever read any negative news stories about any Labour, Conservative or Lib Dem politician in any media outlet in my thirty year living memory. Just UKIP politicians singled out. Clearly some kind of conspiracy.
-
So Man U players won't want to risk World Cup injury so will lay off, but Lambert, Lallana and Shaw will going hell for leather as if their lives depended on winning this utterly pointless game? Right you are then.

Dave Bassett is no Dan Harding's father in law, now is he?

This thread reminds me of how insightful and brilliant this forum was before the trolls all ruined it and stuff.

I've bought a seven bedroom mock tudor mansion in the East Midlands entirely off the profits from selling on those little pens from next to the catalogues in Argos. You can typically get eight or nine out from one store visit. But only if you have the cat - like reflexes of a gentleman thief like what I am.

Whatever. There will be no hostile takeover of Saints by Cortese. Not going to happen.
-
Frankly, no. Cortese is not coming back and he certainly isn't planning to buy us. It's jolly sweet that assorted poor saps on this forum genuinely think that Italian has any affection for Southampton. Maybe he fell in love with West Quay? He was at Saints to merrily spend his dead friend's cash with abandon, and to plump up his own bank account to boot. He walked when he realised they were on to him. He is using his chums in the media to snipe and unsettled his "beloved" Saints because he hates the idea that his carefully crafted media reputation was being damaged, putting his next payday at his next club at risk. He ain't ever coming back.

Our Board of Directors have completely lost the plot

They've been in place for weeks now and still no Mike Osman on the pitch. -
I have been enjoying people threatening to unsubscribe from a football web forum as some grand act of monumental protest. Puts me in mind of the time Emily Davison threw herself in front of that horse, so it does.
-
So you're starting a witch hunt to hound out members of the forum? Gosh. Sounds like the kind of thing a troll would do. Not like you to be a complete hypocrite, Wesbo. Oh, actually, it is. It really is.
-
Cheerio then.
-
Fine. Don't post ever again. The forum's pointless smiley count will take a hammering but I think the rest of us will cope. Anyway, must dash as I am off to support Portsmouth because I am a Portsmouth fan who has been supporting Portsmouth since I started posting on this forum's predecessor when Stuart Gray was in charge. I've played the long game, sure, but you've worked me out. Up the Pompeys and stuff.
-
Thank the Lord that the-good-posters-who-continue-to-post-on-here-and-you-can-see-why are still posting on here. I mean, what would the forum do without the emoticon laden incoherent drivel from Ottery St Mary. Such insight. Such wit. And oh so many smilies. I LOLZ I do. Really I do. So much better than those horrid troll types.

Positive Lallana comments expressed just 4 months ago
CB Fry replied to Saint-Beer's topic in The Saints
Indeed. Plenty of people moan when supposed inferior players get picked for England "just because" they play for a big club. And complain that our world beaters are overlooked. But at the same time people on here have expressed the sentiment that Lallana wouldn't get game time if he went to a big club. How does that work, again? Is he good enough or not?
