  1. Sorry that is total guff. Any manager at any club is going to use the same kind of phrases that Adkins used only yesterday. "I'm not going to speak about players from other clubs" is a phrase you'll hear from club managers on SSN or wherever all season. Its the kind of thing even bloody Arry used to say. And the league is chock full of uncommunicative chairman and owners. PS Cortese gave a lengthy interview to the sun. Plenty of blood, no stone.
  2. People talk about our policy like it makes us different. It doesn't. And it is not true anyway. We've been publicly linked with every player we've signed with the possible exception of Hooiveld. They've all had threads on here and national paper pieces about them. So, frankly, not that private anyway. Basically, as "private" as any other club.
  3. All clubs try and do transfers in private. It's not a Cortese invention.
  4. What, one of the biggest and richest clubs in the world? Yeah, sure all the gossip comes straight out of the chairman's office. And that Abramovic, eh? Always on TV and giving interviews. Wish he'd shut up for a bit.
  5. Like we did about Shaw you mean?
  6. Not sure anyone moans about what you talking about but hey ho. And anyway, the way people drone on on here like Nicola Cortese somehow invented the private transfer deal is far more nauseating. All clubs try and do their transfers in private. All of them. All the time. It's not something the world's most visionary chairman has dreamt up.
  7. It's like getting two new players.
  8. Oh yes. Make no mistake this is all sounding amazing...the fact that I don't know anything about this kid is even better. Far rather we smashed our transfer record on someone like this than, say, Berbatov or Adebayor or someone else that West Ham might buy.
  9. Quite. Not sure Blackburn's links with Ronaldinho did them much good in the long run.
  10. Good answer.
  11. What I want know is who is going to play the Kleber Chala/Imants Bledielis role? We need to sort that signing out pretty quick otherwise it will be football fuc king suicide IMO.
  12. Lets all remain calm. Liverpool, if they are still interested could still nick him - they'd pay more than us I would think. As someone has already said, we need to see him holding that shirt up (or, preferably, a one line official announcement the moment the ink is dry). Good times.
  13. Whizzer and Chips ****ed all over that jock sh it e. And Buster. And, especially, Oink! which was sensational.
  14. Well, this is exciting. Interesting he seems to have agreed terms with us before club accepted the offer..that's how to do it, eh, Olly?
  15. Sounds a hell of a lot like the Lowe way, what you've described there. But you're right...highly unlikely Cortese would employ HR. Unless we were desperate and facing relegation. Like, well, Lowe did. But obviously HR has some, well, history with us now. So employing HR, nope. Sacking NA? It's fairly easy to envisage the circumstances where that would happen.
  16. I'm not sure they missed it out mate - it was just some advertising/PR for Adidas. I doubt it was ever planned for the closing ceremony, especially as the production quality was so low, and the vid got released during that day before the ceremony started. Just a bit of advertising fluff. Nice though.
  17. Bring on the arsecheeks.
  18. Fire the missile. Fire the missile now.
  19. Its partly true. Eric did all the books and records broadly single handed back in the day - the rest of them didn't really want to do them - but they coined it from them just the same. Anyway. Can't stand Muse if I'm honest. Or Mercury. Urgh. Bring on the birds in headresses from Rio FFS.
  20. Harsh Hypo! Nice that Pythons get a nod at one of the ceremonies.
  21. Noel doing Look Back In Anger live from Eton Dorney.
  22. Mel B. Bunton. Geri. Beckham. Mel C. Actually. Maybe not bother with the scouse one.
  23. They did cover that at the opening ceremony TBF. Decent tribute to Bee Gees. And agree with TDD on Jessie J. Would obliterate it.
  24. It's the Brit awards, just minus the awards and James Corden. Although probably spoke too soon. He'll be on singing Karma Police or something.
