Have to say I'm gobsmacked. But great for AL, and great for the club.
-
Yes, you're right. I mean one of those kits is red. While the other one is red. Not even vaguely similar, as you say.
-
Dear oh dear. Perfect response. How on earth is looking like Stoke and Sunderland some terrible horrible thing all of a sudden, but looking like Liverpool, Notts Forest and Swindon is "daring to do something different"? What is this logic? As Our Claus says, why not just worry about looking like Southampton Football Club?
-
Don't you believe it! Lots of Saints fans living in nice areas don't neccessarily want the club at the bottom of their long garden.
-
...which makes it a slightly different case, although still a completely mental thing to do for myriad reasons. It won't happen anyway.
-
If it is under the control of the city council they would be mental to grant planning permission for a new stadium out there. No need, unnessessary transport ball-ache, taking footfall out of the city, and we've already got a ruddy new stadium. The local response would be very anti- and the whole thing completely lacks any logic at all. The city council would hate it. And I very much doubt Cortese is even considering it. If that land has value, it's not as a football stadium.

Charming stuff. You seem to be labouring under the assumption I didn't understand your "he's family" line. Bless you for that. Thanks for the contextual analysis. I got it. It's fu cking lame mate. And you call me thick. Our chairman can take a little bit of stick on twitter. Shame the bellends on here can't. The response on here is freaking hilarious and you are leading the charge.
-
Never you mind. But I'm not on here calling a football chief executive my "family". Lame as fu ck.
-
Okay, so to you he's family. Fine. But then this: So Cortese if he gets upset will leave us and take the money with him. On the back of a bit of needle on twitter. So this "family" thing reads more like the pleadings of a victim of domestic abuse...I luv him I luv him and he luvs me...but don't upset him or he'll break my cheekbone again.... He's a public figure and he's going to get stick. I think he's man enough to take it. I think it's you lot that need to man up and stop squinnying about people defiling your hero.
-
What "special treatment" is MLT "expecting" then?
-
Not in my opinion. Cortese is a public figure and shouldn't be immune from a few barbs, not least when they come with pretty good reason. Matt can say what he likes, when he likes on this matter as far as I'm concerned. It's up to Cortese what he decides to do about it. If he decides to say nothing you lot can all toss yourselves off about how fantastic and dignified he is in his silence.
-
As far as I'm concerned Matt can defame him every single day for the rest of the year. It won't stop Adkins doing his job and won't stop us winning football matches. Who cares? It's the bloke running the club. Why do you people get upset? He's the frigging CEO, not the centre forward.

Been valued at everything between £500k to £50m on this forum.

I bet he had heard of him long, long before you had and I bet he has seen him far, far more times than you have. And I bet he had had more conversations with people in Italy and Uruguay about him than you've had warmed-up dinners. What's your razor sharp judgement based on?
-
People allowed to generalise about journalists though? And the initial question was based on a "he's never played the game" generalisation. But hey, who's counting?
-
No idea - Why does he have to have played professionally? Most footballers are dumb fu cks.
-
I would venture he does. Being that 90% of this forum had never heard of Gaston before Sky linked him with us, sneering at a specialist journalist who knew about him from his first club is rather pathetic.
-
They're all dull - the Coventry one is pretty much the same as the Reading and WHU ones, and they had "interesting seasons". If anything the whole thing says the BBC Match reports are pretty dull reading. And they are, too.
-
Hmmm. I like a word cloud, the can be illuminating, but that's a bit dull. Be good to see one with the Saints club and player names taken out. What you want to get to are the words that might define our season, not just the fairly obvious fact that Nigel Adkins gets a name check in each match report.

He's a South American football expert. He's been observing and commenting about SA football for many years. Rest assured he certainly couldn't give a flying frig about what the dribblers on this forum think.

Great logic. The OP seemed to be inferring that Yoshi is "everything that Fonte isn't" on the back of a performance against the mighty UAE. Jose would, I wager, also look good against the UAE given half a chance. Therefore the entire debate is pointless. Performances against the UAE are meaningless. Performances against Premier League attacks is what matters.
-
You don't need to know anything about Asian football to know the UAE aren't as good as Manchesters United and City. Sheesh.

I lived in Cheltenham for eight years and it was Gloucester, even when the Robins were well established in the league. And then Swindon which is top of the rankings on this survey and sounds about right. Hereford? Never known anyone in Cheltenham that would class HUFC as their main rival. So this Hereford thing must have happened quite recently if true. You sure you live in Cheltenham, Dune? You never used to. Is it part of the new persona?
-
This is serious. How close could Rickie be to an England call-up ???

In fairness, Steve Bull didn't even prove himself at top flight level, let alone anywhere else. Beattie was a proven Premier League striker. -
Quite annoying that Bompey have sneaked in as our third rivals. Would have been great if there was no acknowledgement of them at all.
