Talksport peddling myth that Saggy took Spurs "from the brink of the Championship to the champions league". Errr, no. A couple of dodgy results and near bootom in August/September is NOT "on the brink of the championship". That Spurs team weren't ever going to be relegated.
-
There is no chance of him going to Spurs.
-
He might do. Everton is a far bigger club than Saints. Being a fan of a club in childhood very rarely influences career decisions. If the offer comes, He might want to go, he might not. But him being a Liverpool fan will not be the reason.
-
Err, just realised this might actually make him more likely to be England manager in the next 12 months. If we bomb out over the next week, and then start badly in the qualifying the press campaign will be immense. Pretty unlikely, mainly because our Roy is going to do a pretty good job IMO. But this will put a bit of a pressure on him.

Eh? You seem to be confusing Reading with a city that is anywhere near us.
-
I bet you're wrong.
-
If wheeling out a now pretty bog standard bit of technology already used to flog mobile phones in cities all over the world is contemporary and relevent god help us. At least this is nicely counter intuitive and disruptive. And obviously that set is not the entire ceremony, more to come I'm sure. Won't stop the sneering but fu c k them.
-
They might still do that. But to be honest that kind of thing is not that amazing - Sky did loads of that just for their coverage of the 2010 Election results. It's basically modern day fireworks. A bit of wooooo but not really groundbreaking.
-
Obviously, it aint. There is a reason why the blockbusting transfer fees don't tend to feature goalies.

Autistic as a freaking hatstand.

I distinctly remember Mark Draper was in all the photoshoots when we signed Uwe Rosler. I thought it was a bit strange at the time but about ten days later we'd signed him. There must be loads of examples of potential signings being in photoshoots when other signings are announced. It's pretty commonplace.

So Alpine laughing at others perceived triviality. LOL indeed.... Meanwhile, in the land of the level headed..... Jaw dropping stuff. Truly jaw dropping.

Love the Sprout (not so much that song) but good effort. Noone, of course, will ever sing that. Whatever song we end up with it will be an embarrassing load of shi t.
-
I think we established yesterday the photos were taken at Limewood. Not photoshopped, pretty obviously, BTW.

Well people were underwhelmed by Jos. They're not by Jay. Many are genuinely excited and chuffed with this. I am. Noone was like that for Jos. The best he got was "lets see how he does". Completely different scenario.
-
In all fairness, this is nothing like the signing of Jos. Jos was a last minute signing after a long summer of publicly nearly signing three other centre backs. We will never know for sure but it did feel like a last minute deal as well, out of the blue. And he wasn't playing for his club either. We've been after JR for a long time, we've spent a fortune on him and he is what they call in business a "big bet". And he was in the team of the year. And, I've not seen much in the way of doubters either, because of JR's rep and our determination to get him. All I can see is excitement. So at any level, whichever way you look at it, nothing like the Jos signing.

Premier League Experience - Required or Overrated?
CB Fry replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
He said "over rated" so I think he was suggested something bad had happened the last time we intentionally signed players with lots of Prem experience. Struggling to understand what and when he means. -
Premier League Experience - Required or Overrated?

What happened? And when was this? -
Would be hilarious if it was some elaborate, staged wind up but it's unlikely. Get on board.

I don't think we need Green to contribute many goals if we do sign him. Definitely not as many as Sharp anyway.
-
But this is nonsense. Green was first choice going into the WC. The others bailed out BECAUSE Green was being picked, not the other way round. Either way this tearing apart and sneering at an international keeper is a joke. He is clearly better than Kelvin is, was or ever will be.
-
Well, we don't know what Everton have done or haven't done. Some people on this forum refuse to believe that even we have put a bid in, so on that criteria we'll never know. The transfer deadline is the end of August. If Jay decides to wait, he can wait. He knows he'll get a move if he wants it. You have to remember why we have gone as early as we have. Clear potential interest elsewhere. His power increases the closer we get to September.
-
The "younger keeper to learn off Davis" thing is garbage though. Not an important criteria by any means. If we can sign a better keeper than Kelvin, do it. If Kelvin doesn't play a minute of first team football next season, so be it. We're running a football club not a YTS scheme.
-
Lots of delusion here. If JR says no, I want to join Everton then Everton can sit there all summer with five million quid on the table. If they are the only game in town Burnley have to take it. Burnley are not in the position to "call the shots" in the way some think. That said it feels like we have done a lot of work on the boy, so lets hope we get over the line. But don't kid yourselves people. The player decides not the selling club.
