You can witter on about Lambert, but I'd say Adkins is pretty lucky that the club went out and bought another of the top five goalscorers in L1 last season to help. And has a golden oldie and a young star to support too. Oh, and a box to box goalscoring midfielder from the league above too. And a well regarded striker/forward from a Serie A team too. Doesn't look too "malignant" to me. Making out Adkins has some gigantic rebuilding job to do it just ill-informed hype on your part.

He inherited the best squad in the division who just needed a bit of direction and inspiration. Not easy, but not that hard for a manager from the level above. As managerial inheritences go - from players, to facilities to exec support - I'd say Adkins had a far stronger hand than almost any other managerial appointment at any other club in the country this year. He has far less to "sort out" than most new managers.

Yep. I like Pardew, he did a good job with us under any reasonable measure, but things didn't work out for whatever reason. But him and Newcastle seem like a terrible fit. He'll have a go, and they probably will stay up, but bobbling about in 16th next season will see him hounded out by fans who didn't want him anyway. You are by far the most hysterical poster on this forum, bar none. We have Ricky Lambert who despite not being in form at the moment is easily the best striker at this level over the last two years. And last season we signed Lee Barnard, who if you ignore the Premier League-bound Jermaine Beckford, was and is the second best striker at this level over the last couple of seasons. We also have the incredibly prolific and highly courted Adam Lallana and a great golden oldie in David Connolly. And, all of a sudden a sh it hot youngster in Chamberlain. How many other top class L1 strikers do you seriously expect this club to have? Get in the real world you freak. Funny how back in the day you were chief amongst the bleaters against our infamous former chairmen and his lack of investment in the squad and all that guff. This regime has done nothing but invest in the squad, blowing every other club out of the water and you're still flipping moaning. I think you should stick to your other favourite subject on how real football clubs for real supporters have their stadiums on out of town shopping parks with lots of room for car parking, because that's the only other thing you're even more completely wrong about.

Calm down. Mainly it was a point about Hammill not ever actually being a Saints player, and he was the first player I thought of that the original poster forgot. If I'd remembered Surman first I would have said him. To be honest I haven't tracked McGoldrick since he left and have no idea how well he is doing at Forest and I am certainly no fan of him, being that he was integral to the worst Saints team in my lifetime.

I know it's really exiting for our humble little lower league team to play host to the big shot mega stars from the Premier League. I imagine the whole town will be buzzing with the glamour of the big boys dropping down to our level. The local bakers will be planning their commemorative gingerbread men as we speak.
