If there is an opportunity of overturning the 10 points deduction then it should be pursued. How would we feel at the end of the season, If we finished either ten points off the play offs or automatic promotion and we had not followed every opportunity at this stage to do something about it. Would we not look back to today and wish that more effort had been made. IMO we have a reasonable chance of overturning the deduction if we are given the opportunity to appeal. We have no chance at all if we dont'appeal and just take the deduction. People are investing a lot of money in the club and it is not in a wish to spend more time in this league than we have to.

The fruit and Veg shop used to be just off Shirley High Street at the bottom of Archers Road I believe.

I am Ok with this. He is a fan of the club and arguably there may have been no club but for him. It will feel good to have a board that backs the football and not the politics that went on before
-
I agree. It was his first full season and playing in a formation that few other clubs would have played in a poor team with little or no support. I see Davies is also after another striker to play with him and will no doubt get the best out of him.

Apparently there is a rumour that Rupert Lowe is lining up a take-over for them !
-
I feel for the staff and their families - The culprits who got us is in this mess have by and large got away unscathed and before some wise guy reminds me of the losses incurred by shareholders, investments in football club Plc 's' are somewhat of a gamble especially when run by someone called Rupert !!!

Because we want to be a better club than we currently are and if we sell of all the assets, you will only eventually end up leasing or renting and throwing money down the drain. It is not a good time to sell land - far better to retain it and use it to complement the St Mary's facilities
-
Strongly disagree. We are in league 1 but I hope that our ambitions are greater than that. It is a good training ground and should be retained as it can only benefit the club with its coaching facilities
-
watched the game and thought he did well. Confident, a couple of good punches each half and a particluar good save in the first half. Well done !
-
Exactly - We don't have time for the same mistakes to be repeated from last season. We won't be starting afresh if we retain the same manager. The whole dutch experiment of which he was a part of all season is a proven failure so why on earth would we wan't for it to continue. Are we masochists!!
-
Well Trousers, I wondered that. My guess is that as WH Ireland gave Begbies a 'Buy recommendation' in their January newsletter that they would practice what they preach and therefore appoint them.

Nice One !! -
Money is irrelevant, it's managers that matter

And so would I. He is a proven manager in this league with both Sheffield W and Plymouth. He has achieved promotion from this league and knows it well. He may not yet be a proven manager for higher Divisions but he is for Division 1
-
I know and I understand these sentiments. Perhaps it is because I love the club so much, that I hate to see this one individual who has almost single handed wrecked my enjoyment of watching football for 45 years come back to the club
-
It is one hell of a challenge and he would need support. It is not just a case of being on minus 10 but the fact that he will probably been needing to put together and gel an almost new team as so many of our players will be off.
-
He was a better bet than a punt on two cheap unknown dutchmen

Wotton injury - the referee nearly had blood on his hands
WestSaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
There was a bit of confusion at the end and even their goalie was not sure whether the game was over or not. I did not realise it was full time but I did see Wotton had been injured. Almost simultaneously with the injury the pitch was invaded from the Kingsland and the game was never restarted. -
God - What a headline to wake up to. What a nightmare scenario

Time for all factions to unite for the common good, I think you may be intimating !

I was given a reference number this morning but was told I would have to bring my card
-
I also heard Kelvin on the Radio this morning and got the impression he would like to stay but unfortunately with the state the Club is in at present, there is no structure and no person that he can discuss his options for next season which he misses and yes It is a bad defensive record but lets face it, we don't score too many goals either!! It is a poor team (Kelvin probably excepted) He is a confidence player I am sure of that - let him know how you feel tomorrow. Give him the reception he deserves for player of the season

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
WestSaint replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
Bad to worse then. We may start next season on -10 but Leeds showed in their first season in D1 that it was possible to do well with big support home and away - until their manager left that is -
I may be willing to take some responsibility if I had been in charge of the day to day affairs of the club. I assume it would have been my responsibility to sell the club and do my best to make the match day experience one that the fans would want to repeat. I think the cowards way is to blame everyone else for your own failure to succceed and personally I think for fans to start threads blaming other supporters is pretty poor. As Ken said we are where we are so lets move on and deal with it

The Wife supports Exeter (comes from Crediton!!) It looks next season as though we will be playing each other - Could not have imagined this last season when they were in the BS Prem. The trouble is I think they have a better team than us. Do Tisdale and Perryman come as a package together or is Tisdale managing on his own with Perryman Director of Football
