  1. 6 minutes of stoppage !!!!
  2. I reckon playoffs still on if we continue to play like this
  3. That match John was an all time low for the club - Shows how far we have come that the players showed hoiw much they wanted the win today. That certainly was not the reality for the teams playing at the Brizzy game
  4. A special rule for Portsmouth - Previous owner and manager in court for tax evasion. Current chief executive in court for tax evasion. Entire club being sued for non payment of taxes, Manager in brothel scandal, More owners than home wins this seasons = Bail out from the Premier league What message does this send out to decent owners trying to run a proper business It Stinks !!

And so do I. He has been a big miss and a shame he is so injury prone
  6. Bart can be a hero !!
  7. How did you pick up on this ? - I spend enough time on this forum without ploughing my way through planning permissions as well.

    QE2

I think the ship should be permanently moored in Southampton and should never have been sold. The Council are always looking for ways of promoting the city and are currently considering a smaller ship. QE2 however is an icon and as a very large part of Southampton heritage should stay here on a permanent basis
  9. Murty is an excellent player for us. A leader on and off the field.
  10. Well Done TT. It is great to know we still have a conection with a great former player
  11. Surprised he lasted as long as he did. Interesting to see who the next unfortunate team will be that some unsuspecting board will appoint him over
  12. Quite true - He is not disimilar to an adolescent continuing to push the boundries to see how much he can get away with. Unfortunately the Mods let him get away with it
  13. Back in the sixties and seventies players did not chop and change their clubs as much as now. Managers were also given a much longer time to try and be successful with their team. Times therefore have changed - Managers come and go frequently as instant success is craved and different managers bring with them different coaching teams and buy new players. The merry go round of players, managers and now even owners make it more difficult these days for legend status to be applied to todays players as they are not around for as long as they once were. This is why Le Tiss is a legend - He was a great player that stayed with us throughout Of course nobody is perfect, but if you need your heros to be perfect, I don't know where you will look for that trait these days !!. A previous poster referred to Paine, Ron Davies etc - and I would agree they are legends. They never had the spotlight of the media shone on them like the players of today though

    Bump!

    Yes- Poyets no mug !
  15. Interesting question and thanks for the old git tag benjii Terry Paine on the wing , Peter Osgood up front
  16. It certainly is - but there again, I am writing on an internet forum not sending a letter to a grieving mother whose son has died
  17. They paid money for exclusivity did they not?
  18. My personal opinion on this matter is that when writing a letter of condolence to parents on the death of their son, it is important that not only should a primeminister spell their name correcty but that the letter should be sincere. I am sure that Browns letter was sincere but unfortunately by allowing it to be sent with so many crossings out and errors it was disrespectful
  19. Always Saints since my grandfather took me when I was about nine or ten to the Dell. He was an West Stand season ticket holder (miLton road end) and used to swap seats with his friends so we could sit together and watch the game. Never really supported an other team but took an nterest in other teams if the fancy took me. I remember a shock result donkeys years ago when Morton beat either rangers or celtic and I followed the results when Saints were playing away for a number of years. Used to watch Totton play at Testwood Park in the Hampshire League and travelled to Bournemouth on occasions
  20. Excellent news- will be great to see him back
  21. Voted - still 2% - methinks the vote is rigged!!!
  22. Absolutely but I think there was a quiet undercurrent of affection for him. He did get a lot of stick - but I remember a goal he scored once - It was a header believe it or not and although I cannot remember the game he was over the moon with it and received a great cheer from the Crowd. I liked him - he always gave 100% i felt but as a previous poster said he was bald!! and this contributed to a fair amount of stick he received. A real character though
  23. Corner
  24. Time for one more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. I do - He decorated our house about five years ago!! He used to live near Ashurst
