  1. Mirror writers short of some stories. Zzzz
  2. I have not been keeping on close eye on them, but do we still have about half of the corporate boxes empty for most games?
  3. As I said, my view was based on watching him play v watching Mayuka. I appreciate the stats. Mayuka may prove to be an astute signing but so far he reminds me of Nicky Banger. Lee has not played any premier league games so harsh to write him off
  4. Weirdest post this year suggests you don't read too many other posts, when making your 6500 comments. I didnt forget anyone, but JR and RL are often starting together. Ramirez up front as sole striker would be interesting. Lee was injured at the start of the season and personally at least, I have seen him play more minutes overall than Mayuka, and in terms of potential I rated Lee higher. Its a strange decision with a few months of the season to go. If we don't get any injuries, I agree its not an issue
  5. Who said I had written him off? I just don't think, yet at least, he is the strongest off the bench choice compared to our rivals, thats all.
  6. How many appearances up front this season? Will do a job of course, but don't tell me you relish them starting, ESP Mayuka. Newcastle have Ameobi, Villa have Bent, Reading Le Fondre etc
  7. This is our secret new, out of contract, signing, to replace Lee? Damn, this will delay things
  8. So Mayuka (and Guly, I guess) are the immediate back up strikers now. Wow
  9. Big jolly from the Maidenhead saints it is then
  10. No work needed. Hats off sir
  11. While I take your point about how well we played, does the fact that we were being battered by Chelsea not make the 2 goal comeback even better? As for Villa, we murdered them in the first half, and should have had more. Of course they came back into it but they were at home and desparate
  12. I dont want to be a doom merchant (lord knows, we have enough of those already) but another thing Moyes mentioned which I completely agreed with was that much of our improvement was already evident under NA. So I dont share your shock at what MP has been able to achieve, fantastic though the City win was. It was one win. The 2-2 at Chelsea was almost as impressive given the 2-0 half time deficit, away from home. We defended badly in the Wigan game and we gave away a very poor goal v City, so there is more improvement to come. Dont get me wrong, Saturday was brilliant and I am sure we will keep improving but its not quite the quantum leap you make out just yet
  13. I paid £156 at Villa Park in their Sky Lounge. Was basically a simple bar and lounge area, with outside seats on a high up balcony. Price did not include any food (simple buffet available) and the only drinks that were free were at half time (sank 2 pints even though it was freezing). Very expensive for what it was, which was not much, but this was Villa's cheapest option and Saints were down as Cat C equivalent (fair enough).
  14. No loss, I could do his job in 10 mins. First Team performance this season: Was cr&p, scored lots but lets lots in, entertaining but could not hold onto any leads. Then improved slowly and stopped defending like muppets. Scored a few less. Got a couple of decent results. Too many draws but some were against top 5 teams. Then had a change in manager. Hustled and pressed teams much more. Defended badly a couple of times. Lots of plaudits but not many more points. Then battered Man City. All is well. Actually took 1 minute. Easy.
  15. the club got lucky? Do you mean that no one at the club had anything to do with him being able to step up, and had no idea he might be any good either?
  16. Watch it again then. When they broke upfield, and we held them up for a second or two just inside our area, he was doing a great job of tracking back but was too close to Spider and Clyne in the centre and left a huge gap for Zabeletta to run into. Not saying the goal was his fault, but countering the view that it was down to Yoshida.
  17. Yes but there were a host of errors that led to that goal. Not least the ever dependable Fox who was ball watching and in centre midfield when Zabaletta steamed in the empty area of the pitch where Fox should have been
  18. We did not have Cork available. Horses for courses, NA was no fool
  19. For non match days - ok if you want to. Otherwise muppet idea
  20. Never over how he was treated. Football-wise, well its too early to say. Great great win today but its one win. For the all the impressive moments unde MP before today there have also been some slack and shoddy ones (e.g. defending at Wigan). I hope we can build on today with NA's team
  21. Spot on. Those 3 exceptions have been appalling
  22. FWIW - and yes I fully appreciate it is v early days and he could well be decent - so far he reminds me of Nicky Banger.
  23. Top man. Tip offs to us about any young talent!!
  24. I just surprised that their fans did not make it a treble with "Fans of the month" too. Especially as so many are struggling to get in while awaiting the new mega stadium
  25. Better be the same as I miss a few already. Any more and I will pick and choose, combined with the usual blend of away matches where I prefer the atmosphere to be honest
