It's not the first thing they do. It's just the first thing that gets reported. Equally first are not paying a single unpaid supplier, or landlord, or staff member, or local council rates. Suppliers will have delivered goods costing well intentioned cash, sometimes only the day before. It is all the same and its called insolvency, not fraud. Administration = insolvent = not enough money to pay the debts off. Time and time again this happens with vouchers. If you are worried, don't buy them

Pubs in London showing Saints v Chelsea...

Stamford Bridge is not far from Fulham -
100% yes. Deloitte will have called this. Not legal to pay one group of creditors (voucher holders) over others (suppliers, landlords, staff). The only "however" is if they want to trade for a long time (unlikely) and so agree to honour vouchers post Administration to keep some loyalty. Or a purchaser agrees to voluntarily, after buying some stores, but again it is very unlikely
-
who are "they" that you dont have sympathy for now? Staff will have had no part in this, and they are most likely facing redundancy. I did not have any sympathy for the senior management anyway, they are to blame (along with any one of us who has purchased from amazon, tesco, play....)
-
yes good point, sorry missed the amount. if whoever bought them, spent more than £100 with HMV (buying some CDs or whatever as well) in the same transaction then its covered. You dont actually need to still be owed £100, just have spent that on the credit card and some part of the deal has not been honoured Beyond that, it could be tricky but you may find lots of others in the same boat, i.e. with unclaimed vouchers. It may just be possible to assign your claims against HMV to others who use the same credit card, so that one person is owed over £100. But need to look into that, I am not sure!
-
Yep - unless they were bought on a credit card (not a debit card), in which case the credit card Co is jointly liable

HMV, like many others, have failed for two reasons IMHO. They have been carrying too much debt for too long, restricting their ability to cut costs or to invest in newer areas; they have failed to move fast enough when the market was clearly changing 2 - 3 years ago. In both cases, they should have seen the changes coming much, much earlier. A store closure program, keeping only those which have the most footfall; smaller ranges; cheaper overheads; alll combined with some innovation: like opening late at night, being able to try out games with a discount if you then buy, offering headphones etc that no one else sells and linking up with equipment review websites (not just selling what everyone else stocks, more cheaply. There are LOTS of audio bits out there that are better than Dr Beats, e.g.), having gigs for budding bands, and so on. Just IMO of course, but to me, they reacted far too late and just replicated the music problem by selling games and kit that can still be purchased elsewhere for less

Have a look back at the results for Saturday then and cheer up, based on your criteria -

I am loving the ride this season. For every 6-0 Oldham midweek away in the snow, there was a freezing drab 0-0 at Wycombe. Long may this season's ride continue. -

What else could we have got? There are no bonus points available for playing well -

I am gushing about a vital win. 3 points. A clean sheet. Away from home. Against a close rival. Missing injured players. When we played poorly. That is all -
Credibility alert

I feel the same way about you, a similar new arrival from distant parts

I am glad we have him because he is a clear class above most players we ever sign. He is young, playing in a new country, does not speak much English, and playing with several (at least) team mates who are often not on his wavelength. Yet. He is wasted on the wing. He will keep getting better. Whether his team mates will is another thing. He has to play in the centre. Would have him every day over Carroll, Borini, Rodwell, Chamakh....

Re Boruc time wasting: he was first class in injury time. When the ref blew up to book him, he was already mid-run to take the goal kick. Outcome, ok a yellow card, but the ball had to be retrieved from midfield, was then kicked back wide of the goal. Boruc had to collect from the touchline, then place his kick again and take another run up. Net result, more time wasted. Villa fans around me were furious with the ref, who stopped play just as it was starting. -

Just back / stopped drinking. Negative posters can sod right the way off. I was in with the Villa fans and they were almost suicidal re. how bad their team has become. The defensive organisation makes our back four look like Arsenal's unbeatable season. The powderpuff midfield is just that, almost useless. We could not score if we played another five hours. These are their words, not mine. Yes ok we should have had more goals, but we played ok / poorly and won, away from home. We know there is more to come and we are making progress. Most of our fans are very happy. Villa would love to be able to say that. Happy, happy, days -
Ha ha! Me too, well similar, i am in the Sky Lounge tomorrow. No champers, just beers, oh well!!

That's almost positive by your standards

J-Rod "frustrated" at first team chances.

Worth just adding that his finish against Newcastle was high quality also. Wrongly disallowed for offside, but still a type of goal we don't score via anyone else -
Does anyone know how many tickets we took / or what the away capacity is?

Cash handouts to be given by all public officials every Friday -
And however bad his miss the other night, his record over the past several seasons is quality. We should bid £5m!

Wow. As I will be in hospitality with a Villa mate, I will have the Samaritans number on speed dial for them

Villa mate (regular there) I am going with thinks we will win 3 or 4 nil. Who knows but think we can expect the crowd to be silent, or on their back, provided we start brightly
