I think the club felt he was a better prospect than Targett, shame it didn't work out - we could have done with someone like him pushing Bertrand for his starting place in the last four years or so. I think Hampshire Live has been pushing at least one version of a story (paragraph) that he has already signed a contract extension, possibly as long ago as last year but Saints are open to offers for him. The last bit was what stood out, why would you tie down someone but also say they would be open to a transfer? I guess the answer is when you have a decent option for 3rd or 4th choice CB but that option would prefer to play a little more regularly.
