You take a look at Middlesbough in 92/93 they had 27 points after 21 games and were relegated on 44 points 2nd from bottom in a 22 team premier league season. After 38 games they were still 2nd from bottom on 37 points. So it could happen to West Ham, but it will not and has never happened to a team on 55 points after this many games, in a 20 or 22 team premier league. Also this was only the secon season I looked at, so probably happened to others. So you theory is wrong I am afraid.

Boruc was not that good, he made one save and pushed it straight back into the centre, which a confident striker would have knocked it into the net. Same again for the late save, which I thought he should have gathered. Still need a keeper I think.

Really strange, as 5 live summed us up as ripping Villa apart. This was after 30 minutes, and the half time report they were saying how much we were in control of the game as should have been out of sight. Even after the break they did say the pressure from Villa was hitting up, but we were looking very dangerous on the counter attack. Come on here and all I read was that we were lucky! Hmmm

I can also see Reading and Wigan maybe getting max points today. Reading will win, and Wigan might get a point, but maybe all 3

QPR are going down the same route as us and Reading, tightening up at the back. It is the only way to build a team to stay up! We are doing well, QPR will get tonked still at times, but we are much better than them. QPR late winner is all I can see!

Yet just 4 days earlier we looked good enough, and should have beaten Arsenal. I do not think Chelsea losing to QPR helped our cause against one of the best fa cup teams of the last few years. Would love a cup run, but cannot see it. Another 2003 would do me. I think about that season a lot, and it was fantastic, just a shame we did not beat or even look like beating Arsenal on the day!
