  1. One game, against a less than useless Brighton side. Leicester and Brizzle will have more fight.
  2. 3 wins in the last 10 games (assuming you include them winning today). Is that really that 'rich'?
  3. My experience of them is that thy are a pretty decent bunch of fans (did meet one dickhead after the MadStad game, but we all have a few of those). A Brighton mate who went Tues was similarly impressed - "they spent the whole game supporting their team, not having a go at us" (apparently Cardiff were the worst the other way). I desperately want to win the league. Before that, I desperately want to be promoted. But I will be very happy for Reading, and Brian McDermott (the other most decent, humble manager in the division with NA), if they go up. But in 2nd place hopefully!
  4. The view from Reading. They are all over the place on this one too - though most seem happy to settle for a draw, pushing us both a little closer to promotion. http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=112756&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
  5. Well done you. As you can imagine we're all really hoping you get your little payout.
  6. Don't, you'll only start an argument... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?36882-Titanic-Remembrance-at-Reading-game
  7. Quite a few pubs that do food around there - the 'Slag & Legless' (slug & lettuce) and The Falcon are just out of the Station main entrance and left. If you want a bit more up market head to Northcote Rd (about 10 min walk) - out of main exit, turn left, past those two pubs, then cross the road and walk down St Johns Rd (big Debenhams on corner) past McDonalds, M&S etc. Northcote Rd will be right in front of you. The Northcote, All Bar One, The Bank all do food. Also The Goat (turn left at end of St. Johns Rd onto Battersea Rise). http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=northcote+road+london&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#q=northcote+road+london+pubs&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=u&source=univ&tbm=plcs&ei=-YSCT7-ABcrd8AOFof2TBg&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=more-results&resnum=4&ved=0CDMQtQMwAw&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=1843d8e761f23933&biw=1024&bih=672
  8. Yes, sorry - Cork for Morgan. Would be happy with the team/squad you've proposed. Neither Chaplow or Puncheon have impressed me recently, but the time has arrived for them to come good.
  9. Odd that most seem to be omitting Guly from the squad all together. Doubt that will happen. Other than Deano for Morgan I'd expect the same starting 11 (poss with Chaplow in for Guly on right, and Guly dropping to bench). Guly wasn't great v the Skates, but not as bad as some make out, and certainly no worse than De Ridder who did little other than waste a very good opportunity. That said he hardly got much service as we tended to play up through the middle after bringing him on for some odd reason. Looking forward to a win tomorrow. COYS!
  10. This.
  11. No idea what you are talking about. Most in the pub tonight agreed it was one of the best, most intense atmospheres ever seen at SMS. Perhaps you were in the Chapel Stand?
  12. I'll only sing that song if we're four up with about 3 mins to go... And yes, I am up this early because I cannot stop thinking about the match! COYS!
  13. Could be a good thing. We definitely won't be complacent now! They were always goin to win these games, we have to too. They both have harder matches on Mon/Tues. "Control the controllable".
  14. I really do think there must be something in the water in P*mpey. They always come out with this deluded drivel. It's so comical (especially that they think it actually intimidates!). Most P*mpey fans are happy, clappy, scarf wearers. I do however really hope try to put point 2 into operation. Good luck with that lads ;-)
  15. Sharp. If not Fox, Richardson or Morgan. Funny so few have mentioned Lallana. Not sure I'd trust him to take one under pressure either strangely.
  16. Billy's a Saint, simple as. We support every player who pulls on the red and white. Together as one.
  17. Condolences to you and your family. Lovely touch by you, and the club in helping you fulfil your Dad's wish. RIP.
  18. I have. Others will too. Stop being such a disrespectful little pr1ck.
  19. Well said JBS, and saved me responding to CB. People seem to be making all sorts of daft analogies with other events. For me this would just be a respectful doth of the cap to a major event (perhaps THE major event?) to befall our city. And nobody supporting this CB is 'frothing at the mouth' as far as I can see - just putting forward reasonable, rather measured argument. If anything you are the only one getting a tad over excited, but that might have just been the late night...
  20. Well "the facts" state that 4/5 crew members were from Southampton. You dispute that fact, and I am in no position to defend it or otherwise (not being an expert on the topic), but your challenge is just irrelevant. Also not sure who is moaning? We're just having a debate on whether the club should, or should not, acknowledge the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic, and the associated loss of life, as the Ships home port.
  21. That is what I was thinking.
  22. In which case, I am not even sure why you are making the point? Whether it's 2/5, 3/5 or 4/5 - and whether people were born & bred or mere residents (actual or on paper) - the event had a massive impact on the city, and that is really what we re talking about.
  23. Not really sure anyone has said it's the only option, it is the most obvious one to suggest though I guess.
  24. Think I, and others, have countered your points elsewhere, but again, I don't think subtly and sensitively marking the 100th anniversary of this tragic event that directly impacted hundreds of So'ton families falls into the "mourning sickness' type stuff that has you foaming at the mouth (again!).
  25. I would agree too, and there are other events going on in the city to mark the occasion. It just seems a little perverse to me that we'd pass up the chance to commemorate this event when 30k 'Sotonians' are in one place - even if it's jut applauding a few Titanic victims descendants laying a wreath at pitchside before the game.
