Knob!.......im already well known enough,I don't need anymore promoting.
-
This is true although it doesn't make any difference to me as I knew that I wouldn't be renewing a year ago,but there are fans out there that for one reason or another have got out of the habit of supporting saints in realtime,it is these people who could easily be turned back onto coming to st marys, perhaps include a freebie DVD of some great goals from years gone by with the letter.
-
Not whinging in anyway mate, sorry if it's upset you, just trying to work out why the club are not too bothered if I renew or not. I would love to see the the ground full every game and what better way to do it than contact everybody on the database and try and win them over. I wish I could make every home game but I have just opened another sweet shop in northam road and obviously Saturdays when saints are playing at home is going to be a busy time for me........come in this Saturday draganov I will give you a free bag of sweets :-) At the end of the day we are all saints fans(even the whingers) and we all want the same thing for our club.
-
The thing is,I am thinking about renewing my 2 older sons tickets as they are old enough to go on their own so a letter or email from the club could swing my decision.
-
Also would like to add that 3 of my season tickets were kids so all the more important to keep me sweet.....kids = long term finance for the club, not just tickets but merchandise and refreshments.
-
If the club contacted me to see why I havnt renewed my 4 season tickets and try and tempt me into buying some? I'm not going to by the way as I can't make any Saturday games but even so it would be worth their time going through the database and contacting everybody who hasn't renewed. For the price of a first class stamp,a piece of A4 paper and an envelope they could end up with another customer.... Just a thought.

Not attention seeking at all..... I thought long and hard before making a decision to post at all about it but There still might be a chance that he will get a role at the club,he just hasn't heard anything either way. There were a few things said, nothing groundbreaking and nothing that hasn't been discussed on here a few times, mainly about certain players attitudes and players that were looking to leave this week (2 players) I won't name them because if they don't leave and killer gets a job then it could make life a bit uncomfortable for him. He also spoke about a certain player not being played and the club want him to leave because of his wages. I'm sure you can all work out who these players are but I won't be naming any of them. He thinks that we are very weak at the back but he was very relieved that the club was saved and he hopes that pardew can get us promoted quickly. We had a laugh about claus and his community service and he said that they still play 5 a side together sometimes. I also thanked him for his 50/1 header against spurs a few years ago when me and a few mates made a few grand off of the bookies :-) I did try to get him to sign for our vets team but he is too young, perhaps next year.

The whingers run this forum and don't you forget it ;-)

Sorry no pm's

About time,he must read this forum.

He's off back to Sweden The club havnt offered him anything as yet. It's a shame that there isn't a place for him at the club, even if it's only working with the kids. He did tell me some other stuff but I won't repeat it on here yet just in case they do offer him something.

I cannot understand how letiss got sucked in,surely he should have done some basic checks on these people,he has connections in sport and business......unless of course he got paid to be the front man? In which case that would clouded his judgment.

I am realistic all the time on here but people can't accept reality and they try and rip my arse off :-) Last season in this league you could probably scrape the playoffs on about 70 points,so with our -10 that would be 80 points, that's about 2 points per game....not impossible but very very unlikely....not forgetting there are a lot of big clubs now in l1 all trying to do the same as us with better bigger squads. I would love it if we did but miracles are far and few between these days in football.
-
0-2 unless something changes for the better this week. Although I did have a strange dream that we beat millwall 2-0 and the jam got back together..........both very unlikely,in fact more likely that the jam will reform.:-)
-
'our immediate plan is to get rid of the -10 points, then see how long we have got left.if it's 3 or 4 months we can have a go at the play offs,I'm not aiming any higher than that.' This suggests to me that he is happy for us to play catch up for half a season and then see how it goes from there. This is not what I expected from somebody who wants a top two finish.
-
there's some conflicting stories going on here..... There's a 5 year plan, then there is 2 plans for this season,1 to eradicate the ten points within 4 months?? Then try and push for a playoff place in the next 4 months?? It's not a 5 year plan then,it sounds more like a 'hit and hope' plan to me What happened to a top two finish?
-
Don't worry tim it will all be over by Christmas at this rate.
-
LOL you make I chuckle:-)
-
Don't come on here then if you cannot handle a different opinion to your own! As you rightly point out we do need a few players,I think this is apparent to everybody but waiting until September,October or November will be too late.
-
Just being realistic unlike a lot of the 'everything will be ok' brigade. I have no doubt they do have a plan but before that plan has time to work we could find ourselves cut adrift.

It's just a shame that a lot of people on here are still burying their head in the sand.....unless pardew pulls a fookin miracle out of the bag this week then be prepared for another relegation. We cannot afford to fall behind so early in the season or it will require a miracle just to get out of the bottom 3. Today should be close to a starting lineup as you are going to get for the team against millwall and by the sounds of it,it's not going to be good enough. I really, really do hope that ML and pardew have a plan.
-
If a manager at a successful club states no ambition then he will get slated but we are sh1t at the moment so realism is the way to go.
-
I've never said we would walk this league or any league,I have always been cautious about our chances. Listen,I'm on your side,I want stability,I want a long term plan and I want a long term manager but if that manager (who I am happy with) goes on record and states ridiculous expectations then it deserves to be debated........by saying that he wants instant success kind of defeats the object of a long term plan don't you think? What he should of said was 'this season is going to be one of rebuilding but next season I expect to be in a position to gain promotion' but of course this doesn't sell season tickets. Come the end of the season pardew will regret what he said,he will get ripped apart on here (like most things) I'm not fickle, I'm just realistic,I have supported this club for the best part of 40 years and I have learnt not to expect anything from it even though it expects a lot from me. I am looking forward to this season as much as I have for the last 40 seasons but I do fear that it isn't going to be a rosy as some believe it is going to be.
-
A five year plan is all well and good but pardew has come out and stated (stupidly IMO) that he wants a top 2 finish, this raises the expectancy levels of the fans. OBS,DD and myself therefore are entitled to debate how this minor miracle is supposed to happen unless signings are made,ok pardew may be a miracle worker and will get a better response from last seasons failures but is he really that good that they will instantly overcome a 10 point defecit and then power up the league finishing in an instant promotion place after virtually winning every game?............I don't think so,do you? The facts are that unless signings are made we will start this season with a weaker squad than we did last season,we are in an unknown league starting with a handicap of -10 points......ok, we might be debt free and have a better calibre of manager but is this really going give us instant success?..of course not,so pardew should have kept his mouth shut or he should have been more realistic. I'm happy for there to be a long term plan, I'm just not happy that at the moment we are not good enough to compete in this league. This is all IMO and I really hope I am wrong but it is going to be a bigger struggle this season than it was the last.
