  1. All I am saying is a top 2 finish (automatic promotion) is very very unlikely for us unless we can get some quality in the team..... This could only happen if we pay good money for players transfer fees or get decent players for nothing who command high wages, either way they need to spend good money. Success costs I'm afraid, especially as we are starting on -10 in a league we have no experience in. Going back to your question,if pardew came out and said I want to finish mid table maybe pushing for a play off place then I would say that is realistic.I wouldn't be satisfied but I know that mid table is probably how good it will get for this season........however,if pardew wants a top 2 finish then a minor miracle will have to happen, players will need to be bought because with our current crop of players it is going to be a long hard winter. If pardew has said he wants auto promotion then he better have a plan which involves bringing in 5 or 6 players otherwise come may he is going to look very silly indeed.
  2. Let me get this right.... Pardew wants instant promotion We start on -10 We are according to some the 4th richest club in the uk..(?) Pardew is looking for bosmans and loans Call me old fashioned but unless people at the club pull their fingers out of their arses and spend some money on a few decent players then at best we are going to be just another average L1 club with little ambition. If you want to think big (like pardew is) then you need to spend big......as yet I havnt seen any sign of that,in fact on another thread they are still talking about keeping the corners closed because of the cost!?!
  3. Why are the club worried about money?
  4. Did they ever start?:-) I have no problems with the people who run it,I know most of them well and they are all dedicated saints fans but it's time they stopped trying to flog a dead horse. You do of course have a choice and you don't have to join which is what the majority have chosen to do so it is obvious to those involved that it is not popular. I like my fans to be fans and not try and get above themselves by trying to get a place on the board or trying to buy up shares etc etc. Our job is to support through thick and thin and pay through the nose for the privelage........nothing else.
  5. There is outside my shop in northam road but I can pick up a 3g signal in the stadium ok on my iphone.....just about.
  6. Ah,lower lordshill :-)
  7. Tbh I'm glad he did,I applaud his loyalty but why turn down the best job he would ever hope to achieve......if true. He wasn't the man for us.
  8. If he loved us that much why did he leave? I suspect his love of money outweighs his love of saints.
  9. I'd rather keep stern, saga has been plop since he signed tbh.
  10. If pardew doesn't act in the transfer Market after witnessing that then I will be very surprised.....if he doesn't then it's going to be a long hard winter of dissapointment IMO. I hope he doesn't fill the team with ex charlton players as they will be just as shellshocked as our lot, they also have lost the winning way and are damaged goods.
  11. About the new owners? He seems to be a bit quiet. Anybody know if he has made an official comment or even a private one? I should imagine he is as elated and relieved as the rest of us.
  12. That might be a mistake unless they have somebody better lined up to replace him......IMO he would have been an asset in L1.
  13. To be appreciated rasiak needs to score in every game simply because he does fook all else for 90 mind and this is percieved as lazy, lethargic whatever you want to call it. He doesn't hold the ball up,he rarely brings other players in to play, for a big bloke he's not great in the air and he never tracks back. There are other strikers that can be forgiven their lack of goals because they do all of the above, rasiak on the other hand does know where the net is but that's it. Tbh outside of football he comes across as an arrogant miserable sod so perhaps he is not popular because of his attitude?
  14. Thanks for blowing my cover mate,it's taken me years to lose the posh accent :-) But contrary to popular belief I was dragged up in a council house in Lordswood and I think it is only right that pardew should live amongst the unwashed, not only will he feel the same pain as us when things go wrong but he will also see the passion first hand. There's nothing like a passionate saints fan to keep you focused.......just ask Beattie:-)
  15. Lower chilworth I like to call it:-)
  16. Too many people read too much into the saints Pompey thing,99% of saints and Pompey fans are only mouthy from a distance and can't be arsed or are too scared to take it any further. There are always going to be a minority who go that extra mile and if they turn up looking for a fight then I'm sure they will find exactly what they were looking for. From experience the only people who get hurt or are doing the hurting are the people who are expecting it. 6.57 is the time you go to bed,6.57 is the time you go to bed.:-)
  17. I would like to think that if he is here for the long term then he should move to the area to show that he is commited. Unless of course he already lives nearby.
  18. If it was me in the dressing room I would have shouted 'shut it pussy' in a polish accent and then pointed at rasiak or saga, that should get them off the payroll :-)
  19. The old bill popped into my shop before the game and said it was likely to be 23k.
  20. Ha ha.....all the premiership fans fooked off years ago,but they say they don't come anymore because of lowe or something......nothing to do with not being in the prem. Mind you I see a lot of them made the effort to turn out for the manu cup game last season.......bless em.
  21. Try Reading both my posts again.....I am not unhappy at his appointment as long as he is backed financially but he wouldn't have been my choice. You know as well as I do that regardless of what league we are in money talks, appointing pardew has given us all an indication of the level of finance the Swiss are willing to inject. This could all change when pardew starts to sign players,if they are willing to bring in decent players on decent money then I will see that as a sign they mean business but if they continue down the 'cheap' route then it is going to be another long hard winter. This is all IMO,but it doesn't mean I am not willing to back him it just means my expectations do not match that of our owners.
  22. This appointment is proof that the ambitions of the Swiss are average at best. It wouldn't be my choice but now he is here I hope that the owners back him financially otherwise we will just become an average L1 team.
  23. It's not brilliant but it's better than that slate number we had last season
  24. Stuart pearce has better things to do than try and drag our small club out of the jaws of oblivion tbh.
