  1. Looking like another afternoon of Southampton nil. All hinges on whether Brough can score. Simply awful performance again. Depressing stuff.
  2. Easiest game Palace have had all season. Utterly pathetic from Saints. Hope our home form is going to be strong because away games are a write off the way the team play. Too slow, no bite, no goals.
  3. Southampton nil. The story of this season.
  4. This team has so few goals in it - not just today but even games we have won should have been by more. This is becoming the main issue in every game and it desperately needs addressing in January. We must make more backwards passes than any other team and the final ball is just pathetic. Such a frustrating game and should have been won well ahead of letting them back into the match. Much work still needed.
  5. For me, Clasie has come nowhere near the level everyone hoped when he was signed and seems relatively invisible during games. Because of that I made an extra point of watching him on Sunday and can't say that I remember him making a single forward pass in the game. It is always the safest option, either sideways to a midfield partner or backwards to one of the back four. He never seems to either want or be capable of a forward pass to a runner. In the rare instance he gets forwards his shooting is usually terrible (although that is something much of the squad suffers from). Add to that, he never appears to come out on top in a 50/50 challenge. Agreed that he does hassle the opposition but it is within a limited area of the field and good passing teams (like Chelsea) are not particularly bothered by that as they move the ball quickly enough to nullify the threat. Despite the 'mixed' opinions about JWP, they both do similar things in hassling the opposition with little end product, but I think JWP offers more in that he does have a decent dead ball and has at least scored a few goals. Thank goodness Romeu has picked up the mantle in midfield this season. He was terrific against Chelsea again. Just hope he doesn't get injured.
  6. Not sure how closely you were following those ridiculous speeches at the charity dinner last night but Trump was booed on at least three occasions by the audience for inappropriate comments, which is (apparently) the first time that has ever happened. It is also interesting/amusing that the idiot Trump's father was involved in anti-Catholic demonstrations during his KKK days at the time the dude who this dinner is in memory of was nominated as a presidential candidate (I think in around 1928). How fabulously anti-establishment. Think if the duck wins then I might refuse to accept the result and hope for someone a bit more moderate instead - like David Duke or Adolf Hitler
  7. Very frustrating night. Saints were by far the better team but lack of ability to put the ball in the net is really going to hurt us. Seems strange to say it when we played one of the most famous teams in Europe in their own stadium, but Saints really should have won that game. Inter had one shot on goal and that was all they needed. It was a lesson in finishing.
  8. Total domination so far but a little disappointing not to be in the lead. That final ball is not quite right and the strikers don't look like scoring. Sadly, JRod looks like the kid in the playground that always gets picked last. Hopefully we continue in the same way second half but with more composure in front of goal. Can Inter really be that bad for the whole game?
  9. As football is supposed to be about winning trophies, I want to see us actually win something - so taking the cup competitions seriously is important. No reason why we cannot win one of the cups. I am expecting league form to be inconsistent with a considerably lower finishing position than last season and fewer goals all round.
  10. Who was on the list from the ITK's? Wanyama, Mane, Juanmi, Pelle and Tadic. Three gone, two more to go maybe. That is almost half a ****ing team - again.
  11. It's 2014 all over again - sell a bunch of players whilst there is no manager to say no. Except this time do we have a big name coming in to stop the rot? One thing I have learnt in the last 3 years is not to believe a word that comes out of the club or Reed in particular. In fact the more they say things the more likely it is the opposite will happen. So, now we are selling players with 2 years left on contracts so cannot even use the normal excuse about letting them go for free in a year. It is all getting so tiresome and tedious. We are so we sell.
  12. Looks like we have found our next golden generation of chokers and losers. Needs changing dramatically at half time. Will Roy know what to do? I doubt it. This is like watching West Brom against Stoke.
  13. Fantastic season. Well done to everyone at the club.
  14. Ron certainly does like to change things around. Personally, I think he worries about the opposition too much. Rather he settles on a consistent formula and lets the opposition worry about us. I would prefer we always played to our strengths rather than set the priority of containing the opposition. I imagine players are more comfortable with a consistent strategy
  15. Utter ****. Game over. Will we ever beat this scum?
  16. Utterly atrocious. Can't wait for the season to end. Clearly it already has ended for the players.
  17. I lived in Boscombe for a couple of years for work but was and had been a season ticket holder at Saints for many years, being from Southampton. On the odd occasion I would go to Dean Court on a Saturday afternoon just for something to do if there was no game at the Dell. At that time it was a filthy, dilapidated hovel and there would be barely 4,000 people in the ground. I do remember a few songs about Saints and booing if Saints had won, which I thought was all quite amusing considering the crowd at the Dell would cheer a positive result for Bournemouth. I always looked out for their results and hoped they did well. They are a bit like a cute small brother or sister to take pity on whereas we are the big brother who they are a bit envious of and that does not result in a 'proper' rivalry. I want to beat them on Tuesday because I want Saints to win every game, not because they are Bournemouth. If we lose I will be ****ed off, but on the same level as losing to Norwich rather than losing to the skates.
  18. Sat next to one in a dirty skate shirt on the ferry that goes from the car park to the main gate at Disneyworld in Florida last year. The boat was busy so I couldn't move to a different place. He blended in well with all the little kids in their blue Elsa dresses.
  19. We look a different (much worse) team with Pelle in the team, unfortunately. Seems like all the threat is gone. Thank goodness we are a goal up. Hope for Austin second half.
  20. Dominant performance today. Great to see JWP finally get that freekick in. Thought Shane Long was fantastic - led the line brilliantly and his pace and movement are everything that Pelle is not. Even after taking several heavy knocks during the game he kept on going and really deserved a goal. Davis had a good game supplying others. Don't remember Forster having to make a save. Two interesting tests coming up now away from home.
  21. Strange lineup. Just two attackers for a team desperate for goals. Ron seems to be way too concerned about the opposition rather than picking the best possible side and letting them worry about us. Not sure why we need 'special' tactics against Watford at home. Just go for the win.
  22. I know someone else asked but not sure if there was an answer, but surely the team travels to away games together? Therefore, how can just one player be late? If they are allowed to travel individually to away games it is not surprising team spirit is so low.
  23. Wanyama is an utter moron and should be dropped completely. This team has no goals. Another game of wasted chances followed by likely defeat. Our best player on the bench. Another miserable weekend
  24. Started well but yet, yet again failed to take chances. Game was over as soon as they scored and that is the worst thing about this team at the moment. Did absolutely nothing in the whole second half to even hint that there was a possible comeback. Can't think of too many other teams that just give up as clearly and frequently as this team does. It is looking worryingly similar to the team that got relegated before with Kamikaze defending from all areas. Even then we had Crouch that could score and give us a chance. Can't see where the next goal is coming from at all with these guys. The club policy has been well and truly discredited over the past couple of months. Where is Les with his TV documentaries now? If this is the Southampton Way then it needs to be changed pretty quickly. We desperately need some quality in this team from somewhere. Some tactics might help a bit too. There are only two other teams clearly worse than us at the moment (Villa and Sunderland) and with likely defeats in the Christmas games they need to be planning some quality additions in early January. With the Prem so open this year we could really have made an impact but chose the cheap route and this is the result. The club have managed to dismantle a decent team and team spirit in record time. No man of match today. They were all useless, especially in the second half. Will Clasie and Tadic ever play 90 minutes?
  25. Do you think these guys practice kicking a football during the week? By simple law of averages randomly kicking a ball should yield more on target than our team get in games recently.
