That defending is disgusting. This club is screwed.
-
This club is still a shambles. Still trying to be more clever than everyone else and this is what we deservedly get. It will be a surprise if we concede less than 5 today. Glad they had two weeks to work on the defensive shape and tactics. Our owners really need to just go away so we can get someone that might actually appoint something other than a no-name, no-hoper to teach the basics of football to these wasters.

Sheffield Weds 1-2 Saints - Match Thread
IronCitySaint replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
Total domination but not looking that likely to score more goals. Maybe not surprising as if you take Tella out it is basically the same bunch of non-goalscoring players from last year. They really need to show more in the final third. -
Can't be bothered to check, but this must be one of the worst home records ever in the top flight of English football. I am literally laughing at how amateur and pathetic this performance has been today.
-
You have to wonder what type of lunacy keeps leading to A. Armstrong being brought on when chasing games. He is the epitome of our transfer policy over the past years. Sell a top striker and buy one that cannot score for toffee. Or do much else to compensate.
-
Anyone who has ever watched a game of football would know that putting AMN at left back would be a disaster, except, of course, Selles. Just a question of how many goals Forrest want to score now. We are making them look like a champions league team.
-
Didn't even remember we were playing until the 70th minute. Turned on Solent at 85 minutes and at 88 minutes let the thought slip into my mind that even Saints can't fuck this up from here. Really should have known better. This is the worst result of all - doesn't help either team.
-
One of the worst teams in Premier League history, without a doubt. Would be amazed if we get another point this season and somewhat surprised to see another goal. Anyone on the coaching side who has had any involvement in this mind-numbing crab football needs to go. The genius Ankersen should be the first out the door. Absolute fraud and he should be ashamed of what he has created.
-
Is anyone even remotely surprised by this?
-
Think this should be a walk in the park for Spurs. Probably the easiest game they will have for the rest of the season. Everyone knows it only takes one goal to beat us. Just put 11 bodies out there and it is as good as three points. 0-4.
-
7 minutes stoppage time. Bet we wouldn't score if it were 70 minutes.
-
Looks like the big guns are coming on - Mara and Walcott. Brentford must be worried now.
-
Can't see us scoring one goal, let alone 2+. Want to say that I can't believe the lack of urgency in the performance, but actually I can totally believe it. Been like this for years and nothing looks like changing.

For all those thinking the Championship will be more fun and bring a lot more wins, I present exhibit A. This club is utterly useless and feel we have a long way to fall before reaching the bottom. Good luck to all those going on Saturday.

Leeds are probably the worst team we have played all season, but still comfortably a level above the drivel our club can produce. Saints will finish 20th and adrift of everyone and thoroughly deserve it. Hopeless club at every level. The only thing we are good at is finding loser owners who are clueless at running a football club. But owners that think they are so much more clever than everyone else. We would not have scored a goal today if they had played five matches. Tactics, selections and subs just like Jones was still here. I can't see that anything has changed. This team is going to struggle tremendously in the Championship next season. This season is over.
-
Not impresses with this lineup. Think Chelsea's scoring problems are going to end today. May as well not play a defence.
-
Lowest scorers in the PL, one win away all season, 10 men for more than an hour. Certain defeat. Oh, but Wolves are playing one of the most hopeless teams in the history of the PL. This is all so inevitable. Jones HAS to GO.
-
I know this is used a lot, but if this buffoon remains in charge I genuinely cannot see another win coming this season. Even Adam Blackmore is saying how useless the coaching has been. Can't see any positives from today. It doesn't matter how good or bad the players are, if you don't know your role in the team it is going to be hard. There is no plan. No organisation. Nothing. It us a nothing team with a no name, nothing coach with no clue how to change it. Going down with a wimper.
-
Good thing we are on a run of 10 easy games. Hate to think what might happen if we have to play anyone good. That is 3 points in the first 7 of the easy games. Glad we have a genius manager to turn this all around in the second half. Might even get to see some 5 minute cameos from the new signings.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
IronCitySaint replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
How many games has this idiot cost us with this stupid formation that everyone else can see does not work? It is totally brainless and suggests he cannot see what the hell is going on. Every time we use the 3/5 at the back it stinks. Each time it is changed to 4 at the back it is (marginally) better. What goes through a managers head to think that trying the same failed rubbish over and over again is going to make a difference? It is literally crazy. Oh, and it is also genius to give someone a debut away at Newcastle in a cup semi. Just normal, everyday stuff going on here. Manager sits down and thinks, "yeah, let's give a lower league right back his debut in a semi final, so I can then play my best right back at left back and leave my best left back on the bench as a reward for a great game at the weekend." Total genius. -
Feeble, pathetic rubbish again. In a league that is half full of shit teams we really are excelling at being extra shit at everything. Urgency, formations, tactics, selection, game management, transfer policy, everything. No club deserves relegation more than this club and it is all looking pretty inevitable now. The only hope is that is gets rid of this string of no-hope owners and gets the club an owner that cares. The only thing that surprises is that anyone bothers to show up for home games at all, given the record over the past several seasons. It is more than the club deserve. Oh, and VAR stinks.
-
Has there ever been a team so bad at home over so many seasons as this team? How many formations have we played during the course of this game.?Some might say that the manager hasn't got a clue what formation or players to pick. Why not play the new players? Any where is the new striker? So many questions and no answers. This is a rudderless ship. Nobody is taking responsibility for this shit, week after week.
-
Words cannot describe how bad it was tonight. But, if that useless clown is still in charge this time tomorrow then it is a clear sign to me that the current bunch of buffoons running the club have accepted relegation.
-
Shouldn't have bothered wasting an afternoon watching that. Weekends are much better when Saints are not playing. That was just a bunch of blokes kicking a ball about in a park. The local over 50's walking football team have more energy and passing ability than that shower. It really does make you wonder what they do all week in training. Whatever it is they do, it is not working and needs a change. Villa had to do nothing to win that game, which is lucky for them because I thought they were equally as pathetic and appalling as us. Premier League - the best league in the world.
-
The first of many similar defeats to come, I think. Another shambles transfer window and pre-season. Would have been surprised if it had been any different.
