  1. Yeah, that is high up in the rulebook. Perhaps the number one.
  2. Sorry peeps but I'd rather see the club die than have that $^%! own it.
  3. That's what I would have thought.
  4. If Saints go, I'll never watch another football match. There would be no point.
  5. OK, I'll give you that one. But your day may change significantly around 1pm. BTW, what was all that on the main forum, about nobody listening..?
  6. BEEN..?!? When did you get up..?
  7. Seriously, I thought the time of the demise starting, was the well debated under-ambitious post FA Cp Final season. It set the tone of what was to come. Of course, it was all utterly avoidable [that's the real tragedy] and Saints fans stood aghast as first Wayne Bridge left, and then the whole thing started to unravel at ever increasing speed. Wayne Bridge's departure meant Chris Marsden lost his playing partner, and Saints lost their very effective left side. Graeme Le Saux, although fine at LB, never gelled with CMFG, as he collected injuries. WGS left, and Saints became thier usual unambitious selves in their choice of Sturrock; who actually did quite well. But when he left due to the stress of managing a Premiership side [so they say], Saints became amazingly unambitious with the apparently permanent and astonishing appointment of Steve Wigley. Lowe said he always liked to give young talent a chance. Not in the Prem you don't, mate. Not if you want to prosper. I think that covers the main turning point in fortunes. Redknapp was just a sideshow, and just showed that he couldn't work miracles, and is just a competent manager, rather than someone special. I'll be interested to see the match attendances and investment once it's clear Lowe has no further connection with the club.

  9. Fantastic. I shall be working, and unable to get to the radio. Typical..! I blame everybody except me.
  10. Martin Whitmarsh, you mean. I thought you had a handle on these things, mate..? Pathetic. Truly [no pun intended Jarno] pathetic. Roll on MotoGP. At least we'll know immediately when the field pass the chequered flag who won and who did what and when.
  11. Same old Saints. We never actually quite know what they are upto. That's the usual openness and transparity. I blame the Fans Parliament.
  12. Tired and overwrought simple old mod, that you are - you can tell me. I find Wilde's logic fascinating. The PLC has an overdraft limit of £4m that they cannot go over, or they could suffer the consequences. Are these limits something which the PLC just skips over and then expects another higher limit to be placed on them..? No. Live in the real world. At some point Barclays were going to pull the plug. The PLC gave them the best excuse possible.
  13. I'm obviously getting biker fever. Bought some new gear the other day and now have started looking at Honda VFR750 - 800's and VTR1000's. All I wanted in the first place was a nice, tidy, lowish mileage, NTV650. It's a big jump from this: http://www.albatrosmt.narod.ru/temi/oboi/Honda/Honda-NTV650-1996.jpg to this: http://www.albatrosmt.narod.ru/temi/oboi/Honda/Honda-VFR800FI-1998.jpg or this: http://www.albatrosmt.narod.ru/temi/oboi/Honda/Honda-VTR1000F-Firestorm-1998.jpg But I think I might be going for it. We'll see what the summer brings. Care to guess what a year's fully comp is, for me..?
  14. I'm inclined to agree with you. I think we've covered every reason.
  15. Oops, I thought this was common knowledge, hence my post above.
  16. ...when the football league decided in 1988 [i think.. could be slightly earlier or later?] that for league matches [what else..?], all the gate receipts should go to the home team. Saints were still a force to be reckoned with in the late 1980's, but couldn't compete with clubs that could hold onto 30-40-50-60,000 people's money, when all they could manage was 22,000, and later 15,251. Hence the building of St Marys was forced upon the club because they hadn't acted sooner. All the ultimate failure has been brought upon the club because it hasn't been ambitious enough in the past, and too cheap in planning its future. And St Marys has now become the noose to hang it. EDIT: But recently, it was Wigley's appointment. This smash was totally avoidable, and we all know it.
  17. About 4-5 years too late, but never mind. Not your post I might add. Anyway, if this is true and the man truely walks away from the club, leaving no tendrils, I doubt there will be too much trouble with finding investment, even in these dark and turbulent times. It has always been said that investments/takeovers always washed up against the breaker that was Rupert Lowe. BTW, take Guy Askham with you. Andrew Cowen, I don't have a problem with, but he'd better go too for the good of club unity.
  18. Well at last the Beeb have got hold of it, and Radio Solent have been involved. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7976473.stm WARNING: Look away if you can't stand looking at a smug face: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7976418.stm What a complete April Fool..!
  19. Let's hope that's ALL it is..!
  20. That is an excellent one too. When Jimmy Carr first appeared on the show, he didn't quite get the swing of it IMO. But by the time that clip came along, he'd well and truly got the feel. Great stuff from the 4 which left SF and the audience quite helpless.
  21. Excellent news. + another.
  22. Yes, they are now down to around 450 people. Apparently this was known by the employees as early as 2 weeks ago. There looks to be some expert opinion against Arizona's and my view, that Brawn's superiority won't last the season out. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7972046.stm Must say, when you add up all the good points, and read them, it does make for a lot of bonus over their rivals.
  23. I find it amazing people are suggesting Gillett being out is a huge loss, considering that before Wotte started picking him, for the starting XI, most poeple thought he was rubbish.
  24. It would be nice, but Rossi and the rest have moved on, and Gibernau has some catching up to do. However, he can look to none other than Troy Bayliss for inspiration, who back in 2006, after winning a Superbike Championship [not his last], got one more go on a Ducati MotoGP bike, after doing so-so years before, in the last race of the season. He promptly ran away from the field, because he'd always had the talent, but the pressure was completely off him. He had nothing to win or lose, save for showing what MotoGP was missing. And he did so well he won easily, with Rossi falling off early in the race, and remounting, only not passing enough people to stop Hayden winning his World Championship. And it's what Giibernau needs to do too. If he can ride without pressure, and have a competitive bike under him, he'll be an excellent addition to the MotoGP field.
