I think NA is just trying to ease him in slowly, the English game is normally a bit of a culture shock for foreign imports. I suggest it may be a couple of months for him to become acclimatized & up to speed with the bustle & pace of the game over here. He will probably be used in the Carling cup & eased into the league gradually. But I think he will eventually grab his place & make it his.

I think he'd do a good job here, but I don't see him as being the team player that NA & NC seem to be going for. I seem to recall he caused a stink in Leeds promotion run in league-1. Didn't he have a massive bust up when subbed against us at Elland road??. Also had a couple of bust ups with Moyes, I don't see him fitting in here at the moment.

Yes Ian your right he is at QPR. It will be interesting now their take-over is complete to see if the Gorkss/Puncheon deal has any more legs. I still like the sound of Gorkss from all reports, hope he see's that he's surplus to requirements at QPR.

Has anyone else noticed the re-occurring theme in the other managers interviews after playing us. Poor defending shocking defending, poor positional play etc etc etc aren't we lucky they all play poorly against us!! . Could be the same interview with a different manager. A lot of us rightly asked after the Leeds game were we that good or were Leeds that bad, I think we are getting the answer, we are playing that well at the moment. LONG may it continue. Dreamland, and for once after 40-yrs supporting Saints I don't feel like its going to come crashing around our ears. I have a belief in the club & management team & the team on the pitch are simply that a tight knit group, and a TEAM in every sense of the word.

It certainly seems that we do have something special going on here, I thought we'd have a team to compete at this level. But they are surpassing all expectations so far. Not just the results but the manor of the football. As for NA & NC they seem to be right on the money with team spirit & ethos, they will not let anyone rock the boat here.

I was at work with BBC Videprinter on, and when I got a chance had a look at the text updates. When it went 3-2 I thought oh god no don't let us start doing that again. but after 10-mins had a look at the text updates & seemed to be back on top again, so relaxed a little & then Lallana struck. This team is made of sterner stuff, but for us fans fear of years of blowing it big style will take a long time to erase.

Excellent article & a well researched for once, well spotted Phil. Nice to see them mention the new crop coming through as well. 40-million is some serious dosh from the academy. Also from what you say above it goes to show how careful you have to be with youngsters, to nurture them through. Also shows how well we do it at Southampton & always have done.
