  1. While disappointed to lose a player of Oxo's obvious talent, we didn't miss him in the run in. Neither did we miss him Saturday. So good luck to AOC I think your going to need it, & we can use the money to strengthen the squad & club. And reading the statement on the OS it seems to me that the 12-mill + Add on's is the most realistic (reading between the lines) being that the 12 mill deal for Walcott is widely known & we've blown it out of the water. I think Arsenal will try to play those figures down by saying 12-mill with add on's to make it sound as though its not 12 up front.
  2. Confirmed then, but done on our grounds not theirs. Looks like all sides happy with it then. Sad he's gone but great deal for us. onwards & upwards. I wander who will play in the premiership first Saints or Oxo??
  3. Wow indeed if that is true totally mental money.
  4. Every player at every club is available at the right price, if the figures quoted 12mill then that is a ridiculous amount for a 17/18yr old only proven at the 3rd tier of English football.I happen to agree with the posts above from St Marco & Canada Saint & ask why his father is putting him into such a position at Arsenal?? Surely Man Utd would be a better club for the lad. The purple nosed emperor is never scared to throw kids into games if they are good enough & he would get a better grounding IMHO at Old Trafford. Arsenal are in a transitional period & Wenger's vision could all go completely pear shaped this season. If they lose Fabregas & Nasri as looks likely & replace them with cheaper unproven foreigners & unproven kids again then it could get ugly at the Emirates this year. As for the Alex good luck hope it works out for you, but we move on & I don't think we really missed him on Saturday.
  5. Its disappointing that he feels at his age he will really improve playing for Arsenal youth & reserve teams. All about the money, so lets get this circus over get the money in & lets get J Rodriguez in from Burnley, And another in CB Gorkss what price Maynard now?? Going to be an interesting few days to come. Just hope we've stuck out for a huge % sell on clause. Perfect replacement already on board in DeRidder so no worries there!
  6. Couldn't watch the game live so I recorded it. I was more than happy with the result lovely to get off to such a positive start. I sat & watched the game today & thought that we controlled the game for the greater majority of it. apart from 2 clear chances Leeds had they were prety inafective against our defence who all played well, Martin made a couple of mistakes, but got away with them, overall I thought he looked comfortable & looks a great prospect. Midfield was strong & effective Cork & Hammond looked reallly solid & Lallana was his usual class act, Connolly is class just hope we can keep him fit he will be awesome at this level. Not to sure if we were that good or Leeds were that bad, but great start Very encouraging.
  7. Looks great well done to all involved, especially to you just mike you can rightly be proud today.
  8. Been at a funeral today & only just seen the news. The YouTube clips of him look really good. Looks a terrific signing. Good work once again from NC & NA
  9. I was born & brought up in Lymington, no one in my family had really been in to football that much. I just loved it from an early age but with no real allegiance until my sister went to Southampton University. She was billeted in Over Dell Court, I was 10 yrs old when we went to visit her she was on the 4th floor I went to her window saw the Dell & I was hooked from that moment on. I pestered the old man until he took me to see the Saints & then ended up involving my entire family. Mum & Dad had season tickets in the East Stand & I cut my teeth in the Milton then moved to Under Weststand. Brothers & Sisters followed. My son although brought up in the Stockport / Manchester area & is a Saint at heart. I have a lot of heart ache to be responsible for. P.S My mum was born & brought up in POOpey but as I keep telling her she was rehabilitated & is a true Saint LOL.
  10. My mum had one done about 3/4 years ago, due to arthritis. For the first few weeks it was quite painful for her. You will have to make yourself make it work, do your exercises/re-hab etc. It has been more than worth the few weeks pain & effort as she is quite mobile now since having it done. Also my sister has had it done about 6/8 weeks ago & is just starting to get back to full mobility. She was walking without a stick when I saw her last week & well on the mend. If you decide to have it done then I hope it all goes alright for you & you make a good recovery.
  11. Great news that Corks signed, right age very good prospect for the future & someone who can grow with the club hopefully. Welcome aboard the Magic Bus Jack! Just hope we can hang on to Chamberlain & we will have a first class starting midfield. Lallana - Cork - Schneiderlin - Chamberlain really looks mouthwateringly good. Also some good options with Gully, hammond maybe Holmes if he can stay fit. Well done NC & NA good piece of business.
  12. Could be good business who knows, I'd rather be getting some proven players at this level, even if it means paying a little more for them. CMS struggled last time in the championship. We have a lot of unproven players at this level this year, but I believe that they will step up to the mark. I'd just like to see a couple of good solid championship players brought in, & believe in time it will happen. And seeing as we didn't bid for him its no great loss is it!
  13. Whilst the legal technicalities are a little difficult to prove, and only the people involved will know what actually happened. It is unfortunate that the individual involved died, but had he been behaving as most of the rest of society by not going around a strangers house & trying to steal his possessions, then he would still be alive today. Who knows what they may have done to the 2 females in the house given the chance. I know what I'd do if I found 4 masked men in my house, I'd do all I could to protect my wife & daughter & my hard worked for possessions, & F**k the dirty thieving scrots! We don't know quite the full details of what happened yet but I have real sympathy for the family whose lives have been shattered all because 4 low life scum decided that they'd break into their house!
  14. - - - - - - - - Niemi - Golac - Killer - Richards - Bridge Le-Tiss - Williams - Oakley - Armstrong - - - -Channon - Shearer Manager - Strachan
  15. Good deal he may not play as much next year, but will be good to have him in & around the squad.
  16. But wasn't it held up due to the bank holiday! They just didn't say which one, could well be 1st week of June then after the play-off finals ?????????????
  17. Really classless Gold, Sulivan & Brady. asked Wigan for a room & sack him minutes after the game. All this after giving him the vote of confidence in January & then on countless occasions since have undermined him through several press statements. Really not sure how they will come back next season, the debt issue is massive & will take a great proportion of the parachute payments. Unless the three mentioned above will fund a one shot chance at a quick return, Somehow don't see that happening. Unless they've got a deal on Upton Park already to go?
  18. There is no point going in half hearted, Aim high & look to automatic promotion, tempered with a little realism that come next April I'd be happy if we were in with a shout of the play-off's. Its going to be more difficult next season even without the likes of Wolves, West Ham Wigan. but who'd have thought Norwich would have gone straight through the league. We seem to have that never say die attitude, through what's been a pressure fuelled run in, and we need to keep that spirit & togetherness next season. So hopefully 4/5 quality players can be brought in, with the right attitude & suppliment the squad we have at the moment. I'm sure NC & NA will be aiming high also tempered with the same realism. All aboard for the Premier bound bus whether this season or next.
  19. Oh he sounds perfectly fit & proper for our fishy friends, the well renowned south coast money launderers. Can't see how that one slipped through the leagues rigorous FaPPT
  20. Have to agree with almost all you've said SOG, it really is a sad situation. They have made an incredibly stupid & irresponsible decision to leave their children alone & will forever have to live with that. I can understand them wanting to keep the profile up, but when they do, then they must expect to have some criticism coming their way. They chose to not only go out for a few drinks, but lets not forget that the apartments had a baby sitting service that they chose not to use. I have 2 children (grown up now) and we were lucky enough to be able to go abroad on holiday every year through their childhood. Neither of us would have dreamed of going off to a bar leaving our kids alone, you give them a kip in the afternoon & take them out with you, then when they are tired you take them back to bed and STAY WITH THEM. Its called parental responsibility sadly lacking in the McCanns
  21. Great vids & pictures thanks to all all posted them. Loved the one with the lino running off before the whistle blew funny as F**k! Couple of the stewards seemed a bit heavy handed in some of them.
  22. He wasn't the big name a lot of people wanted, but he has instilled throughout the squad a work ethic & togetherness long been needed at this club. He was brought in to do a job, & has succeeded. Well done Nigel keep the bus rolling onwards & upwards.
  23. Great end to a successful season, raising a few glasses tonight. So glad we did it for Marcus, well done NA All aboard for the NPC.
  24. Whilst what you say will probably transpire, I'd like to know how they will argue that in law & the CVA, not sure how the parachute payments work now? But they were to get 48-million over a four year period, I think it was to be 2 larger payments followed by 2 smaller ones so they could well have 15/16-milion coming in the near future, can't see how they can argue they have no money to pay the CVA. Surley its in Bellend Chainrai's interest to keep this circus stumbling on to cream off as much as possible from said Parachute payments. But I am looking at this trough reasoned expectations/thinking (god I need to get a grip & remember its the BEF we are talking about here) Doh!
