  1. Saints got a big loan fee when letting Sam go to Birmingham. Typical Saints looked at the wedge first and foremost.
  2. For the first time in my time supporting Saints I have big reservations. 1. He is a Pellegrino signing I don't trust his judgement 2. Our previous track record with South Americans 3. He is expensive and I doubt any better than Gallagher who we should have stuck with 4. We need someone to hit the ground running in the Premier League and he has no experience of British football This is a massive gamble for the money mentioned and one I'd rather we didn't make.
  3. You make a valid point but of course there is a chain in football and the club that has been poached would just look for replacements down the chain which is what happened before the window was introduced.
  4. You need to prioritise your frustrations methinks
  5. I think, like the fans, the players respond to matches against "bigger clubs". The fans were up for from the beginning but the crux will come v Brighton.
  6. It was a good performance but we have had glimmers of hope before only to come horribly unstuck in the next match.
  7. If the Board were to act like a Board should there would be no need to protest.
  8. Hmm I accept you are not trolling but I do wonder why you dislike him so. I don't think he is a Mesiah by any stretch but I was impressed with the way he almost saved Hull and took them to the LC semis (I know Puel went one better) where they gave United a good couple of games. Plus he is leaving a basket case of a club in a top half position (i know not by many points but the same could be said of Puel's 8th place). Under the circumstances we are under with those saying MP should say because there is no one better available I would hope the Board are at least giving this development some consideration. Needs must and all that.
  9. Bought us with loaned money apparently. I have no problem KL selling us to whoever she chooses but I wish she hadn’t claimed she had left us in good hands when evidently she hasn’t.
  10. Olomola came back beginning of Jan. Keep up
  11. Trousers, for once have the courage of your own convictions. Guan is hardly likely to give details of his status to help you decide which side of the fence you choose to climb down from. Assuming you do work up the courage to climb down that is.
  12. So what did you do that was effective in the Lowe era to halt our slide?
  13. The more I think about this and the more I hear the more I think we are f****d. KL sold us to someone who was never in a million years a suitable owner. He has purchased us with 100% loan. She was within her rights of course but she has sort of condemned us to a very uncertain future while simultaneously seriously lining her own pockets. I admire Guan for getting off his arse but for me the protests or discontent should be aimed at Gao, Liebherr, Krueger and Reed.
  14. I assume his agent is not part of the same stable that Reed’s son works for?
  15. I don’t think I have ever been less enthusiastic about a potential signing. I just don’t trust Pellegrino’s judgement plus this lad can’t get a game in a poor League.
  16. I can only think of one good trait Cortese had which we are currently lacking and that is decisive leadership.
  17. No we can’t unfortunately - we were a bit too quick to get rid imo. But although I am biased I genuinely think he could have done a job for us at present. At the very least he has a physicality.
  18. He has scored one goal less than Gallagher this season, is he really going to be the answer to our problems. We need Premier League experienced battlers
  19. I hope not. He is not the sort to come to our rescue and is he really any better than our loanees?
  20. I am not sure the side will be improved by any major signing. What we lack is on-field leadership, we are too easily bullied and fold too quick. We need an inspirational captain to lead from the front a la Jimmy Case or Alan Ball. Guys who never knew when they were beaten.
  21. We we are already dangerously near the relegation zone?
  22. Worse run since relegation year 2006! Let me know when you think we should panic
  23. More unnecessary chopping and changing, why drop Boufal? This side has little goal threat.
  24. I am a bit ambivalent about signing him, value wise because of his age, wages etc, but I think with Walcott in our team it would go a long way to staving off relegation so..... missing out could be very costly.
