As I said above there was an element of sarcasm in my post. You are correct I don’t like Pellegrino and I am not fickle enough to let a good result paper over obvious cracks. It’s a forum mate, not everyone is going to meet with your approval or your insistence on being non critical.

Sorry I genuinely don’t understand. My post was laced with a bit of sarcasm- is it that which upsets you?
-
Strange post. Pellegrino has a reputation of dropping players who put in a decent shift. That’s a fact so why you want to resort to puerile insults is bewildering to me. Sorry I ventured an opinion. Hope you feel better for throwing s few insults my way. Apologies if I upset you.

Let's not be fickle after a decent result. We were good tonight but doing it at Old Trafford should not obliterate the memory of a woeful performance v Spurs just four days ago. The Palace match will be a vital indicator, trouble is, I fear more team changes will lead to a bad performance, fans then up in arms demanding MP's head and so the merry-go-round goes on and on. Remember when Cortese ditched Adkins after a draw at Chelsea and we were all horrified? I remain steadfastly in the Pellegrino out camp.

Don't bank on it - Pellegrino will drop him v Palace because that's what he does when players have a good game!
-
I fully expect McCarthy will now be dropped after his clean sheet - it's the Pellegrino way!
-
Didn’t Targett play well at Spurs? Is he injured today or is this another strange Pellegrino decision?
-
Yes but we like Osvaldo now because he butted that traitor Fonte. Keep up.
-
No way is he a coach ready for the Premier League - this smacks of fan appeasement
-
Not impressed - he was pretty invisible in the artificially created liaison job. I have always thought the club over-rated his skills. This smells like an exercise in fan appeasement.
-
There’s some poor deluded souls who wish we still had Burley in charge.
-
He’s got to go but there is no leadership or vision at SMs at present and inertia and blind faith is the name of the game.
-
Nick, if Pellegrino had been a raging success no one would give a hoot about Puel. Puel was crap for us, turgid is not harsh enough.
-
He has featured in every game except one (Everton H), only Bertrand has played more minutes. He seems to have cast a spell over Reed/Pellegrino

Black is not the cause of our decline, far from it and from what I am told the players never had a problem with him. You have to look higher

Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
Upfront in the middle for the first time. There has been a bit of a debate about it among Birmingham fans. Sam is happy to play anywhere but I think he relished the role he had centre up top yesterday. -

MotM too -
So why aren't we resting the ones carrying injuries instead of resting those in form?
-
Debatable. That Leicester game undid all the good imo. We need to perform against the lower clubs not just put up plucky displays v the top 6.

With relegation almost a certainty, who stays and who goes?

Sam got man of the match yesterday and scored! -
Replace "less" with "un" and I almost agree with you

A few points - relegation is not almost a certainty but if you think Gabby would still be here if we were to go down, then think again. I gather he's none to happy here at the moment. -
No wonder 90% of the squad are unsettled

Fans are more fickle true, but there again the clubs/players don't give a fig about the fans anymore. It's the way football is going and is why many are falling by the wayside. Not Saints fault but we now have a virtual faceless owner who's main priority is to use the club to make money. And you can say that about virtually all the top 40 clubs these days.

Pellegrino 1 Puel 4 - Post match Meltdown
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Dark Munster's topic in The Saints
When all said and done we can argue the merits of Puel and Pellegrino all night but the truth is evident that Puel has inherited far better players at Leicester. You only have to look at Schmeichel's distribution that led to their 2nd to realise he is a class above FF. You only have to look at Mahrez's direct run and finish to realise he is twice the player Redmond is and then look at Vardy's mobility and compare it to dear old Charlie's impression of a cart horse.
